Misty began life as a Mexican street cat. She escaped into the patio of a friend who couldn't keep her due to allergies, so my husband Kelly and I ended up with her. That was not quite 20 years ago. This picture above is only a few months old.

FINAL UPDATE: She died in the night, under my desk.

Well, if I look over to her as I type, she talks to me from her basket near my desk. She stopped eating about a week ago. She drinks a little water. Mostly she rests. If need be we will involve our veterinarian but so far everything is going quite calmly. But I have less time for working. Of course I have many sad moments but I'm very grateful for our years together.

UPDATE: Here she is about an hour ago,in her basket

and on the heater

With that look, I wouldn't put a time on her. Try to do the best you can with her. Enjoy the precious moment friend. All the best!

She looks like a wonderful companion Rosana and at 20 years has had a very long and happy life with you.

I have seen many pets pass during my lifetime, and always ask, 'why can't they live as long as us'?

Stay strong my friend.

Hi Rosana, It's so hard to lose pets, especially when they've been around as long as Misty has. I hope she'll have a peaceful crossing over the Rainbow Bridge. Best wishes, Jenni.

She looks remarkably well, rodana. A credit to you!

These kind messages mean a lot to me! And I added a couple of photos of her from today to the blog post.
