Getting through Shingles

I had a strage rash on my face that led me to Urgent Care at the health center I use. I was astonished to be diagnosed with Shingles. There are innoculations against it, but they were too low down my to-do list and I hadn't gotten them (it's a series of two).

After the past few days, I can say most heartily, it's worth getting them.

Pain, itching, weakness, absent-mindedness...I will spare you the details. I don't usually write short posts but I can't do much at the computer without my glasses which press on my face between my eyes and ears. On the right side, that is exactly where I am swollen up like a blimp.

I got two prescrptions and have also been advised that l-lysine helps a lot. Got some of it and it is helping.

Good wishes and prayers are most welcome, but I could do without the oh no types of replies, got a ton of those when I posted to my personal facebook page, which is mostly real-life friends.

It will pass. The sooner the better!

Thanks, Monica. I agree that prayers are powerful and I think they are making a difference as I'm coming along quite well.

That's wonderful news, Rosana, Thank you for letting me know.

God's Gracious Blessings to you and my prayers will continue.

Hugs,
Monica

Hi Rosana, That is something I have never had. Take care and I hope you get well soon.
Thanks for sharing.

Boy, that is something I hope I never get. Have heard that it is no fun at all. Hope you are better soon.

I wish you a speedy recovery Rosanna. Sympathy for the pain. Perhaps some ice wrapped in a cloth for the swelling and itching.
Here you can get calamine and aqueous cream which soothes the itch without drying like calamine lotion.
I personally prefer witch hazel gel as it is cooling and soothing.and can be used as often as desired.

Hadn't thought of any of those. Do like witch hazel. Luckily the past few hours I haven't had much pain or itching, maybe due to the l-lysine.

Ice wrapped in a cloth is something I can here and now. Great idea

Glad to help. Get well soon.

I'm sorry to hear about your challenges. I've always been scared of shots, so I have never had that type of vaccination. I suppose I should look in to it.

Taking into account all of the craziness going on, I am very thankful that you were able to get into the doctor.

I am praying that you recover quickly.

Thanks for your prayers and good thought. The coronavirus hasn't hit my small town yet, and so I too was grateful.
