Covid Vaccine Grumbles

I should be happier. I don't have Covid-19, my husband doesn't have it, and none of my local friends have it either. But still I'm not cheery.

We went and got our second Moderna shots yesterday.I had read in no less august a source than the New YorkTimes that the second Moderna dose was hitting women harder than men, and that's the case in our household. Yesterday wasn't too bad but I ached in the night. I'm still sore... in my arm of course, but also with a headache and more. I will spare you more details.

A big cup of hot tea is helping. We had a few drops of snow that were nice to see. My dear husband is going out with the dogs for their usual early exercise, and that leaves me and the cat here to kick back.

I'm glad it's Saturday, often a day when I don't do much worky work.

Rosana, hope your arm gets better and your headaches clear soon but trust me that's better than doing it my way I got my immunities after three weeks in the hospital with Covid-19. I see your cat is watching you like Jeff Brown's cat watches him when he types at his computer, I guess they are born editors LOL.

Joe

Yikes, you had a rough time! I'm glad to have gotten the vaccines.

Hi Rosana, sorry to hear you felt some side effects from the Moderna vaccine. I have heard of some blood clot issues with the Astra Zeneca vaccine and it has been put on hold here in Canada. Appreciate you sharing this information as the media only shows so much.

All the best,
Michael

Canada still insists on its “safety”. I’m pretty sure EU countries target Astra first because of Brexit, but ALL of those manufacturers are experimental vaccines and people are the lab rats.

And logically it just doesn’t make sense to inject yourself with an experimental vaccine POSSIBLY with a 40-65% efficacy rate, when your immune system deals with corona with a 99.97% success rate across ALL demographics.

Man this topic and the whole corona madness boils my blood. That’s why people shouldn’t post about corona or vaccines on WA, it’s a political topic, and personally it annoys me that 1 year later people still fall for the government crap, lies and manipulation they pull, and are more afraid of a virus with a 99.97% recovery rate than experimental MRNA vaccines that aren't even approved by the FDA (check official websites if you don't believe me).

But whatever. When it comes to masks, vaccines and self-isolation, I’m pro-choice and that's what I advocate for. Nothing mandatory, but pro-choice. I do what I think is best for ME, MY BODY, MY HEALTH, MY LIFE. You do you, I do me.

You are the 2nd woman I've heard this from. I get my second at the end of the month and certainly hope I don't feel poorly afterwards.

Relax and rest up. Chillin' one Saturday in 365 isn't going to hurt any.

Take care,
Barbara

Add my mom to the list, Sis! I feel fine!

Brudda

You got your second shot already?

Thanks, Barbara! I am getting better now, after dozing much of the morning away.

I am so glad.

Nope, and I didn't get the first either, Sis!

Oh, ok.

Hope you feel better soon. It seems to be very variable in how bad the side effects are. Some are miserable for a few days and others are completely unaffected.
I'm due to get my second dose in 2 weeks although I'm on the Pfizer version.

Sounds like life, doesn't it, Dave? Some have smooth sailing and others not so much. And thanks for your kindness.I AM doing better.

I'm so sorry to hear that you are not feeling so well after your second vaccination there Rosana.

I believe that the side effects can affect everyone differently, so please take some rest, tea is a great idea.

I find green tea with fresh honey, mint and ginger always makes me feel better!

Take care my friend and I hope you feel better very very soon.

That tea sounds yummy! We have a huge rosemary plant just outside the back door and it's good in tea too.

I think your double very helped. I am feeling better.

Fresh rosemary is a fantastic addition to most teas too, some find the taste a little potent, but I believe the medicinal properties contained are a worth while addition.

I'm glad the double 'very' aided your recovery slightly Rosana!
