Today is Working Parents Day. Well, actually in the US it is National Working Parents Day, but I didn't do enough research to find out about other places. So I willo claim my rights as an opinionated person and declare that it is such a day for you if you are part of WA, live anywhere on this planet, and have children or step-children of any age.

Working parents sure have their hands full, all the more in this time of staying home more and home-schooling and interacting more with your offspring.

The header is a picture of my husband many years ago, playing a game on the table with his daughter. The game was a board game that I had created with cardboard, using buttons for counters. Playing incessant games with kids is one of many tasks that working parents may not have realized they were getting into.

The little girl in the photo above is now grown up, so you might think that Kelly's working parent years were behind him. Not so.Yesterday she and her husband called from California to ask Kelly what to do about a plumbing leak in their house. That turned into a rather lengthy discussion of various things to do. Once a parent, always a parent. That's fine. Life with our kids (or in my case here, step-kid) brings us so much joy as well.

Do you have a favorite memory of being a working parent, now or in the past? Or a not-so-favorite one that makes a good story?

I teach high school and let me clearly state how "working parents" are working overtime unfortunately right now trying to juggle work, Home management, and become a teacher assisting their children in lesson plans right now. COVID-19 has placed such a strain on parents all over the world becoming home school teachers when they are not qualified. Don't even get me started on the grandparents that are raising their grandchildren due to unfortunate circumstances!!!

My not so favourite was doing my children's washing, folding clothes nicely and taking it to their rooms only to find clothes strewn across the floor, bed not made, a complete mess and I wonder why I bother folding clothes. It used to make me feel like throwing clean clothes amongest the dirty ones,

My favourite part of the day is when my son says I love you mum, I know know you do but your room. His answer to that was I have to give you something to do when you're not working.

Yep, children.

Oh my, yes. I was a working full time and part time and going to college part time, single parent of 3. I did NOT sleep much. Mountain Dew was my best friend. It made me strong though and bonded us as a family because all the kids has tasks to do that rotated weekly. Good times.

The bank of Mum and dad is always open 😂
Thank you very much for sharing

We both worked yet found time to raise my daughter and our son throughout the years. Yes they still ask questions and sometimes take the advice or cede it was what they would do anyways. LOL!
Endless choir and music performances and practices along with athletics for both, and my son from 9 years on as a performer of magic shows and being his roadie after work many evenings and weekends. We miss those days, even if I would rush to the ball field to eat a hamburger made on the grill and a bag of chips to watch a soccer or baseball game, or be setting up a microphone or magic illusion.
guess it paid off.
My daughter has given us joy with 4 grandchildren 2 grown and 2 younger. She ran them everywhere to sports, performing etc. Now the younger ones she works and does homework and helps online studies.
Interestingly she called me many times while she was in school to assist in editing , researching or giving ideas for papers in college courses. Dad and mom are asked all of our lives for assistance and its always a joy.
Can't wait for my son to have children.
