The Knitting Niche, Are There WA Members In This Niche?

A family member of mine is going to have a baby in a couple of months and because I used to knit long time ago, I decided that when the time comes for me to go and see the baby, I should take something with me that I have made myself.

I bought knitting material and all that remained was to decide what I wanted to knit and then find the best and easiest pattern, because I really don't want to spend too much time knitting, I got lots of work to do.

So I got on Pinterest and YouTube to get some inspiration because it's been a long time since I made something, anyway as I was looking at different patterns and ideas, I couldn't help but notice how those people who are in the knitting niche have a huge following.

You Don't Even Have To Show Your Face On YouTube

One of the videos I watched on YouTube the woman didn't even say anything, and she didn't even show her face, I just saw her hands and I watched the video until the end, the video had 600k views and it's been up for only 4 months.

Another video that had over a million views was of a woman who again didn't show her face and she spoke in Spanish but I watched the whole video and I understood what she was showing because I just had to watch her hands as she worked on the pattern.

When the video was over, I scrolled to the comment section and most people who left comments were not Spanish speakers but they enjoyed the video anyway just like I did.

I Think Knitting Is A Great Niche

So I was thinking, knitting could actually be a very lucrative niche for someone who knows a thing or two about knitting.

And you can even make YouTube videos without showing your face if you are camera shy, you can just focus the camera on your hands and you show people how to knit, I think it's an amazing Niche and there are people who are looking for knitting content.

Based on my research, because I got curious about this niche and I visited a few knitting blogs and I could see that there are many people interested in this topic.

And I was actually thinking if you really know how to knit, you can even sell your own stuff online especially baby stuff, if you create a website and start with baby stuff like baby blankets and everything baby, it could take off.

People Do Like Hand Made Things Especially Baby Things

I mean people like handmade things and they really don't have time to knit especially knitting big things like blankets, so if you provide your audience with products, I am sure it will work out. And of course when you get lots of traffic to your website, you will be able to monetize your site with other things too.

There are also opportunities to create knitting tutorials for beginners, and other teaching materials, but I haven't really done research on the kind of products you can promote on such a site apart from needles and yarn.

The sites I visited they were promoting products, like baby products from Amazon, and they also had ads. So I guess going into the niche you need to do more research on possibility of promoting products.

Which brings me to my Question, are there WA members who are in the knitting Niche? If you like knitting, maybe its worth looking into.

Conclusion

knitting in my opinion is a good niche and if I knew how to go about it, I would have taken it or maybe not because it will require a lot of work, because not only do you have to knit, you also have to create content and explain the patterns and show how to do it.

So I think a knitting website will be like a training website, where you keep creating lessons, but I guess if it's something you love to do, you can do it.
