Niche, Products To Promote VS Your Passion

Today I have answered so many niche related questions, here at WA and other places, I know that we are provided with everything we need to learn about niche and how to go about selecting a niche, however, people seem to still be confused about a niche.

Or they are not patient enough to follow the training step by step until they reach the point where selecting a niche is taught. Anyway, it's OK, I always make sure I answer as good as I can, but I do always mention that they need to follow the training step by step because that is the only way to not miss anything.

So I thought I do a post about this subject, one of the questions I answered today was which niche has the potential for loads of traffic?

And then I answered another one which was, which products should I choose to promote as my niche?

When It Comes to Selecting A Niche, Passion Wins

First of all, I think every niche has it's own audience, and to be honest based on what I have come across the last few months on the internet while doing my research for different things, I have seen that anything can be a niche.

Which Actually reminds me of Candy Crush, did anyone here play that game? I am not even sure if it's still played because honestly these days I have no time to play any games on my phone, I actually deleted all games from my phone.

Any free time I get now, is for checking my emails, checking my social media for updates, checking my WA notifications, so no time for games, besides as we discussed in my previous article here at WA, I need some minutes for my funny YouTube videos lol :)

OK, I know you are wondering where I am going with this and you even wonder if there is a point to all this and if it's connected to the two questions I mentioned above, relax I am getting there, I am a woman and as you know, we take time to get to the point lol.

Candy Crush What do you mean?

So which products should I choose to promote as my niche? I think the products are not important especially when you are just starting out, traffic is what is important which brings me to my mention of Candy Crush.

When I used to play that game, there was this blog that I used to visit, the owner of the website used to post Candy Crush related content, and then at the end of the article she used to welcome comments and she would ask questions.

Like have you beaten this level? how did you do it? and there used to be hundreds of comments, the site, now that I know a thing or two about monetization it was monetized with ads and Amazon links.

So that person had taken Candy Crush and made a niche website out of it, and I am sure she was making lots of money, because as I said, there were lots of comments and she had the buttons for sharing her content on social media and if I remember correctly one of her article was shared like 20k times

I used to visit that blog every single day.

So which niche has the potential for loads of traffic? who would have thought that a candy crush hack site would have loads of traffic? I mean you just play the game and when you get frustrated for not winning the game you just yell at the phone and, try again right? :)

Wrong people search for all kinds of things, myself included, I just quickly checked my Google search history, and it includes among other things how to clean a deep frier that has the sticky stuff on it, I was told to put it in the dish washer which I did and didn't work so the search continues.

Why do people close their eyes when they sneeze (long story) and of course just now I just Google for weird things people search for on Google lol, I am not going to share the list there are some really weird things lol

My point being, follow your passion, choose a niche that you will be able to write a ton of content about with no trouble, OK maybe a little trouble but not too much.

There Are Other People Who Share Your Passion

The traffic will come, the same way you are passionate about that particular niche it's the same way other people are passionate about it and are happy to read content around that niche. Of course as you become familiar with the online business, you will be able to build other websites with profits in mind.

But when you are starting out, you are actually just practicing and it's better to practice with something you know a thing or two about, that way, you won't struggle so much with content.

I know that we are building a business, and one wants to start making money as soon as possible which is good, but if you go after products, then you could be stuck with your products for a long time.

Conclusion

I say go after the people, give them what they need and they will reward you by clicking on your links, my grandfather used to say, don't go after a gift, go after the gift giver.

Anyway, that's just me adding my two cents on the niche subject, what do you think about this topic, do you think people should go for products when choosing a niche? if yes can you please share the right way to go about it?

Or are you on the passion side? is passion more valuable than product when it comes to niche selection?

thank you for this article, a reminder for me that passion wins! Before i joined WA, i was already thinking of starting a mom/family blog where i can share all my homemade/diys to lessen our plastic waste and our ways in trying to be more sustainable. But in the training to find a niche, i was thinking to go with educational toys, but after purchasing the domain, i felt like my writing would be forced along the way. so i was thinking what if i go back to my original idea of starting a mom/family blog?

Are you more passionate about your original idea, right? Go for it. You would need to purchase a new domain related to that.
Tom

thank you Tom for replying. Yes, i am. i feel like i wont run of topics to talk about if i go with my first idea. Any idea on how to get rid or sell my first domain that i bought?

You’re welcome! You could sell it but keep in mind that ICANN says you need to wait 60 days before transferring a domain name to a new registrar if that were the case.
Tom

Thank you for this reply tom. I'll keep it in mind.

Looks like you got a great answer already, so I will just wish you good luck.

You're most welcome!

Whichever you like better is the good option

This is so well explained. I suddenly have ideas!
Thanks!

Thank you Carol, I wish you lots of success as you accomplish your mission to succeed.

Rose - thank you for your post.

Passion for my Niche is paramount.
It is what drives me to improve my knowledge of my niche, long before a product is considered. It is far easier to write a blog about the things which get you going.
I like to help people, after they search for relevant information to meet their needs.

Denis

Thank you Denis, yes its way easier to work with something you are passionate about.

Passion is definitely more valuable than products when selecting a niche to start. I believe it is the best way for me to focus on my goals.

Rose, I love your post. Passion for a niche is the first to focus on. But when one has built a website on passion some go for the high ticket niche as a second site.

I believe a person needs to do their passion first as it is easier to write about. When they are successful on that site they can easily create another site that is not a passion. The first site helps us grow so we can have a diverse income.

I have both which I do not recommend to start out but my passion was created prior to WA.

Just my food for thought.

Laura

Yes Laura, I think when starting out, its best to go for passion, then when one is familiar with the online world, then one can build other websites targeting products that will bring high commissions.
The good thing with WA, we are given opportunity to host up to 25 domains as premium members. So we have more than enough to work with.

A great message for all to take note of Rose. I remember odd bits from my grandparents and a lot more from my parents that helps me through life every day.

Derek

Hi Derek, yes the older generation has a lot to offer especially now where the young people are so confused about life.

When my grandfather was alive, I bet he thought I wasn’t listening when he spoke to me about life. Turns out I was.

Another stunning post Rose. I've been all over the place this last six months, I'm sure I bumped into myself on one occasion. I think I'm finally accepting that if I want to enjoy the 'work' then it would have to be a passion. That said, I have a couple of niche ideas that I would like to explore that I think I would enjoy.
Maybe I'll just sit on the fence some more.

Hi Twack, did you say that you bumped into yourself? Only you can manage to do that 😀😀 anyway, I wish you the very best in your ventures.

I know, you'd think I'd have seen myself coming.

lol

Fantastic post. All of my grandparents are gone but their wisdom was and still is priceless. My approach to this is a bit both niche and passion. Thanks for sharing.
