Hey, are there western country music lovers in the house? OK I know this will come as a shock to you but I am a big fan of western country music. I know, African woman saying that is funny but hey we love what we love right?

The reason why I love country music is that it has many stories, some funny, some not so much, but I feel like country music especially the old kind, covers a lot of life issues and I also feel like there is a lot to learn from the lyrics. First music album I ever bought, country yeah I said it. It was A Dolly Parton Album and I loved that thing, I knew every single song on that thing.

Please stop me when you get bored lol

Then I found Brad Paisley and Don Williams, Kenny Rogers, Reba McEntire, Martina McBride Travis Trtt, LeAnn Rimes, Randy Travis, stop me because I could go on and on. I am not saying that country music is the only kind of music I love but I do enjoy listening to a nice old country song

Anyway, going back to my Dolly Parton love story, there was a time when my colleagues used to make fun of me because I used to tell them how I loved country music, whenever I bought something new like a hand bag they would ask did you get that bag from your Aunt Dolly Parton lol.

Here comes the song

OK the tittle of this post, the song goes like this, that old clock is moving slow and so I am I, being payed by the hour ordered by the minute, my boss just pushed me over the limit, I would love to call him something but I think I will just cal it a day.

I haven't had a day off in over a year, my Jamaican vacation is gonna start right here, hey get the phones for me, you can tell them I just sailed away. When I get back I know there will be hell to pay.

And then the chorus, pour me something tall and strong make it a hurricane before I go insane, its only half past twelve but I don't care, its five o'clock somewhere.

My thoughts on this situation

The reason I think Alan Jackson shouldv'e joined WA is that, imagine if he had built a money making website like the guy I was reading here in WA who built his website during Lunch break and kept working hard until his business was established well enough for him to quit his 9 to 5.

OK so when I say Alan Jackson I don't literally mean the singer I mean he probably has lots of money so maybe he doesn't need to join WA, but I mean a guy in a situation like the one depicted in the song. Imagine him taking his Jamaican vacation with his laptop and telling the boss see you around.

Let's work hard guys, that day is coming when you can walk away from that place with your head held up high, because you know you will be calling the shots from then on.

OK I am sorry for boring you with my country music talk, I will go back to work now.

Thank you so much for your time.

Rose.

Listen to Alison Krauss and you will forget Alan Jackson and all of the above mentioned. She taught the angels in heaven how to sing.

Mark

Yes, she is good too, I like the song she did with Brad Pasley, whiskey lullaby, I like watching the video, it's sad but I like it.

That song and Johnny Cash's version of Hurt are my two favorite "country" songs of all time.

Mark

Oh, I have to look up that one of Johnny Cash, btw is it Johnny Cash who sings that song that says'' does my ring hurt your finger when you go out at night''?

That would be Charlie Pride. Let me know how you like Cash's version of the song Hurt. It was written by Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails when he was a heroin addict. A very powerful song.

Wow! let me look it up right now and I will let you know.

Oh my goodness that is one really sad song, he says'' every one I know goes away in the end, and you could have it all my empire of dirt'' thats deep wow!

You can have Elvis. I like Johnny Cash much more. Elvis could sing gospel that would make you run to the church. His other stuff was just too bubble gum for me.

Nah I have never been an Elvis fan.

I am half Swiss and African and I love country
music. The music has no boundaries.

Thanks for your nice post!
Ingrid

Rose, I love your story, you are right, I love Country Music, as a Hispanic woman, most people interpret I love oldies, and R & B, which I do9 my first love), but man o man, Country music does it for me. The stories are pretty crazy sometimes, but pretty authentic, and make you want to PUT A TEAR IN YOUR BEER!!!
LOL.

I love me some old fashioned western music.

When I read some stories here at WA, I feel the same way, if they can do it, I SURE CAN DO IT. with the right attitude, and self-motivation, we can all do it.

This is my life now moving forward. It may take a tad bit longer not much, maybe by 3 months behind schedule, but I cannot wait to see my sites taking off, and the cashola just coming through, I claim it, it will happen!!!!!!!!!!!!

enjoyed your post very much, have a wonderful weekend.

Lol tear in your beer 😂😂😂

Yeah, I think country music has substance, I mean its not just noise. I have to say some stories are so sad and some are brutal.

But that’s life.
You are right, lets keep working hard until we see results 👍🏻👍🏻🎸🎸

Bored who?
I’m so hooked, didn’t want it to end! Thanks Rose for the sweet inspiration!
Just remembered Shania Twain : “ this job ain’t worth the pay, can’t wait till the end of the day
Hey honey I’m on my way....

Now I have to look for that song

You will enjoy it, it’s funny 😄

I found it, its called honey I am home, that's what I found on youtube, you are right, it's really funny.
Shania Twain and I have a love-hate kind of thing because I once had a boyfriend who used to drool all over the TV talking about oh Shania Twain is beautiful, she is so hot, isn't she absolutely the prettiest thing in the whole world? yeah, she is gorgeous but do I really need to hear that? lol
So anyway, he went and bought a Shania Twain DVD and let's just say it kind of mysteriously disappeared, to this day I wonder what happened to the DVD.
fun times lol

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😇 😇
I wonder what happened to the 📀!
You made my evening Rose thanks,
Glad you enjoyed the song!

Nicely worked post. I always feel that Country doesn't get a fair shake on the mainstream stations..every now and then one track just pops up out of nowhere and it makes me want for more....Beach is on the vision board.

I admit I had to read your post just from the title, it peaked my curiosity to the point that I thought "I gotta read this". And you don't bore me with country music talk. I get the point, thank you for reminding me that are many like that person in the song, so tired of overwhelming work demands that a program like WA is definitely a way out...
Thanks for sharing Rose.

Hi! Rose

This is an intertaining article and at the same time you are giving hope that one day we will get the results of working hard on our business here at WA.

Mind you, music is universal. I love both styles, Country & Western! lol

Smart

He doesn't only have lots of money he has a beautiful boat or at least did on the lake of Center Hill in Tennessee, that could house several people LOL. But, I totally understand what you are saying. Since you love country, I will share with you a bit of my past working the Nashville scene. Came close to getting a cut, but close doesn't do it in that industry either you do or don't :) But, that seems like a life time away. If you would like like to listen to some of the songs I wrote, pm I'll send a link. I don't sing or write music. I only wrote lyrics, I had co-writers and demo artists for the rest. But, the words were mostly mine :)

Your post was really intelligent, and caught my attention. Looking forward to seeing other posts you write. May you be blissfully blessed.

Oh one more note, I noticed you started out saying immediately your African woman and how it may seem strange you like country. I don't see things like that. I see a beautiful spirit that is one with the universe who has individual taste in things. One that I am proud to be in the same business, planet, and consciousness with.. Again, be blessed.

Thanks for sharing.

Great music...

Timeless...
Without borders...

Evergreens
We ll like to hear
Over and over again

The banjo
The bass guitars
And the saxophone
