It's that day again, when people feel so generous and go out of their way to show how much in love they are lol. So what are you WA fam up to on this day of lovers? I find this day very fascinating, because there are over 300 days in a year to show the one you love just how much they mean to you but we have to wait until 14th of February.

Trying To Get My Grandmother Into Valentines Mood

My earliest memory of Valentines day was when I was about 13 and I had read on a newspaper about Valentines day, I remember sharing this wonderful news with my grandmother and telling her that I was going to tell my grandfather to buy her some flowers because apparently that's what men are supposed to do according to the newspaper.

My grandmother found this very interesting and told me to sit down and tell her all about this day when all the women are supposed to wear red clothes and receive flowers.

I told her how I read that in a land far way long time ago there was a Catholic priest who was marrying couples secretly because the government had forbidden young people to get married, because of his bravery, Saint Valentine become very popular with young people of those days.

Lovers would go to him even at night so he can marry them in secret.

My Grandmother's Ideal Gift For Valentines Day

My grandmother asked me what that has to do with her, I told her that the priest was called Valentine, and so this is the day to honor saint Valentine by showing our love to each other.

At this point I got up and told my grandmother that I was gonna tell grandfather to go look for some flowers for her, to this she replied, if you are going to talk to your grandfather, about getting me something, then tell him to buy me a kilo of beef, so I can make a nice stew, but not some flowers that I am gonna give to my goats tomorrow lol

And that was that, there was no more Valentines talk lol.

I would have loved to share the lyrics of my favorite Valentines song but obviously its not allowed to copy content and then share it in WA so, I will just say that the song is really nice, and its by Martina McBride, its called my valentine.

Martina is one of my favorite singers, she has some really nice songs, there is one she sings and it makes me cry every time, she's got a lovely voice too, if I could sing like that I would never shut up lol.
