Google AdSense Here We Go Again, How To Fix Ad Text File Error?

Last Update: July 15, 2020

Its been a long time since I had ads on my websites, I had activated Google AdSense on one of my sites and I had to deactivate it because I had enabled auto ads and that was a disaster, Even I the owner of the website found it difficult to navigate the website.

There were ads everywhere. So now after spending time learning how to place ads, I have gone back to my AdSense account and added my website again, a different site this time and I am placing just one ad to start.

And then I will place more ads as time goes by. But now I have the ad text file error, and I really don't remember how I fixed it last time. I did try to follow the training that I found on the search bar but it sounds quite complicated.

So my question to you is, have you managed to fix the ad text file error yourself or did you have to contact Site Support?

Thank you in advance for your answers.

Rose.

Hi Rose,

I also contacted SiteSupport with the ads text and they kindly did the work for me.
Excellent as usual

Hey Rose,

I saw what you said below. Yes, I copied the code and gave it to sitesupport and they fixed it for me. Worked fine.

Also, if you use auto ads, you can still adjust the settings on the dashboard to control where they place and how many load on the page. That's what I did to avoid too many and the not so user-friendly placements. Also, it doesn't slow my site as much that way.

The reason I fiddled around with auto ads until I got it the way I wanted it is because I get better clicks when they control who they're showing them to instead of me placing them.

OH, Thank you Stella, this is very useful information about the auto ad feature. I gave the ad text file to Site Support and they have fixed the issue for me. For now I will stay away from the Auto ad feature, But you do raise good point, I might try it later once I learn how to control it lol

Hi Rose,
I always asked site support to fix the ads txt error for me, it would go away and then come back after a while again. I got frustrated with it and removed Adsense a long time ago, not only because of the error, but because it slowed my site down a lot.
Hopefully you have better luck than me and get it fixed.

Let's see how it goes, right now I only have one ad running. If it slows down my site I will remove it again.

The ad text file error is being fixed by Site Support as we speak. I hope the error won't keep coming back.
