Youtube Warning! :O
Last week I published a YouTube video with the title, "How to Download YouTube Videos (5 EASY Ways!)"
In the video, I showed 5 different ways to download YouTube videos:
- Downloading your own videos on YouTube studio.
- Downloading videos using your YouTube app (YouTube Premium feature).
- Donwloading YT videos using VLC Media Player
- Downloading YT videos using WinX YouTube Downloader.
- Downloading YT videos using YouTubepp
I've learned all those 5 ways from other people's YouTube videos that are still public on YouTube. You'll find them searching "How to Download YouTube Videos" and you'll see that some of those videos have got millions of views.
My video was 100% original and I didn't show any clips from other peoples videos.
In my video, I also said a disclaimer
"Remember that many videos on YouTube are copyrighted and it’s illegal to download and use them for commercial purposes without the creator’s content.
Before you download or use anything, be sure to check that it’s legal to do so."
Many other people's videos don't even give that disclaimer...
YouTube WARNING!
Today YouTube sent me the following message:
They removed my video on "How to Download YouTube Videos" and gave me a warning.
When you've never violated the rules, they first give you a warning.
Next time they'll give you a strike which means you can't publish anything for 1 week (=No videos, community posts, etc.)
If you get 3 strikes within 90 days, you'll be permanently banned from YouTube.
I Submitted an Appeal...
YouTube said in the email,
"If after reviewing your content you think we made a mistake, let us know. You can appeal this decision."
So, I've immediately submitted an appeal and let them know that I don't encourage people to do anything that would be against YouTube rules and that I gave a disclaimer that Before you download or use anything, be sure to check that it’s legal to do so.
Let's see how the process goes...
If they don't accept the appeal and restore the video, I'll probably try to reach YouTube support and ask for the reason why my video was removed even though there are numerous videos on YouTube showing exactly the same strategies on downloading YouTube videos.
Let me know in the comments if you wanna hear the outcome once I get a response from YouTube.

PS. I'd love to hear from you.
Have YOU ever received a warning or strike on YouTube?
What was the reason and did you appeal?
Tell me in the comments below!
PPS. I have published 930+ YouTube videos before getting this first warning.

Update after 1 day:
I clicked "Appeal". YouTube refused it. I contacted the support and they said they'll re-review it and come back to me through email.
They said it usually takes a couple of days but sometimes longer. I'll update once I'll hear back from them.

Good for you Roope, it's great to see a David take on a Goliath but use caution and avoid anger.
They'll hide behind broad statements and use AI to assess your appeal with no emotional involvement: "Computer Says No".
For you it's a business, part of your livelihood and the right thing to do - GOOD LUCK; I'd love to know what happens.

Let us know how it goes with the appeal. I received a warning about a year ago and the reason was it was deceptive - you know my videos and know they are definitely the opposite. They still rejected my appeal and I have tried several times to get an answer from the YT creator support about why. Because as you know there are so many obvious lying videos and yet for some reason they choose one of mine and gave me a warning.
The only answer I kept getting after writing them quite a lot was that I could read their guidelines but they do not tell people the exact reasons. I told them that it is kind of like getting stopped by the police and given a fine and then be told to read the law to find out exactly why:-) but still all they could do was to share a link to their general guidelines:-)
Hope they will accept your appeal and if not then maybe you will have more luck with their support.
I almost suspect that they at some point just want to give all channels a warning to kind of tell them to watch out:-) But still strange that some channels seem to easily be able to publish outright lies every day without consequences.
But happy that they at least have the warning system and do not just ban like FB even though the system might sometimes be confusing.
Good morning Roope,
I'm sorry to hear what has happened to you regarding YouTube, Roope. You definitely don't deserve this, especially as you've been working so hard and genuinely trying to do things right.
I believe that so many of the social media platforms have become very politically correct or unreasonable and many of the rules and regulations don't add up. As I've mentioned before, I see people I follow regularly having their videos removed especially if they are political or Christian!
As we know, YouTube is a great platform, however, it's also important that we make our own website our priority platform as we never know what can happen.
I do hope that you have a satisfactory outcome to the issue, you definitely deserve it.
Have a great day.
Roy
Hey Roope
I think you have done incredibly well so far, 930+ YouTube videos without receiving a warning - you must be doing something really right. I am sure YouTube will take that into account with this warning.
YouTube doesn't even know I exist yet, but that is going to be changing soon.
Thank you for sharing your experience. Yes, I do want to hear about the outcome.
Blessings
Louise
