In the last post I promised to give you a review of the Tony Robbins Unleash The Power Within (UPW) seminar.

I've just published a comprehensive +2,500-word review of it in my own blog but I'd like to share with you here 1 powerful tip that already feels life-changing to me.

(I had to leave the seminar too early because I became sick during the 1st day's firewalk. It was so cold outside and I hadn't prepared enough clothes. But I got a ticket to next year's event so I will be able to attend all 4 days.)

Get Out of the "SELF-BEATERS' CLUB"!

There were 2 speakers: Tony Robbins & Joseph McClendon III.

Joseph talked about self-beaters' club that most achievers are part of.

Have you ever felt like you are not doing enough?

Even though objectively you should feel great but you start beating yourself because you're not doing better.

Let me give you a very practical example from my own life.

For example, last year I made it to Wealthy Affiliate Vegas Conference and it felt awesome but sometimes I was still beating myself up and had an inner talk, "Why didn't you achieve it earlier? Why didn't you make more sales? etc."

Another example: You do 10 great things during the day and you're beating yourself for the 1 mistake that you made.

I really recognize that I've been myself in the "self-beaters' club".

However, that's NOT good. You must get out of that club for several reasons.

Let me tell you what we must do instead:

Reward Yourself Even for the Smallest Accomplishments.

When you achieve anything, you can say to yoursefl, "Good job!"

Next time after publishing a new blog post, give yourself some credit for it. Or just after answering 5 important emails or messages.

It doesn't matter how small the positive action is. By 'rewarding yourself' for positive actions and accomplishemnts you create a positive association for doing it.

When you stop beating yourself up and instead you reward yourself, you'll feel immediately better.

That will help you to take more action in the future and you'll feel happier in life.

Notice this:

You don't need to give "huge rewards" for yourself.

Just a small pat in your back or high five with yourself can be a reward and make you feel good. It does not need to be complicated.

Of course, if you achieve something greater, you can also reward yourself more. In Vegas Kyle & Carson really rewarded us big time which felt literally amazing.

--

Quick Conclusion

  1. Get out of the self-beaters club.
  2. Reward yourself for taking even small positive actions or for achieving even small things.
  3. Give yourself a pat on the back or high five with yourself.
  4. => You have created a positive association with taking action and achieving things

Now it's time to hear from you!

Have you been part of the self-beaters club?

Are you ready to stop beating yourself and giving yourself credit even for the smallest accomplishments?

Let us know in the comments below!

Cheers

Roope "left from the self-beaters club" Kiuttu

I've been looking forward to this post. I'm sorry that you were not able to stay for the entire event.

I'll check out your full review on your website. I'll leave a better comment there too.

Thanks for sharing. I suspect that you have made a lot of us that we may have a very bad habit that we haven't even noticed.

Thanks Sondra! I'm pleased to hear that.

Yeah, Joseph talked about this in a very powerful way that it really sinked in my mind.

Yes that's me. Guilty as charged! I agree that we can be our own worst enemies. It's so important to recognizes all that we've done right instead of focusing on the bad.

Too bad you became ill but it sounds like you managed to get some value out of it anyways. Plus you'll have another opportunity to attend again without needing to pay twice.

Erica

Yes! :)

Thanks for sharing this! It is past time I removed myself from the self-beaters club!

Max

Great to hear Max that you're out of that club! ;)

Really great read Roope,

I think I helped create the "self-beaters" sign...

After reading your post, I took the time to look back and WRITE DOWN the things that I had accomplished... It really helped me look at what I'm doing now and seeing the possibility of success!

Thanks for taking the time and sharing this very important step with us!

Marc

Awesome Marc! You're immediately putting it into action!

I am guilty as well.

But thank to the Tony Robbins I started to consciously realized that as well. But I have not had a chance to attend his UPW seminar yet.

I have his Personal Power II as mp3 and I was listening one of his lesson in a car when I felt like a s*it.
(that was the reason why I wanted to listen that, actually)

I was listening that specific lesson for 5th time already. It was 3 weeks ago and when he touched this "self-beating club" part, I realized that he talks to me.
- I don't mean like he was there - no nothing like that:)

I was asking myself, could that be me? And I found out quite quickly, that yes - I am "the one" as well.

I mean I still have tendency to do that, but since I realize it know consciously, I am able to get away from that state quite easily.

But I would love to attend his seminar because of the energy that is generated there - it must be a GREAT experience.

Great for you Roope that you can attend his seminar again:)
You might then unleash the power 1.5x more than others

Thumbs up
Have a great Easter - wherever you are
Cheers
Mike

Thanks for sharing Michal! I also love listening to Tony Robbins audios. Some of them I've listened like +30 times :D

oh good to know :)
I thought I was the only one lol

Cheers

Amazing Post! I am always thinking Life is a Celebration, so Much Beauty and Glory in Everything We Do, Say and Think!

I love that !

I can totally relate to it as I do it very often. I actually did beat myself up just yesterday for not completing a herculen task on time but rewarded nothing for completing 80% of that which was also a great achievement which was previously only 10-20% most of the time. Thanks for the share. I will start practicing to acknowledge my small achievements so that I can also attach "left from the self-beaters club" with my name too. :)

Great practical application Avinash!

Boy, can I relate to this I am my worse critic, and never feel as though I have done enough, and beat myself constantly.
I think I do this more now, than before. When I was raising my 3 daughters alone, without any help from their father, it was a mindset in me, that I felt the need to excel at EVERYTHING, because I was 2 people in one, and I needed to achieve everything to be a GOOD MOTHER.

Now, I am living for myself, alone, but not a bad thing, I want to be the best for ME! While I am doing 3 businesses at one time, WA being one of them, I feel as though I should be far more along than I am in my life. I stay up till all hours of the night, and daily am multi-tasking all 3.
As of 2 weeks ago, I chose to stop and restructure my life and my direction. I am not at the speed I want to be, but I feel more in control, and will accomplish my goal, and GRAB THAT GOLDEN RING! Yesterday, I worked on WA for a good 4 hrs straight. I took the afternoon off, and took in a movie, and a small lunch.
Came home, relaxed and wrote in my journal for my book, then got back on to WA last night for another 3 hrs. I feel balanced. No matter if I finish the challenge for the 1 st month of SUPER CHALLENGE 2019, in 5th place or 50th place, I got it!.

Thank you for your post, and for allowing me to share my journey.
By the way TONY ROBBINS is one of my 3 top speakers I listen to DAILY. He happened to live one city over from where I live in California. Glendora/ Azusa.

One of the best speakers I have ever heard, and he makes you really think, about the possibilities of our greatness. We need to find it, and EMBRACE IT!

hAVE A BLESSED DAY AND EASTER AS WELL.

Wow, that sounds like a motivationakl talk! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Carla! I think I'm going to work hard this weekend :)

Im beating my self up cause ive not looked 2 do this b4 now.

You can be thankful that you've found this now at least! Feels much better, right? hehe :D

You bet & i want 2 make millions

That sounds like the same thing I have learned. Become a life coach for yourself which also allows you to help others.

True!
