Lessons from January - YouTube Traffic Is Different Than Google!

I want to continue the monthly updates that I started doing last year. It means that every month I write something about my progress and something what I have learned. Now January is gone and it's time for the first monthly update for this year!

Evaluating Actions - Shifting the Direction

In 2017 I was doing, doing, doing. I made good progress but now in January I wanted to take some time and think what should I be doing. Like Jim Rohn says, "You've been doing, doing, doing BUT DOING WHAT?" What actions do give the best results? If you get x-result for doing the thing A and y-results doing the thing B, you should evaluate which one is a better one.

Last year I published 350 blog posts on my make money online website but now in January I published much less. I want to get soon a regular writer for my website so new content keeps on coming even though I would be concentrating on other things.

At the moment there are HUGE opportunities in the world of cryptocurrencies so I have decided to put my main focus there. I decided that most of my content will now be about cryptocurrencies on my website and YouTube channel. I will also write about other things related to making money online but the main focus will be on cryptos.

Interesting Findings About YouTube!

Google is a pretty stable source of traffic. It steadily grows when your site gets more authority over the time course and you publish new content. Even though you would take a break from posting new content, the traffic may still keep on growing because the results come sometimes with a little delay.

I once posted only 1 post in 4 months on one of my sites and the organic traffic still kept on growing because I had put the effort before and I kept on answering comments.

I was taught that YouTube works in the same way like Google but I realized that's not true!

When I stopped posting new YouTube videos in January, I immediately experienced the drop in views. Now a few days ago I started publishing videos again and the traffic spikes again.

Google often ranks the authority content highest even though it's a bit older but YouTube seems to put more emphasis on new the new content. The channel authority plays a huge role as well but YouTube seems to like the fresh content a lot. That has been my and other people's experience as well. Have you experienced the same?

Therefore, I have now decided posting at least 1 new video every single day. I want to start building my YouTube channel more to get more authority and influence. I think that videos are a great way to influence people. Overall, my goal in life is to influence positively to millions of people all over the world.

I love one teaching from Jim Rohn when he was already an old man. He explained that when he was a young man, he set himself a goal that he wants to affect millions. Then he smiled big and said, "Now I have achieved this goal and I have helped millions of people during my life."

Now he is dead but his legacy still lives and I have learned tons of things from his teachings. I want to be able to say the same words like Jim Rohn when I will be an old man, "I helped millions of people during my life."

First Udemy Course

In January I also published my first Udemy course. It's called "Make Money with Cryptocurrencies in 2018 - A Solid Strategy".

I may publish even more Udemy courses in the future depending on the results of this course. I will evaluate the results and decide whether it will be worth it. I have heard from experienced Udemy instructors that the success accumulates on the platform. In the other words, it's easier to make lots of sales when you have 10 courses instead of 1. Udemy ranks your courses higher and people more likely buy because you have created more courses.

Anyway, I think that I will use now most of my time on studying new cryptocurrencies and opportunities in that world. I strongly believe that we will see the mass adoption in the future and it may be that after 20 years we pay in cryptocurrencies instead of euros and dollars.
