I have 18,986 days left - What about YOU?

Last Update: March 24, 2019

Because you're here at Wealthy Affiliate, I assume that you want more out of your life.

You want, for example

  • Make more money online
  • Have more freedom in your life
  • Travel the world and live the 'laptop lifestyle'
  • Earn passive income
  • Provide a better life for your family
  • Etc.

But there's something you must know.

ACT NOW! THERE'S NOT MUCH TIME LEFT! (Read further to understand what I mean)

Let me share with you a key thought that I learned in Passion For Success Conference last weekend in Helsinki. I promised you to write this in my last post here: +$2,200 in 20 hours - This Works!

I have 19,016 days left - What about you?

An average person in a rich Scandinavian country Finland lives only around 30,000 days (women live 30,660 days and men 28,506 days on average).

I'll be 26 years in April so I quickly calculated that I have now around 18,986 days left on average of my life.

If you're older than me, you most likely have less days left. On average.

It's not very much, right?

For me it gives a sense of urgency.

Whatever is your dream, ACT NOW! THERE'S NOT MUCH TIME LEFT!

You're here at Wealthy Affiliate because you want to build an online business and have more freedom. Don't hesitate with your dream.

  • Go through Kyle's step-by-step training diligently and take a consistent action.
  • Write & publish a new post on your website
  • Create a new YouTube video
  • Learn a new high-income skill
  • Help more people
  • Etc.

Whatever takes you forward, take action immediately and every day.

There's also another extremely important point related to this:

The Earlier You Start, The GREATER RESULTS You Get

Have you heard of the compound interest? In short, it's interest in top of your interest.

It's often used when talking about investing money but you should also apply the same idea to building your online business and your life in general.

The earlier you start (investing or building your online business in your case), the greater compound interest you'll get.

Take a look at the chart below (It talks about investing but apply the same idea to your online business!)

The Action You TODAY Is 10x More Valuable Than The Action You Do TOMORROW!

Let's say that you write a blog post today and it ranks on Google.

It will immediately start generating you traffic and income.

Then you can use that money to make you more income (for example by outsourcing more articles or by investing it elsewhere).

Imagine if you'd procrastinate and write that article after 1 year. Even though it still could get ranked on Google it isn't as good at all anymore. You missed the best chance already.

Because if you procrastinate for 1 year, you have lost tons of profits and the potential profits that you had made after re-investing your money.

In addition, if you don't take any action today, you'll most likely also procrastinate tomorrow. Remember always:

The Action You TODAY Is 10x More Valuable Than The Action You Do TOMORROW!

In a nutshell, there are 2 reasons for that:

  1. You'll reap fruits for a longer time for your actions. (compound interest)
  2. If you don't take action now, you may not take action later.

Conclusion - ACT NOW, Don't Waste Your Time!

You don't have too much time on this Earth.

It's NOW time to pursue your goals & dreams.

I have on average 18,986 days left on this Earth. What about you? 20,000? 15,000? 10,000? 5,000? We don't have much time left so it's important to take the most out of it.

When you take action now, you'll reap the rewards the results of the compound interest in your online business.

The work you do now will pay you rewards still 5 and 10 years from now. Especially when you're doing Internet marketing and building your own online business.

The articles or YouTube videos that I created 2-3 years ago are still generating me a nice income. And they will keep on generating me income for years to come.

Always take action.

Never quit.

Enjoy the life of your dreams! :)

Hello Robert,

Thank you for the great and thought-provoking blog post, it actually makes life on this earth seem shorter than it actually is when you look at it by the number of days left! I have considerably fewer days left than yourself!

I actually totally agree with what you're saying, it's great that your YouTube videos are still making money and I'm sure many of your posts are too!

It's important to take action now and not leave it till tomorrow as tomorrow never comes!

Enjoy your day.

Roy

At 82.4 years of age, according to your figures, I should be dead, but is that going to stop me? NO !!! It only makes me more determined than ever to succeed! As I said when I first joined WA over a year ago, I will work hard consistently to become at least one of if not the oldest person ever to prove that this is possible.

Thanks Roope for continuing to remind all of us how important it is to take action NOW and NEVER GIVE UP !

Hi Roope... you sound like a numbers kind of guy! I don’t want to try to figure how many days I have left on this Earth... I’d rather it be a surprise! LOL
I do so agree that the action taken TODAY is much greater than the ACTION taken tomorrow.
I try to live in the PRESENT moment.
Our life is a gift and only we can decide how we want to live it.
Thanks for the inspiring post.

Hello Roope,

I love your post and view you have presented.

Like Sondra said nothing is guaranteed in terms of living for x amount of days. Yet by not taking action today and publishing our posts we will not benefit from the fruits of our labor.

Time for me to take action and invest in my future and that of my family's.

Have a great Sunday!

Proud papa of two,

Jody

I choose to be weird. I don't want to calculate how much time that I might have left. I want to try to live each day to the fullest. Because unfortunately, not everyone gets to live an average lifespan. Nothing is promised.

That said, I've got over a hundred posts sitting in draft stage waiting on me to finish up something. (I write and save my thoughts in draft so that I don't forget my ideas.) This last month the number of draft posts increased rather than decreased.

Yet, your post reminds me that is like having cash hidden in a coffee can under my bed. I'm not earning interest on any of my draft posts.

Yet, if I focus and start getting them published; then they can start earning interest and dividends.

Thanks for sharing the most memorable things you learned at the conference.

That sounds great Sondra! Yeah, it's definitely not required to calculate the days, just did it for making the point :)

According to my calculations, I have approximately 12,045 days left to live Roope. I better get my arse into gear. As I'm in my 8th month of my new site, I believe another 300 days could get me to a good position. That should allow me 11,700 odd days to enjoy freedom! Little pain for lots of gain.

I needed to read this, I tend to procrastinate - a lot. I talk myself out of doing what I know I should. But I'm working on it.

Statistical results can never be used for one particular case.

That's also true Jovo. But that doesn't deny the fact that the life is short, right? :)

We had a poet who wrote something that could be translated as "blessed are those who live forever". He wanted to say those who become immortal.

There is a quote from a French movie "To become immortal, and then die".

The point is, it is the quality of life and not the number of days. Did you know that Schubert died at the age of 31 and Mozart at 35. This was enough to become immortal. But I guess they would not mind getting to the number you mentioned.

Great post Roope, and it really is a great wake up call to remind us that life is short and we are never guaranteed another day on this Earth.

So whatever your dreams may be, act now to make them happen -- because tomorrow might be too late. :)

Exactly! I may not even have +18,000 days so it's better to act without hesitation

Well it seems my time is drawing near, yikes. Best to get busy!
Thanks. A fun way to get me motivated for sure.
I went to get my Masters degree in the USA when I was 50. People ask why. Well if I put off going for another year I will have lost all that time and be farther from my goal. So NOW is the time to take action. I'm with you! Linda

Anyway, good post!

Yes, you are right. It is important to take some kind of helpful action each and every day.

I have much less time than you, as I am much older. Therefore, I have more of a sense of urgency...a good tool, as it helps keep me on track. Though I am on the short track, can only do one day at a time, and keep moving forward. Actionable time on the business.

Yeah, a sense of urgency can be a good thing when building a business.

Roope, the way you write is so much fun!
We have fewer days left than you but we are working hard to make them count!
The world is your oyster and you are cracking it open and going for it. We are so impressed with you.
We are also on our road to success, maybe just a little slower than you. But we will never, never give up!
Thanks for all that super energy of yours!
