How I Gained 4,807 YouTube Subscribers with ONE Video
Yesterday I was taking a look at YouTube Analytics and noticed that one video had generated over 4,800 subscribers for my channel.
It's not a record since I have some videos that have generated over 5,000 subscribers each but this is one of the best ones for sure.
I wanted to give you the steps how I did it so you can do the same.
Nowadays I use this same plan usually for all of my videos.
1) Choose a Keyword
The planning of my EVERY video starts with choosing a keyword.
My goal is to get ranked on YouTube under specific keywords and get views for months and years to come.
With some videos I aim under keywords that will get lots of views & subscribers.
With other videos, I target keywords that will probably make more money.
Typical keywords for videos that will get a lot of views & subscribers are, for example, "how to" keywords or "review" keywords for ultra-popular products.
Typical keywords for videos that will make a lot of money are, for example, "review" or "tutorial" keywords for great products that convert well.
With this video that gained over 4,800 subscribers, I found the keyword by looking at other channels within my niche.
I looked at which keywords are giving them the most views and chose one of the most popular ones.
Once you've chosen the keyword, it's time to move to step #2.
2) Plan a Video
Now you'll choose the "story" and a message for your video.
What's the transformation that you want your viewers to go through?
What's the main message that your video wants to convey?
Once you have that clear in your mind it's easy to create the script for the video.
My videos generally follow this structure:
1) Intro/Hook
(Optional: Quick Call to action)
2) 4-7 Subheadings
3) Call To Action
Under each subheading I will talk about some specific topic.
Most of the time, I don't write scripts word-for-word. I use bullet points and may write some sentences fully.
The video that gained me over 4,800 subscribers with one video also followed this structure.
3) Record The Video
On YouTube, you can make money in a few different ways.
1) Make money moving your mouth (=Talk)
2) Make money moving your fingers (=Create videos without talking, for example from short clips online)
3) Make money letting others to do the work (=Hire people to move their mouth or fingers)
I think the easiest method is to make money moving your mouth = talking.
That's also how I did this specific video that we're talking about right now.
Hit "Record" on your camera and say what you want to say.
Once you're ready, you'll move to the next step.
4) Optimize & Publish the Video
You have 3 options:
1) No editing.
2) Edit yourself.
3) Let someone else edit the video for you.
I use #3.
I upload videos that I recorded to Google Drive and he delivers me the ready video that I can publish to YouTube.
Before publishing you'll add tags, description, thumbnail, etc.
Then you click "Publish".
5) Earn Money AUTOMATICALLY
This is probably the best part ;)
Once you've published the video it can start generating you money for months and years to come.
You can think of each video as individual money-making machines.
Each video that you publish can be a money-making machine that generates dollars for you automatically.
Each video can also bring you subscribers for months and years to come.
The video that I'm talking about in this blog post was quite successful since the beginning and generated almost 500 subscribers in the first 2.5 months.
But notice that now it has generated 10 times more than that.
And as the time goes by, this individual video may generate even more than 10,000 subscribers in total. And even more dollars than that.

I hope you enjoyed it!

Hi Roope! 👋🏻 I’m confused at how you are making money “automatically” just from publishing a video? How? You mentioned that you add, tags, description and thumbnail etc… but you didn’t indicate “Affiliate links” in the Description? As the way money is earned. So I’m wondering.
Or are you saying …just by publishing a video and getting subscribers…YouTube will send you money?
Please help me understand!
Thanks
Great question Holly! You can choose which method you want to use to monetize your videos. I use mostly affiliate marketing so copy-paste an affiliate link in the description. Since you're Premium Plus, you'll be able to watch my class below on how to monetize YouTube videos: 7 POWERFUL Ways to Make Money on YouTube
Hi Roope. Thanks for sharing that - very useful. I hope you have even more success with the video. I'm sure you will.

Very awesome, indeed, Roope! How much would you say it cost to hire someone to edit the video for you, and also, where did you hire them from? Just curious!
Jeff
The scale for any service include editing varies a lot depending on the quality you're looking for. I found my main editor on Upwork in 2019. Upwork is a great place to find editors and you can choose your price there also depending on your budget.
Often it's better to hire people who live in countries where the cost of living in cheaper because they charge less for the same service/quality.
Love it, Roope. YouTube is going to be a key part of my marketing strategy moving forward. I've made a start but will be ramping it up and I'm really looking forward to it. Thanks Roope, when I see what you and other super affiliates are doing with YouTube it really gives me a boost.
Thanks so much. I always appreciate your posts.
Cheers

Good morning Roope,
I hope you're doing well. Thank you for the YouTube video tips.
I must admit, you make YouTube sound very simple, however, I appreciate that, as humans, we have a tendency to overcomplicate! It's good to learn from someone who has been there and done that!
That's amazing that you have had so many subscribers from one video! It just shows what can be achieved when we put our mind to something!
Have a great day.
Roy
Thank you very much Roy!
It's always a pleasure, Roope.
