One of the most famous "fake gurus" in the world called Kevin David along with David Shawn Arnett have been attacked by FTC.

You may have seen his YouTube videos, Facebook ads or Instagram ads.

I have never bought any of his courses or programs but a few years ago I almost bought from him because I hadn't researched back then how he's deceiving people. Luckily I didn't buy... Would have probably been just a waste of money and a distraction. Later I saw his YouTube videos and found out that there are lots of false claims.

Here's what the FTC’s complaint alleges that he's done:

  1. Deceived them about potential earnings:
  2. Suppressed Negative Reviews.
  3. Didn't provide required disclosures.

Here's what they should do (according to FTC):

  1. Back up their claims.
  2. Stop deceiving consumers.
  3. Stop interfering with reviews and complaints.
  4. Provide money for refunds. The defendants would be required to provide at least $2.6 million to the FTC to be used to refund consumers.

You can read more details on the FTC website.

The FTC article says in the end, "The order includes a total monetary judgment of nearly $53 million, which was partially suspended due to an inability to pay. If the defendants are found to have lied about their financial condition, then the full amount of the judgment would be immediately due."

It seems that FTC is also closing down Kevin David's "Amazon FBA Automation business" programs.

I guess that Kevin David will still continue selling other programs. I am not gonna buy any of his stuff.

Ignore Fake Gurus - Focus on Wealthy Affiliate

Over the years, lots of "fake gurus" have been charged by FTC. Many programs have gone down. Two big ones that collapsed 4.5 years ago were Digital Altitude and MOBE.

Wealthy Affiliate has been founded in 2005 = 17+ years ago.

During those years surely thousands of programs have popped up and disappeared. Wealthy Affiliate stands strong.

To give you some perspective, here are some of the companies that are newer than Wealthy Affiliate:

  1. Instagram
  2. Twitter
  3. Pinterest
  4. TikTok
  5. Telegram
  6. Snapchat
  7. Quora
  8. WhatsApp
  9. Etc.

Wealthy Affiliate was founded before any of those companies. You can verify that information on Google by searching "When was ______ founded" and you'll see it yourself.

Ah, I remember MOBE. I needed to save the money to pay... by the time I saved it, they were shut down! :-)

Thanks for sharing Roope on one of the beaches in the world!

Good that it was shut down before that
😃

I went through the Digital Altitude sales funnel in 2017 and talked with their sales representative/coach.

After doing the research, I made a video claiming their system looks like a pyramid scheme and sent it to the sales representative/coach. He started insulting me with all the bad names and said that Digital Altitude is far from a pyramid scheme, etc.

A few months after that, FTC shut down Digital Altitude. 😂

Thanks for sharing Roope! I've been very close to getting scammed a few times. Its scary. Research is crucial!
