EARN $5,000month online. But How?

There are many different ways to make money online but they’re far from equal.

A lot of people fall into the mistake of just looking at the dollar number = Salary.

For example, they see a business model that pays potentially $10,000/month and the other one pays $5,000/month. Then they think automatically that the model that pays $10,000/month is automatically better.

That couldn’t be further from the truth.

Revenue is just one of many metrics of the business that you should consider when deciding your future career path.

If you also look at these other variables, you are like a wise man who built his house on rock rather than on sand.

Let’s start with the easy one:

1) Revenue OR Profit?

You may see often Internet marketers touting that they’re making x amount of dollars in y days. Their ad may say, “I just earned $13,521 in 3 days! Copy my business model!” Then they sell you a course for $997.

Making $13,521 in 3 days sounds wonderful… But what if he spent $15,000 on advertising?

Now it starts to look a little bit different…

In this case, the ad should say, “See how I spent hours setting up my business, ads and all the systems just to lose $1,479!” But of course, they will never tell you this if they’re trying to sell you an expensive course and earn their money back.

Of course, that’s just an extreme example but let’s have a look at a few real examples.

Let’s say that 3 people make $5,000/month revenue. But in reality their profits are vastly different. Which one of these 3 people in this example is earning the most PROFITS?

1. $5,000/month from an affiliate website (95% of the visitors comes organically from Google).
   
2. $5,000/month from affiliate marketing but 90% of it comes from paid traffic sources (Google, Facebook and YouTube ads)
   
3. $5,000/month from an eCommerce store where he earns only 20% profit for each product sold.

In this example, the first one is obviously making MUCH MORE money than the other 2 even though we can say that all of them earn $5,000/month.

In fact, his profit is AT LEAST 5 times bigger than the eCommerce store owner. In fact, if that eCommerce guy would like to get to the same level, he would need to make $25,000/month revenue.

Remember this next time when you see some eCommerce guy trying ot brag with big numbers and sell his overpriced course! (Many of them make the majority of their profits from those courses rather than eCommerce sales!)

2) Active Income vs Passive Income

Active income means that you earn money only when you work. When you stop working, your income stops coming in.

Passive income means that you earn that money even while you are not actively working anymore. If you stop working, you will make money for months, years or even decades to come!

When you consider starting a new money-making strategy, ask this question: “Is that passive income or active income?”

Let’s take practical examples again:

• A coach makes $10,000/month.
• Your affiliate website makes $5,000/month.
  
• => Which one would YOU take?

I would take the second one every day of the week!

Why?

For several reasons.

1) $150,000+ immediately...

With that kind of affiliate site, you can go anytime to Empire Flippers or Flippa and sell it for $150,000 - $200,000.

It will take 1,5 YEARS from that coach to make the same amount of money while you have already been building new businesses or taking your family to a trip around the world.

2) What If You Stop Working?

Let’s say that you and the coach decide to stop working for any reason. (Perhaps you want to spend more time with the people you love or you can’t work because you got an illness.)

The income of that coach drops immediately from $10,000/month to $0/month.

Your website’s income will probably stay the same $5,000/month for a couple of months until it slowly starts going downwards. Chances are that it will make you money every single month for more than a decade.

3) How Many Responsibilities Do You Have?

When you compare different business models, you’ll recognize that the amount of work is completely different. Again, that $5,000/month is superior compared to $5,000/month from other business models.

As an affiliate marketer, your task in a nutshell is to get a prospect to click your link. That’s the activity that will pay you money.

If you have a website or a YouTube channel where you have uploaded content, it will make you money on autopilot even though you would be taking your loved ones for a holiday and you wouldn’t check it for months.

If someone builds an Amazon FBA store here are just a couple of responsibilities:

1. Research and contact producers in China and make sure that they sent products to Amazon warehouse to the US.
2. Calculate that you’ll make a profit in the process.
3. Wait that the products are shipped.
4. Create listings on Amazon.
5. Market the listings.
6. Etc. Etc.

If you have a dropshipping store, you also need to handle customer support and all that kind of stuff.

Do you see again a vast difference?

4) What Are Your Values & Priorities?

The purpose of any business is to provide value to the marketplace but that value can mean so many different things.

People value things differently. For example, many people would argue that certain tobacco products don’t bring any value to the marketplace. They only make people’s health worse.

That’s again an extreme example but the same phenomenon happens in many different forms. For example, there are a lot of online scammers who make their income deceitfully. They promise you a moon from the sky but deliver you almost nothing.

Making $1,000/month honestly is in my opinion better than making $10,000/month deceitfully or by providing products that make people’s health worse.

Or let’s say that someone is a social butterfly and loves interacting with people while another person prefers to spend most of his time without interacting with anyone. These people will probably want to have different kinds of career paths.

With affiliate marketing, you have FREEDOM OF CHOICE.

I know affiliate marketers that make big money online but nobody knows their names. You can build a website and you never need to show your face or name if you don’t want to. You never need to talk to anyone if you don’t want to.

Alternatively you can become an influencer that everyone knows.

Or choose something between those two extremes.

With many other professions you don’t have such freedom of choice.

5) Earn $5,000/month but pay $2,000/month rent?

This comparison is more related to making money online vs making money in a 9-5 job.

I have been shocked when I’ve seen YouTube videos where they show how much apartments cost in the major cities in the US.

In many cities and countries around the world you’ll get a comfortable apartment for $500/month. In many cases $1,500/month will give you a luxurious apartment with all the amenities you can imagine.

However, if you are stuck in a major city in the US, you may need to pay $1,500/month just for a basic apartment.

That price difference doesn’t only apply to apartments but to everything else in life.

When I’m in Finland (in my home country) and if I want to order food, it can easily cost me $20-30 per meal with a delivery (I use dollars in this example because most WA members use dollars).

In many other countries I can get the same meal for $5-$10. Now that is 3 times cheaper for the same meal!

Or if I want to have a professional massage in Finland, it would cost me minimum $70-80/hour. While in Hoi An Vietnam I was able to get a massage for $20 from one of the best places in town with stones, tea and all great stuff. (Needless to say that Hoi An is one of my favorite places on Earth! It’s absolutely beautiful!)

I got a haircut in Finland. It took me 30-40 minutes and cost me $30. I got a haircut in Hoi An and it cost me $5 AND they give you a relaxing shoulder massage as a FREE BONUS!

Pro tip! In low-cost countries barbers are often faster and more skillful because they need to cut so much in order to earn a basic salary. In high-cost countries they often have less experience because they earn the same money faster.

I could continue these examples on and on…

But which one would you take?

$5,000/month from a 9-5 job where you are stuck in one location OR $5,000/month online and you can be anywhere in the world?

When you have the location independence, your cost of living goes down while your quality of living goes higher. After visiting in 40 countries, I can tell you that a higher price doesn’t give you a higher quality. Location makes the biggest difference.
