Culture of Progress at Wealthy Affiliate: Do at least 1 thing EVERY DAY!
Dean Graziosi often says,
"My worst nightmare would be waking up 1 year from now and being in the exact same place as I am today."
The point is that every single year he wants to level up.
In the online communities that Dean has created he often talks about the "culture of progress".
The point is that you make small progress consistently that adds up to big results in the long run. And think about the huge results collectively if everyone in the community makes some progress.
I believe that here in Wealthy Affiliate we also have that "culture of progress" because everyone is pushing forward day by day, week by week, month by month and year by year.
The key is not to "drop off" but keep on making that progress consistently.
My Simple Example with Portuguese Language
In the last 95 days, I've practiced the Portuguese with Duolingo. A little bit each day. Sometimes just 5 minutes. Sometimes 30 minutes. At most 60 minutes.
But that's every single day.
Guess how much I've progressed with Portuguese during these 95 days? A LOT!
What if I continue the same for the next 95 days? What if I commit to learning at least 5 minutes per day?
How much will I progress per day? Not much.
How much will I progress in 95 days? A LOT.
=> Small actions every day add up to big results in the long run.
It doesn't matter if it's just 5 minutes per day if you do it consistently.
In reality, if you commit doing at least 5 minutes per day, you'll do much more on most days. Committing to 5 minutes per day is just to get you started because that's the hardest part.
You could even commit yourself to do something for just 1 minute each day. And I'm pretty sure that you'll end up doing much, much more than 1 minute per day because you've got started. You'll get the momentum and soon you're doing 10 minutes, 20 minutes, 30 minutes or even 100 minutes per day.
The reason why I'm studying Portuguese is that my plan to travel to Brazil after coronavirus is over and I'll be able to understand local people and communicate with them fluently. Portuguese is also very close to Spanish that I can already speak fluently so learning Portuguese hasn't been very challenging.
Applying This to Your Online Business
Don't beat yourself up if you don't get results in a week or two.
Commit yourself to make at least some small actions EVERY SINGLE DAY that takes you closer to your most important goals.
The point is doing it EVERY SINGLE DAY.
Here are 3 simple real-life examples:
1. Going through the whole Wealthy Affiliate training for a new member may feel overwhelming...
What if you'd commit to finishing just 1 task in the training each day? Before you begin to notice, you've completed the whole training.
2. Building an email follow up to your email list may feel overwhelming...
What if you'd commit to adding just 1 email per day to your email follow up? You may easily end up writing more than 1 if you just get started.
3. Getting 1 million YouTube subscribers may feel like an impossible task...
What if you'd commit to publishing just 1 video per week (or per day) and see how far you can go? (I'm currently publishing 1 video per day and that's literally starting to skyrocket the views and subscribers on my channel)
My Message to Those Starting Out at Wealthy Affiliate
Don't say to yourself, "I'm gonna try this for just 1 month and if it doesn't work, I'll quit." because if you do that, you'll most likely just quit.
Say to yourself, "I'm gonna make some small progress every day and see how much I can achieve in 1 year."
If you have that attitude, you'll most likely build an online business that changes your life. You'll get initial breakthroughs and build the habit of doing something every day which is essential for success.

You are so right Roope, the reason why people said it does not work for me; it is really down to consistency-
Each day, aim to do a task even for 5 minutes. I need to do this for myself. I am yet to complete the training and time is flying away.

Great post Roope. I initially took Spanish off my To-do-list & I added it again. I know, I have 5-30 minutes in my 16+ hour days. Talking about learning languages, I have tried to learn conversational Spanish for long now but apart from learning a few words here and there, I haven't made much progress as I don't have anyone to converse with. And I have slacked off.
Roope, your post is quite inspiring. I have to get back on the Spanish wagon and get better everyday, bit by bit.
