Build SYSTEMS to Increase the Value of Your Online Business!

Have you ever found yourself doing the same thing over and over again?

When you are building an online business (or any business), you sometimes catch yourself repeating the same actions.

  1. Writing similar titles and sub-titles in your articles.
  2. Writing similar reviews over and over again.
  3. Adding the same "Like + Subscribe + Share" things to your YouTube video manually.
  4. Responding the same question 10 times.
  5. Responding similar emails 20 times.
  6. Etc. Etc. Etc.

When you are doing new things, you are usually learning fast.

But if you keep in on doing the same thing over and over again, you most likely don't learn anything new. You may also start feeling overwhlemed.

In addition, you may start limiting yourself from learning more advanced things and scaling your business.

That's why I recommend that you build systems. (I learned this concept originally from Patrick Bet-David on Valuetainment YouTube channel.)

Let me explain what does this mean and how you can apply it immediately to increase the value of your online business.

What Is a System?

System is a structure that simplifies the process of doing something.
Let me give you a few examples:

  1. A template for review articles on your website.
  2. Step-by-step instructions for a Virtual Assistant to do X task for you.
  3. List of answers to most commonly asked questions and instructions on how to use them.
  4. Instructions to explain how to create your YouTube thumbnails.
  5. Instructions to write an article to your website.
  6. Videos and texts for a new VA to publish posts on your Facebook page.
  7. Etc.

The ultimate goal of having a system is to help ANYONE to do the task that you desire without additional time from you.

=> Multiply yourself

That may take a lot of time and it's not even possible to multiply yourself 100% but that's the idea.

3 Benefits of Building Systems

The idea of systems is that you can do things faster and more effectively.

Instead of writing the same response to the exact same question 100 times, you can just create 1 perfect answer and send it to everyone who asks that questions.

So, first of all, building systems frees your own time. You may get more done in 1 hour than another person gets done in 5 hours who tries to do everything manually.

Second, to grow your business, sooner or later it's recommended that you outsource tasks to other people.

When you have built systems, outsourcing becomes easier and faster.

Let's say that you spend 10 hours educating someone to do the task as well as you do but after a while he leaves for some reason.

Then you need to find another person and then you educate him again for 10 hours.

But what if you would have built a system (for example, videos, texts and other instructions) that a new person goes through?

You only need to build the system once and then you can educate as many people with it as you want.

Third, your business becomes more organized and professional.

With whom would you do business with?

Person A who has organized list of processes that he does to build his business. Clear systems that help to get other people to do the same things for him, etc.

Person B who can perhaps tell you what he is doing. If he happens to remembers.

I guess the answer is obvious

=> Systems Increase the Value Of Your Business and Give You More Time

As a result of all these factors, by building organized systems and instructions, you immediately increase the value of your business.

In addition, systems will help you to scale faster in the coming days, weeks, months and years.

I must mention that I still have a lot to learn about building systems and make more of them. However, I have already built some systems and that has ALWAYS given me great results so I will do it more and I HIGHLY recommend it to you as well.

Are you already building systems?

What have you built?

Have you created video instructions / Text instrucstions?

What kind of results did you get?

Cheers

PS. One example of a simple System was my 10-step checklist that got me 100 first page rankings on Google.

However, in order to make that system better, I have made it much more detailed to myself later on.

Hey Roope - that makes absolute sense.

I have several processes that I go through when working on my site but only one 'system' that I've actually written down because it has so many steps, I sometimes forget one.

I'm now going to try to 'systemise' some of the other processes. It would be great to be able to farm these out.

Thank you for this post. It is very helpful to me. I must try and start to build systems. Not sure where to begin but I will find a way. Thanks for sharing.

Systems work everywhere, even offline. That is why owners of big businesses are always much richer than sole proprietors. The former have others do the "dirty" work, while they relax and receive the checks. The latter, on the other hand, get themselves exhausted finding solutions to every problem. The same applies online. Thanks, Roope, for sharing this hardcore truth.

Exactly true! Same principles work in an online and offline business

Hey Roope,

Systems do work! McDonald's is based on a system and location. Look how successful they are and right now they are re-tuning their brand as well. I've heard this from Kyle on a training.

I've taken several Real Estate Courses and there is one particular course that teaches you everything based on systems. Ron LeGrand's Quick Turn Real Estate.

His motto is written on a sheet of paper taped to the back of a toilet seat (Ron is always joking) that says: "The less I do, the more I make".

The faster you can get your system on autopilot the faster your business will grow. Ron LeGrand teaches his system for Real Estate investing but he says that the system will work for any market that you can think of.

Well anyway, I really enjoyed this post and thank you for the million dollar ideas.

Oh by the way, I've been following you on YouTube as well. You got lots of good stuff out there.

I wish I knew how to bookmark these posts here on Wealthy Affiliate. That way I can refer others to this valuable content.

Roope, you are on the right track about systems because I've taken lots of courses that will back you up 100%.

Thanks again and keep building your systems.

You might be the next Warren Buffet.

This is so true having systems in place make it easier, a lot easier.

Here's to making it happen

Have a great week

Jennifer

Thank you Jennifer! Have a great week too!

Thank you

I can totally attest to this and how it helps you scale up.
I use to have to retrain writers and VAs if they quit and because I didn't have a system in place, it would take forever.

But once I developed a system which included videos, word documents, project management software, etc. I am now able to manage several websites and assistants while having a full time job and family of 4.

Without having a system in place, I wasn't organized and very overwhelmed. So I didn't do as much as I should. So you're giving great advice.

I think as you get more comfortable in your business and more advance it makes sense to have this. It wasn't as necessary when i did all the work and I didn't have a family. But as you start to grow, it's vital for your success and growth.

Great points Eddy. Thank you for sharing!

Thanks for sharing Roope. will definitely help me.

Happy to hear that Ray!

Great post Roope!
Valuable and useful information

Cheers!
Jeff

Thanks Jeff!

Thanks for the information. I tagged your post for the day my business has grown and I need to outsource.

Nice! But remember that building systems will often help you even though wouldn't outsrource tasks to anyone. You'll save your time and be more efficient by being organized.

Thanks Roope! You make a good point. Not having to think what the next step is will save you time.

Yes. And not doing the same thing many times manually. For example, I noticed that I was answering same questions every day so creating templates has for sure already saved me tens if not hundreds of hours of not writing same things over and over again.

The "yesssss" man makes another appearance. I was just thinking I hadn't seen that in a while.

Great post, the only way to have more than 24 hours in a day is to use somebody else's 24 hours or have a system do it for you.

The best thing about outsourcing is that you can use the income from your business to get more done. And that leads to even more income!

Yesss! LD
