Hello everyone! I had a question. I was going through the training and it was mentioned that posting too many affiliate links could get "punished" by google. I run a website

I have made a post about 5 top online courses in my niche, which all 5 have affiliate programs so since I am listing pros and cons of each so that it would help people pick which one of the 5 suits their needs best and I want to put affiliate links associated with each one so there would be 5 affiliate links on One post.

Would this be an alright thing to do or would that cause someone to be blacklisted by google ?

Mike,

Jay recommends no more than 2 per post I do believe but I could be wrong - and why would you not do a separate post on each
especially if you are an affiliate of them all - I would use the ones with the best features to promote but that is me.

I do not like to promote ones that are inadequate makes me look bad I think anyway :)
Susan

Yeah I've decided to just promote the couple that I have actually personally tried out for now so I'm talking from my own experience even though I've heard great reviews of 2 of the others for past few years now plus I can see from their sites that they offer great content from great educators so I know people coming to my site would benefit from them as well as the ones I've tried out.

Only problem is, it is way hard to write an 1000 word post on just these 2 courses which is one reason I was writing a top 5, and the other reason was to give people more good choices to choose from.

Google won't penalize you for having 5 links in your content IF your content is original and helpful, and you have enough written content. The recommended ratio is at least 500 words per link.

Mike,
Yes, I do see that being a problem as well, and being as
other members think that you should put so many affiliates
links in a post I went to one of our top affiliates here and
grabbed one of his blogs for you to check out I take
advise from him all the time he is really good no kidding
helped me so much. When I have questions like these I go to the guys who have the
experience and know what they are talking about :)

Susan

I found this helpful answer from a Google webmaster. Turns out that affiliate links are fine as long as you have plenty of high quality, original content. Bottom line is your website has to be helping people first and foremost, not just rapidly pushing products or affiliate links.

Thanks so much for the help! Certainly cleared things up.

I'm going to follow this discussion because I too would really like to know the answer to this! I've gone ahead of the trainings and already become an Amazon affiliate and began inserting affiliate links into my posts.
