I am trying to add a favicon which i have designed but I can only see it in the browser tab, but NOT the browser bar.
Am
m I adding it correctly?
Is there a training and/or tutorial about favicon? I don't have a clue what it's all about.
Hi Allan, if you are using or upgraded your wordpress to version 4.3.1, it will be much easier.
First, login to your Wordpress and go to your left side panel Appearance -> Customize.
Second, you will come to your Customize Page where you need to click on "Site Identity" at the left panel.
Third, it comes to another page and now you click on the "Site Icon" at the left panel which will lead you to upload your Favicon picture.
Attached herewith are few screenshots and hope it helps.
Cheers

favicon is favorite icon
it is a small pic of your choosing that appears in the
tab of your website like the WA in Wealthy Affiliates
website tab. Create a Favicon - What is a Favicon?
Hello rog37, I visited your website and so impressed. I like the way it was set up, pics of fruits and veggies aligned to your contents. Just a question, did you hire a web designer to create your website? Alluring, interesting and engaging. All the best,
Thank you so much for your kind comments about my website.
I am happy to say Coney that I designed it all myself simply by following Kyle's Certification Course.
Stick with it, follow Kyle and you can have a website that you can be truly proud of.
Good Luck,
Roger
Thanks to everyone for all your help. Marion gave me great advice about the right type of picture to choose, and everything is now perfect, (For now :-) )
Sincere thanks to you all,
Roger
p.s. just check out the new favicon at www.rog37.com
Hi Roger,
if you already see the favicon in the browser tab, you don't have anything else to do.
The only icons appearing in the browser bar might be about the website's security (existence of certificates)
So yes, you've added it correctly!
you can customize your theme, it will come up with a list of sections in your site and it will say favicon you can upload straight from your pc or media
oh I see I am fortunate then as it is so much easier than the old way I just thought cause my theme updated it would be the same for all thank you for letting me know
Favicons only appear in your browser's tabs, see Create a Favicon - What is a Favicon? Where did you expect to see your new favicon?

where can I find Banners
WOW I have never clicked on the airplane before. Now so excited to get the page running so I can add the banner.
Hey Roger, if it is WA banners? Click on your aeroplane button at the top. Then click on the banners option in the header. This will give you a list of various banners etc. at the different sizes. Your personal affiliate link will be within those codes.
Hope this helps?
Cheers

I asked the question a couple of days ago "Please put in your first name on your profile?" A BIG thank you to all those who responded in agreement.
'WA' is such a frien
Well done Roger, It looks like it's starting to work. I am seeing more REAL people on their blogs.

H,i there Roger
first let me thank you for the follow, and I agree with you Roger. Before some this offers a sense of anonymity. Which in the long run perch your branding.
If you look up at the top of your blog or your questions and answers or a party the page here at the wealthy affiliate program you will see the Google plus simple in your notice that it links to the outside world.
By back links internally this is one of the worlds greatest back linking platforms the wealthy affiliates program .
by these people doing so in our community not a your first name or a last names it hurt there Branding rankings very much so with that being said . I thank you on such a great question.
It is a nice, personal touch!
However, I do not have an Edit button next to my Username...so I do not know how to change it.
Emily :)
At the top of your profile page Emily, you will see a Blue button saying 'ACTIONS' with a little arrow pointing down to the right of it. Click on that and it will then show 'Edit my profile' This is where you can make any changes.
Hope that help Emily?
I tried that, but all that comes up is to edit my profile description.
I went to Account Settings, and I can edit everything except my Username...

It is fantastic meeting so many helpful people here at WA but it is difficult to fully associate with people who only use their 'Usernames' within their profiles (
Hi Roger, I think sometimes that people are not quite sure of who they are dealing with online when they first start. I don't have my first name on my profile page, but I do sign all my posts on my sites with my signature. You are right though, sometimes I don't know how to address them. Thanks!
Liz
Roger - thanks for bringing it to my attention! I just realised my name is nowhere to be seen on my WA profile! Changed it :)
Regards,
Dave
Hi Roger,
I changed my username a while ago to include my first name. Like you I'd like everyone else to let us know how they would like to be addressed. It would make it so much easier to relate to each other.
Marion
I'm with you on that Roger,
I get that people might want to have a username that means something to them but of course it often means nothing to us so I appreciate it when members give us their own name as well.
I like to use somebody's name when communicating with them, even if it means hunting it down within their profile or even within about an about me page on a website they have so I appreciate it more if it's in their comment so I don't have to spend ages looking for it!
Mark
Hi Roger. My name is Ken. I do agree with you but it appears that some people prefer to remain anonymous. I will change my profile though.
Hi Roger:
I recently created a training addressing this very issue: How to Write a Good WA Profile Description
Thank you Steph. I have read your great training, 'liked' it and have added a little more to my own profile.
As I keep saying "This is a great place to be!"
