Social Media, and a very unsettling matter; surely you know, yes?

Lately, I’ve been hearing a lot of things about social media and as many of us well know, social media is a part of the training here at Wealthy Affiliate. In fact, 70% of the training revolves around it. The problem is that many of us, if not, especially have heard that Facebook doesn’t really allow affiliate links or other outside posts like website posts to be shown on the platform.

I have a big problem with this because that’s where I go to share all of my posts but if Facebook isn’t having it then what else is there besides Twitter or Pinterest. Facebook is the biggest and most frequented social media platform on the internet, it would be unwise to not use its ‘powers’ for our own benefit.

However, if Facebook isn’t allowing other viewers to see our posts then that causes a problem which makes it pointless to post anything on Facebook on account of this. I was talking to another affiliate and she was telling me that she didn’t trust Facebook or even Pinterest. So I ask you, what other social media platforms do you, my people, use if not Facebook; are even aware that this was a trend with Facebook?

What do you know or know about this my good people?

I just add my blog posts to facebook. If someone wants to read it they click that link to read it and that's where the affiliate links are, in the post.
I mainly use Twitter, I find its the best platform for me.

I use Twitter too Linda, I post on Twitter gaming because I am a gamer but I like Twitter too.

Facebook is sometimes confused, it sometimes accepts and sometimes doesn't accept links.

I wish I knew which "days" it does Accad because I've been a bit of a mental mess over this so I've just been thinking about this a lot and wondering if there was any truth to it.

Maybe the "share" button could help to get rid of some technical issue, so be sure you have installed on your website the social plugins. I'm not so sure about it but it may help.

I'll try it. Thanks brother.

Have you tried Instagram or even LinkedIn!
Stuart

Yeah, I tried LinkedIn and that's a dead end but I still got Pinterest

Right now only about 3% of your followers see your posts whether they have links in them or not. Personally I would try to get my followers into a group where things are different. Facebook has openly stated that it is shifting its emphasis to groups this year. If you have a large group following your interaction rate should increase.
Failing that try getting your followers onto a Messenger list via Manychat. That way everyone will see your messages driving people to your blog posts.

Hope tha5 helps

That's a good idea Jon, I didn't think of that the Manychat; I didn't know that was a thing but I do now. Thanks man.

You’re welcome

I haven't had problems with links from my personal page on FB. For example, yesterday I posted a link to a page on one of our websites which shows the wood sculptures my husband has been doing for a couple of years. I know it worked because several people I know personally commented on that page. But I only sometimes add a more commercial link.

Do you post to a group or do you post on a personal or fanpage Rosana, I post on my fanpage and I post to a group to which I am an admin, but which do you post to?

I post on my rosanahart page which really is mostly old friends from all sorts of places. I also post pertinent things on my church group page, which I am one of the admins of. I post here and there but those are the main ones.

Well I guess I shouldn't believe everything I hear especially stuff like that.

I post links to all of my posts to FB. Where's the problem?

Well I heard no long ago that Facebook doesn't allow posts from websites to be seen, I know they do get seen but I can't understand why Facebook, if this is even true, wouldn't allow people's post with links back to their website to not be seen by people on Facebook.

I have never heard this. I get 40% of my traffic via FB and I keep tabs on this every day when I look at Google Analytics. When I post something the graph shoots skywards like a rocket and when I don't it plummets downwards like a stone! Moral of the story is to keep posting material if you want traffic.
Alister

Okay Alister, I'm down with that, it's just I heard some people talking about it recently and I wasn't sure if it was true or not so that's why I posted here.

I post all my posts from one website on FB. I have a page for each of my businesses. Today I posted one on the other site. No problem. Have I just been lucky, or what?

Okay Granny, I have to ask then do you post in groups or do you post on your fanpage?

I post on my two business pages. I also post notices on a private Cat Writer's page. I post in other groups, but not usually with links. However, when I first joined them I added my link. There are tons of cat groups on FB, so I joined 15 of them and sent a link to my site. I've had no problem.

I tried to posting my post without a link but then there were no people really commenting and wanting to know about the post. So are you saying Granny that my info is false because if you are, I hope you're right I depend on Facebook for traffic to my website.

I don't know. I've read posts on here by other people who have had problems with FB. I am not sure why I have not had any. I really don't know what to tell you to try. I know it is very hard to get hold of FB to ask them anything. Hope you can figure something out.

I think you guys may have cleared this up for me Granny, I just have to not take everything I hear so literal.

Oh, I hope so. Good luck.
