Self reflection is good for the soul, no?

Earlier today while I was at work, the consequences of something I’ve did in the recent past has caught up with me and it was all because I was hasty in trying out a new “toy” that would get me to the finish line fast i.e. make money!

Now, you’d think that I would’ve learned my lesson from the last several million times that I fell, crashed and burned; you know, trying to find other ideas to complement the one you have to get you to money quickly or quicker.

Well, I won’t go into detail about what I did but I can tell you now that after doing some deep soul searching and coming to terms with the truth within, - I knew I could no longer serve my new master – (video game metaphor). Anyway, one of the biggest reasons why I made the mistake I made was because I felt my website posts lacked engagement.

But here’s the “ironic” part. Someone, a gamer, reached out to me a short while ago i.e. last week via one of my website posts on a game that they’re playing right now that I’ve already beaten. I turned the person onto one of my videos that I made on the problem that they had. Now, whether or not they took my advice, I mean being a video game expert and all why wouldn’t they, is on them.

Then I asked myself, if my website posts is lacking engagement then why are different people from this continent and I’m sure on the next are contacting me about my advice about a game I’ve beaten already.

I want to go record as saying that I haven’t even looked at the game that the person contacted me about but I knew where they were and what they were doing because it mirrored exactly what I did when I played the game starting out.

Overall, I’ve gotten tons of engagement from gamers all over the world and even if not at the same time or immediately, but eventually, that’s engagement pure and simple; engagement I learned as part of the training here I might add.

You know it’s something, you can complain and bellow all day about what you’re not getting or what’s not coming to you at the time you think it should but it took me a long time to realize that I was getting what I wanted all along which was engagement and acknowledged as the video game authority that I am!

I’m reminded of something I used to tell my cousin when we were in college together, and that was this; the faster you run to the finish line, the longer you’re going to be getting there. At present, I’m happy with where I am and where I plan on going with my business so having said that, I want to take this time to thank Wealthy Affiliate for its awesome training as well as the brains behind the training.

Also, I want to say thanks to all of you who talked me down off the ledge more than a few times when it came to my haste, you’re treasures most precious! Thank you all.

We all are here for each other. Im not a video gamer but my husband was, he was a war dog.

He played games that were related to war. A bit too much violence for me. It was his only way to help vent out his frustrations. He was in ‘Nam in ‘68 and didn't want to be there but because of the draft he was forced to go. The Army discovered his skill for long shot range, his eyes very sharp, he had a hearing loss but still they sent him there. He's been gone for almost three years I sure do miss him. He’s not suffering no more so for that I am grateful

Your ideas about engagement gaming authority sounds good to me. “Whatever turns your crank”, that was my husband’s famous sayings.

Like you, I am grateful for WA also.

Hey Bren-Bren, there was a game called 'Nam 67' for a game system console from the past I think PS1 or PS2; I can't remember but your husband sounded awesome. Personally, I almost made sharpshooter 3 times in rifle training in 9th grade, I was always shy of the mark. That was 24 years ago so as you can imagine I probably can do it now but my point is that video gamers especially those getting engagement and those that love them are awesome. I sort fell off on that last part but I meant it lol.

Maybe your work is considered one of the evergreen content. Although it will take a bit long time it will not fade but the more it grows over time. Video games can never be taken aside it is always being loved by the youth and even adults.

Agreed accad, I couldn't have said it better myself. I don't play my games or new games at the time everyone else plays that game because I like being an individual which pays off when I do get to said game because I will have developed my strategies for dealing with everything in a game.

All about pacing yourself my friend
Happy running

Thanks pal. From now on, it's going to be smooth sailing and a one business track. I feel great about the decision personally.

Good to hear you are doing great
Just no more shiny objects LOL

Not so much a shiny object as it was a "follow this and do that, and you'll have a boat load of money by doing this consecutively". A bigger need to feel ashamed there never was.

Thanks for sharing Rodney!

To Your Success!

Mel

Always happy to be that positive light to keep everyone new and old from walking down my dark tunnels.

Yep, you stay away from that edge, Rodney,

I am glad you have come to the realization that you really are an expert in your field, and the fact that people all over the world are asking you questions is awesome. Hang in there, young man. You will reach your goal yet.

Thanks Granny, if you say so then it will be so. I've been so blind to what's right in front of my face; all because I had to try to have more than I was entitled to or was meant to have in the moment. I won't make that mistake again.

It's funny, when open-minded people like me are turned onto different things, we get curious and try to use that "thing" that piques our curiosity but our sight of right and wrong begin to blur when we feel that we're doing the right thing even when we're not. Sad and ironic huh?
