Experiment numero dos, not so good outlook; maybe it’s me, who knows?
Well, it’s Day 10 of the free trial on my experiment and it’s not going so good. I’ve had some success finishing the training and moving onto trying to actually do some of the “outlining” and experimenting with the software and it’s not going so good. Ultimately, I will not have any money to renew my membership on the experimentation site so with that I decided that I’m not going to renew my membership because it’s a little more than I can afford right now.
But ultimately, I’m going to try to find some plugins where I can create my own landing pages, and create something truly wonderful for all of my gaming friends. I’ve grown tired of experiments that fail, but it did make me ask a question, is it me; maybe it’s me, who knows? But, I’m having a hard time seeing the forest from the trees.
I guess it’s my own fault, I’m trying to do everything I can to expand on my business so I can get it in front of the right people but this is my second experimental failure so at this point my morale is a little low but I’m trying to keep my head up. The thing is, I was so excited to try this but now I guess it came back to bite me because the experiment was a little harder than expected.
So I’ll keep trying to find different plugins that’ll get me a landing page along with some other cool stuff to make my website explode, but that’s my progress at this point.

What is failing about what you're doing?
Is your gaming site monetized and how? What kind of products are you selling? Are there people who want to buy what you're selling? What price point are the things that you're selling?
Sometimes it just takes some tweaking. How long has your site been up? How many posts? How long are they? Are they relevant to your users?
There's a lot to keep in mind when running a website. And it also takes time to get in front of people. I would hate to see you give up too early...

Well Christina, here's the thing. My site is monetized via Ebay affiliate product links, I normally sell a video game or the game that I did my post on. I always aim for the, pardon the expression, the lowest common denominator when it comes to games because I know no gamer alive want to still pay 60.00 on a game that's been out for a game that's been out 11 months.
My site has been up for the last 2 years, its birthday was Aug. 17th. I have close to 230 posts and I always make them relevant to my viewers. However, the problem lies in having a good landing page, sales page and checkout page; I'm trying to follow that model because I believe it's going to make a difference with getting my products out there especially the ones I promote via Ebay or other affiliate programs.
Maybe you can try promoting other things that will give you a bigger return - gaming computers and laptops, gaming chairs, etc.
Also, why do you need a landing page / checkout page when you're promoting through ebay?

Well, because I thought I would need one in order to guide visitors to so they would buy the affiliate products that I'm promoting, do you mean to say that I don't; do you mean to say that I've been only complicating it?
Well, I was thinking if you're sending people to ebay's page, I wouldn't think you would need a checkout page. Don't they have their own?
Landing pages can work. I saw that you have a landing page builder. You can definitely test that out.

As a matter of fact Christina, yes Ebay does. I was thinking about that and trying to draw a line between adding products to my woocommerce store and making sure that people will be able to buy from me via affiliate link; is that possible or make sense?
I'm not sure. I never worked with Woocommerce so I don't know how that all works.
I know lots of people here do though, so you might want to ask a question to the community.

No Jim, this wasn't about the money I'm spending here on this site, I'm talking about with my experiment site which is separate from WA. I'm not walking away from WA, I'm doing some things different from WA, but I'm not leaving them and the post wasn't even about WA, it's about the experiment I'm conducting on another site where I'm partaking in the free trial.
It's okay, anyone else would've thought the same so it's all good fam'.

Hi Rodney - this is sort of 3rd hand information but a friend who is a member here went to a coinvention and met a lot of top marketers. We're talking people making 6+ figures.
Of of the many things he reported was that they try lots of things and most of them fail, maybe 9 out of 10. But when they find the one thing that does work they hit it with everythign they've got.
You do something, learn, try something else and so on.
So don't stop trying new things :-)
It's porobably not you :-) Certain ideas an techniques will work in some situations and for some niches but not others.
You need to find the 1 in 10 :-)

Thanks Ian, that's awesome. I feel like I want to try other things and I did find a landing page software that I have yet to give my full attention but I do see some potential in it, I was playing with it last night.
The take-away for me is that guys earning literally $millions don't know exactly what works and what doesn't before they try it. Of course, they have more resources and technical doobries , etc, but a part of the game is still trial and error.
