Hey man I believe Course 2 Lesson 1 of the Certification Courses explains a simple process of transferring your siterubix domain to your own domain, if that's what you're trying to do. Building Your Own Traffic Producing Website Level 2
Hey thanks for the reply, but what I'm trying to do is move one of my sites from WA to HostGator...

Can you use an image from someone else's website to link back to that same website?
Example: copy an product image from Amazon and use it as a link back to that product?</
Be careful with images. Amazon images are ok if you're promoting their products. There are unscrupulous operators out there that deliberately post their own copyrighted images and wait for someone to use them. Their bots pick them up & then they sue the user for thousands.
Wow, that is just unethical, it really goes to show the detrimental effects that greed can have on someone. I'm pretty sure if they threatened to sue or actually started a lawsuit that they would not win, in lite of what they did.
Really? I just think it's hard to argue that your content was infringed upon if you clearly post it on amazon affiliate to advertise. Your practically setting someone up if you copyright your material on amazon affiliate. I guess corruption triumphs in this time of age.Sad to hear.
I thought I said Amazon was Ok. Obviously if you're promoting Amazon products you can use their images - in fact they want you to.
Hey I have used images from others site but i have given the image courtesy ....you think that would create any problem???
Thanks everyone!
Yes I would make sure I'm an affiliate for that company, otherwise there'd be no point to link to them! 8-)
Surely you can link back to Amazon if you have a sales Associate account with them. They WANT you to use the image on your site, and link back to Amazon, where if they buy the product, if you used your Associate's custom link, you get paid a commission. Same would go for images on other online stores that you have an Associate account with. I have accounts with Amazon (US and UK), de Wine Spot, Home Depot, and Ethnic Foods Co.
As far as grabbing an image off of just any website, without being affiliated or associated with them, you would probably want to ask permission, and you would also want to make sure that THEY got the image with permission or got it from the "free to reuse" category in searches in places like Google, Bing, and Yahoo.
At least that's my understanding. Anyone else want to chime in on this one?
That's cool! Didn't want to go through a lot of work and find out I'm infringing on someone's copyright!
As long as you are an amazon affiliate it's not infringement. Your actually helping the person by advertising their product, this shouldn't be an issue.
Only if it is a stock image, or a personal image that you own. Also if it is owned by someone else you need to get their permission to use it first. All the Best and Welcome! Sharon

I would like to be able to open one of my pages and have another webpage open up within the content part of my webpage.
is this possible?
Sounds spooky :-) I think what you mean is to have a link to another part of your site? There's a link button on the editing toolbar. You can choose the option to have the page open in a new tab or not. There's a video about doing this and specifically at point 8:52.
Getting New Content Ideas From Old Content
No I want the other website to open within the framework of my site so it looks like there site is a part of mine rather than leaving my site to go to theirs.
It would be a site that sells merchandise with my logo on it.
They take care of all printing and shipping, but I get a commission on each item.
I wouldn't be trying to take credit for some one else's site.
It depends on how the other site is structured and whether they allow you to insert code into your site to integrate it. I'd ask them.

I have two domain names that are very similar. I want to set up one to redirect to the other.
I didn't see any information on doing this other than going from a siterubix
No, the registrar is outside WA, you would have purchased the URL from Namecheap or GoDaddy. Perhaps somewhere else.

I found that I wanted to change the spelling slightly on my domain name for branding purposes. Is there an easy way to transfer my content from the existing domain to the new do
Hello Community! I have transfer my information from an old domain to a new one. I prob need to disengage my old site. How do I do that? Thanks, Danielle
you can do a 301 redirect from the old domain to the new domain, and then your visitors will be taken to your new domain automatically.
Michelle, The first Domain had a typo which is why I had to buy a new one. Should I just go to SiteRubix and delete it so it is cleaner in the end. Since the transfer, I'm having trouble inserting links, installing Google Analytics etc. I'm thinking it is because I have 2 almost identical sites. Your thoughts? Do you recommend I delete the old one since it has a typo anyway? Thanks for your help. Danielle
Hi Danielle. If you have already transferred your content to the new domain, and are sure that you don't need the old SiteRubix anymore, then I'd just go ahead and delete it. You have no use for it, I am assuming. :)
As far as the Google Analytics issue, it would have nothing to do with having two like domains. Make sure you put the Google Analytics code within your settings and you should be just fine.
Thank you Michelle! Sometimes the smallest things make the biggest difference. I forgot to check the "activate" button when I inserted by UA code for Google Analytics! Such a newbie move...thanks for your help. Danielle
IMichelle, I'm guessing this is normal. I'm in Bootcamp and move along really well and then it seems like I get stuck and hit a wall with something technical and take a huge step back to resolve it. Not being a really technical person, seems like this is pretty common. I'm now getting a ton of 404 errors which I will resolve, but just slows me down. Was this your experience? Danielle
Oh yes, this is very normal! I had wreck after wreck and required more help than the usual person should. lol It took me a long time to understand what on earth I was suppose to be doing. So, I completely understand what you are saying. The more practice you get, the easier it gets. It is definitely not a process to try and rush through, that is for sure! :)
There is also a plugin called WP Clone that will move the entire site quite easily. How to backup and restore your wordpress website with WP Clone
Yes download the images file from your first domain that is the media file via ftp and then go to the WP dashboard and tools/export and download all files. That should pick up your content and pictures, however it often leaves a few images begind which is why you copy your media file separately.
When your new blog is up and empty upload the content iles by using import (it will import the plugin as well) and the media file. Check that all the image are howing on the pot and you are done
Craig is correct bur plugins slow your site down and are uaually the route of all problem so I try and do without them if posible.
Thanks Kat!
My site isn't that big yet, so if I have to manually transfer everything it's not the end of the world!
If you choose Craigs plugin then delete it afterwards dont just deactivate it that is huge potential problems later
Thanks, I did delete the plug in.
I didn't know that it could cause problems, I'm just obsessive about keeping things as organized as I can and getting rid of stuff not in use! 8-)
