About Me

Hi everyone, i'm Rob and I'm the owner of tunelectric.com. I set this website up through WA and word press to help motivate and inspire people learning to play the guitar.

Progress

It's not been easy for me to progress at the pace I have wanted, I'm a bit of a perfectionist but am really trying not to be! After 18 months on the WA website I have still yet to to make any profit and the main reason is due to the amount of time I have to pursue it.

I will not give up on WA though I know it's a great and postively motivating community to be in. Finding time to create content is very hard for me as I work full time and have spent every day I have off looking after my son who is now 1 1/2.

Achievements

My biggest achievements to date (other than getting this far) would be the interview with pro guitarist Gordon Giltrap I filmed, for a short mini series which I've started. I arranged this all myself, filmed edited and interviewed with no help so was glad I finally got it done. I wrote a short article and added relevant affiliate link to his album.

I'm also in the process of growing my social media presence and have managed to get many other pro guitarists interested in what i'm doing.

Future Goals

With the networking i'm doing, I hope to film more interviews with other pro guitarists and people in the industry to give a wide range of ideas to the new player. I need to aim for at least one article or blog post per week and I want to gain more confidence on camera to do Facebook lives with guitar lessons and tips.

I got rejected by google adsense, probably because my website is still pretty bare so I really want to work on content and reapply. Also there is a music shop who wants to see more content before they will allow me to join their affiliate program.

I really want to strive to be less of a perfectionist and just create content. I'd like to make my writing style less formal and I want to build my personality on camera and be a positive and motivating face for my business.

Great Job Rob! Cheers, William.

Thanks WilliamBH!

What a great site you have, Rob! It makes me sad to think of that time - many, many, many years ago - when I just gave my guitar away!!!

My parents bought it for me when I was in elementary school...I sucked! Sadly, as I got older, I didn't see the beauty of it, and I gave it to one of my sister's friends. I ended up playing the clarinet for several years. Love it!

One thing I have to keep reminding myself is that my progress is just that...mine. Whatever someone else is doing, no matter how quickly they get this or that, that's their journey, not mine. If being a perfectionist is working for you, great. But if it's causing more harm then good, perhaps it's time to loosen the reigns a bit (I'm talking from experience).

Just at a quick glance, I noticed the "sidebar" notice, you definitely want to delete that s soon.

All the best to you, Rob.

Thanks for your comment Veronicasluv, can you see the add widget side bar on my site?!.. not sure why this is showing it should only be on the Wordpress log in view?.. I'll check it out thanks for the heads up
