I see many of the new members asking when or if they should have their own domain name. Of course they should, and I will tell you why.

When you have your website up and running you might want to become an affiliate and promote products on it. But have you realized that when you promote a direct affiliate link you are actually building somebody else’s business.

All that hard work and perhaps money as well that you spent on promotion will benefit the product owner not you if for whatever reason you no longer become affiliated with that program.

However, if you promote your own domain name and change your mind and want to promote something else you can just change a few settings in your registrar’s cpanel and hey presto you're promoting a new program.

A domain name just looks more professional and tells people you are invested in your image and business. You can then create your own YouTube and social media pages around your brand so you can build your own audience.

Have Your Own Blog and Start Building Your Own Mailing List

Rather than promoting an affiliate url have you considered starting a blog around your topic and build your own mailing list? This is a long term approach but a smarter one. If you start building your own community and list you can promote multiple affiliate programs not just one. Try thinking more long term and start promoting your own brand, blog and list.

Get Accepted By Major Classified Ad and Social Media Sites With Your Own Domain Name

Did you know that sites like Facebook often block popular short links like tinyurl.com, bit.ly and affiliate links from major affiliate networks like Clickbank.

If you have your own domain name you can often bypass these blocks. You will find that your Ads will get accepted in many more places if you actually have your own domain name.

Ok folks there you have it. It makes a great deal of sense to have your own domain name so make sure you get one as soon as you can.
