Is Your Website Mobile Friendly?
Hi Folks
Came across an article that told me what I already know and that is as mobile use grows and mobile-first users come of age, the emphasis on mobile optimization for site content will become more important than ever.
This being said you will have to think about how your content looks and reads on mobile devices before any other types such as Laptops and Desktop PCs.
The article also had a link to a speed tool and after trying it I found it very good compared to some of the others I've tried.

I have done the test.......... so all good so far
the question of our websites being mobile and ipad responsive is so importamnt.
It seems from statistics that more than half of Google searches are done on mobile devices, so the laptop and pc are being slowly made redundant.

Yes I'm afraid the Desktop has just about had its day and the Laptop will follow suit not long after that.
This is especially true of the upcoming younger generation who use nothing else but mobile devices, especially Smart Phones.
Good your own site has passed the test and is mobile friendly.
The trick now is to keep it that way.

Hello, Robert...thank you for posting this. My results came back with "viewport not set". I hope this isn't a too elementary question but what does this mean and how can I fix it? I found a plugin called "definitely allow mobile zooming" which adds the viewport meta tag with zooming permission for mobile browsers.
Is this a good plugin to have and if so, does it solve my problem? The strange thing is, I know my site can be viewed on Iphones and tablets with no problem. The only thing an Iphone user can't do is leave a comment for me.
Thank you for your help with this and in the meantime, I'm going to see if this was covered in a training that I missed.

Robert, I just read a post that Loes wrote some time ago about the plugin WPTouch Mobile Plugin that she uses and recommends. I downloaded that and deactivated the one I asked about in my earlier comment to you.

Karen if you have a plugin that does the job then I wouldn't bother trying to configure the Viewport yourself.

I actually published a blog on this last year and I believe it turned out to be Double Dutch to most who read it so perhaps you should stick to that plugin.
Yes its pretty cold here in Scotland with a very hard frost last night and white this morning.

I read your blog of last year. The WP plugin worked for me so I'm a happy girl.
Very busy here getting ready for winter, yard work, closing up the gardens, stacking firewood etc, etc, etc. PLUS getting ready to drive (16 hrs) down to North Carolina for Thanksgiving and to visit our 8 month pregnant daughter and her husband.
So...fitting in as much time here as I can before we leave. I always find your posts SO helpful.

Hello Grandma to be, I suppose you will be spending Christmas with your daughter as well as Thanksgiving and that's as it should be coz family is important.

Hello, dear friend... apparently this plugin is great...no need to constantly zoom in. And in my site where I have menus across the top listing different recipe categories and blogs, the new mobile plugin makes it easier for the visitor to read and search.
Unfortunately will not be spending Christmas with our daughter this year. Will have to settle for our 14 day visit over our Thanksgiving holiday the end of this month (and an early Christmas celebration).
The baby is due 12/28 and I think it's important to let the two of them have a week of private time to bond with their new little son before the arrival of us in-laws in early January. Our son-in-law hails from Leutin, just outside London.

I tried the plugin and you're right it is pretty good and works.
I actually don't need it as my site is ok but will keep it deactivated just in case - (I'm a just in case type of person lol)
Did I not show you a photo of my one and only great-grandaughter?
Well there is another one due on Dec. 9th.
Its not fair, I'm only in my 60's lol.
Anyway you enjoy your time on your visit then get back down there asap and see the wee one coz they really do grow up so fast.
I don't know where Luton is as I'm in Scotland.
I do know they have an airport coz its a bit of a joke coz of a TV Ad several years ago.

I'm afraid the only thing I drink these days is Pomegranate Juice.
