Linking From Wikipedia
Hi Folks
I came across this little piece of info the other day and thought I would share with you.
It all about backlinking from an authority site.
As most of you will know Wikipedia is a high-authority website that has an endless amount of information on countless subjects. This also means that over a period of time it ends up with an endless amount of broken links.
Bet you didn't know you could use this fact to your advantage. Yes you can folks, and its so easy to do.
You can improve your search rankings by finding dead or broken links relevant to your brand and edit the link to direct back to your own website. How cool is that?
You do need an account, but once you have one, all you have to do is use this WikiGrabber tool to identify broken links. From there, simply create or log into your Wikipedia account and update those links with your own information.

The WikiGraber tool Looks like it might be useful be useful Robert. I will check into it and see for myself how it works.
Also, I might be able to use the Wikipedia.org as another method to look up words I normally look up on google and it is interesting to know that it is offered in several various languages.

These are non-follow links, but are never the less important for SEO. Also they can bring some traffic your way.

It is hard to make edits on Wikipedia. Normally you end up in editing war with some zealot especially on the topic about alternative medicine and have to take it up with the admins or the starter of the project.
I think it will depend on what your niche is and how deep you want to go into it to find something that a lot of people know about but can't find very much info on.
Does alternative medicine fall into that category? Doubt it Mira.

Alternative medicine is difficult as they are asking for references from Western medicine sources...

Doesn't help. They are primary sources, I need reliable secondary sources which are quoting the primary ones...tricky!
