How To Start Home Business
Marketing Your Home Business
Hi Folks
When you own a home based business you must be aware how important it is to have a good promotional plan. After all, you will never be successful if people do not even know that you exist. The good thing is that when you own a home based business there are several ways to promote it to potential customers all over the world.
The first thing that you will want to do when you are promoting your home business is to write up a plan; this is sometimes referred to as a marketing plan.
In this plan you will want to outline everything you intend to do as far as promotion is concerned. By doing this before you even get started, you will ensure yourself of having a guide to help you through the different stages of marketing.
Many people overlook this step because they think that they can simply promote as they go along. This is true, but by having a promotional plan in place you will be much more successful.
One of the best ways of promoting your home business is through the use of a website. By having a website, you will be able to promote your business to people from all over the world. There was a time when this option wasn't available, but those days have long gone.
If you want your home business to be successful, you will need to have a top notch website that you can rely on so I hope you are all taking the step by step WA training to achieve this.
The main advantage of doing this is that you can reach a target audience that is interested in what you have to offer. This is much better than simply placing an Ad in a publication that doesn't even correspond with your company.
Of course, promoting your home business can also be done in other ways as well. For example, many home business owners believe that emails are a great way to promote their business. This can be done by obtaining a mailing list through an opt-in function on your website. You can then send out promotional material that will intrigue people to contact you or visit your website.
When all is said and done, promoting your home business is the only way that you are going to be able to grow and make money from it. By starting out with a plan you will be able to ensure yourself of guidance along the way. Remember, there are hundreds of promotional tactics available. Find a couple that work for you and stick with them.
Do you have a plan to follow? if not then I suggest you get one typed up asap.

Hello Robert, I hope you're doing well. Thank you for your excellent blog post, it's always very good to have a plan of action, although I often have a plan in my mind, I need to write things down more and tick things off as I achieve them!
I always appreciate your blog posts Robert, thank you very much.
Enjoy your day.
Roy

Thank you, Robert, I hear you 100% and taken on board your comments! I believe the weather is very good in Scotland, it is certainly good down here, but we are crying out for rain! I don't remember weather like this since I was a young lad back in 1976!
It's always good to connect with the Robert, thank you so much.
Roy
Record temps up here but the change is in the air and its very cloudy here tonight.
Back in 76 I had been married for 3 years with two kids.
I remember the 70's well and have photos of the kids, the best I have ever taken.
Have a great evening.

Amazing Robert, I'm sure Scotland looks very beautiful in the sunshine!
I was 11 back in 76, how quickly time goes! It is always good to look back and to have happy memories.
I will catch you soon Robert, enjoy your day.

Thank you for this Robert and I have starred this to keep for future reference. Where do you get all your knowledge from Mr. xxx
Hello again Cheryl and again thank you for reading my blog and for your comment.
All my knowledge and expertise is self taught and loads and loads of research over the years.
I'm still learning as well so I never get complacent and big-headed enough to think I know it all.
Now its def time I was off for the night.

Good day Robert,
Great Post. A Marketing plan is absolutely necessary as part of a Business Plan, and it shall be updated constantly. Without a constant update of our marketing plan, we can make the analogy to a plane flying at 45 thousand feet and cutting off the fuel supply. It will go nowhere.
Thanks for sharing Robert and have a great weekend.
Jules
Hello Jules and thank you for reading my blog and for your input via your comment.
I'm afraid all too many members don't start of with a plan and they become stuck somewhere down the line and have nothing to fall back on.
Whereas if they did have a plan then they should have several contingencies written into it to get them out of trouble or at least give themselves an alternative course of action to get them out of the fix they find themselves in.
Have a great Sunday and the week to come.

Great info Robert. The plan and research part (eg. who the heck are you targeting) are crucial steps with any business. With it being so easy to just fire up a website here, these steps can be doverlooked and delayed. Your info does a good job of reinforcing the importance of planning. The Digital Marketer Ultimate Guide says the same things you say. It’s a great read as well. https://www.digitalmarketer.com/digital-marketing/
Yes indeed Kim, a Plan is a lot better than crossing your fingers and hoping for the best.
Right from the word go, a step by step plan to get you up and running and keep you focused on your eventual goal is a must have for anyone who wants to make a living from the internet.
Thank you for taking time out from your day to read my blog and for your input.
I had a looksee at the Digital Marketer and hopefully other readers of this blog will do so as well.
Lots of good tips and advice in there for them to follow.
Have a great Saturday.
Robert
Hello Edwin and thank you for reading my blog.
Yes indeed create a plan and stick to it.
Of course as our National Poet Robert Burns said -
The best laid schemes o' Mice an' Men, Gang aft agley, An' lea'e us nought but grief an' pain, For promis'd joy!
Have a great Friday Edwin and the weekend to come.
Robert
Hi Derek and thank you for reading my blog.
You would be surprised just how many WA members don't understand what you mean by a marketing plan.
They usually think its the same as a business plan and to a certain extent it is but the marketing plan s a vital part of that business plan.
Without it you are going to struggle.
Have a great Tuesday.
Robert
Everyone has to start somewhere Robert. That is why WA is such a good olace. Lots of training, and community support.
Indeed there is Rowan so no need to fail if you keep to the training as its meant to be kept to.
However there are an awful lot on new members who stray of the tried and tested path to success in order to get a quick fix which of course there isn't for long term success.
Plan it out and keep to the plan is always going to be the best way to achieve your goal.
Have a great Tuesday.
Robert
Or just keep it on the back burner like me and letting life keep distracting me from my goals. Now trained as a life and health coach perhaps I’ll start blogging about that issue. Could be useful to all levels :)
It wont do any harm to pass on any tips and advice as long as you practice what you preach Rowan.
Robert
A step forward every day in setting up my coaching practice. Still interested in affiliate marketing too because it appeals to my creative side. And both the coaching and the affiliate marketing can leverage each other.
I gave up affiliate marketing some years ago.
I just thought it was too much work and effort when I could make more money mentoring/tutoring other people how to.
Enjoy your Wednesday.
Robert
Not really a Niche.
I look on it as private enterprise.
I don't actually mentor/tutor all the time just as and when I get an interesting request for help.
I'm not in it for the money Rowan, I just like to help people so why not get paid for it as well.
