There are three basic types of email marketing that home business owners use.
Regular basic email. This is the type of email that MailChimp, and other email marketing companies excel in.
Next up are email auto-responders. Companies like AWeber lead in this arena.
The third type of email is powered by marketing automation CRM companies, such as HubSpot.
What is CRM I hear you ask. Well simply explained using the initials. CRM is Customer Relationship Management. Here's a link that will explain it.
MailChimp recently announced an upgrade to its email marketing services that was moving it into the world of marketing automation.
This new service is a blend of emails that can be sent triggered by a mouse click within an email or website.
Why? Because although some marketing experts have been proclaiming the death of email marketing for years, 'Email' is not dying. What the smart companies are doing is replacing traditional email marketing with marketing automation.
Marketing automation provides limitless personalization. It also enables you to use the power of mass communication, yet provide a very personalized experience to your audience.
Autopresponder - No Longer A Must Have Tool For A Home Business Website
Tips For A Home Based Business - Setting up a website, promoting the website by advertising and trying to direct traffic to your website. Setting up a good autopresponder that will take care of those tedious details used to be the method you could use to cut out all the time responding to your customers.
When setting up a home base business, there are many things that a person should keep in mind. One of the most important things is that making money at home is possible. However, working from home is just like any other job in that you have to work at it. You cannot get something for nothing, and the work that you put into your home base business is a direct indicator of the results you can achieve working form home.
One tool you will definitely need when working from home with your home based business is not a good autoresponder anymore. Why? Because setting up your website with a good autoresponder is no longer another key tool for success.
A reliable autoresponder used to make sure that you didn't miss any customers. It did the work for you, so you didn't have to.
A home based business can be a successful way for working from home, but you must have the necessary tools in place to do it well. These tools include good internet marketing and advertising of your site to promote it. Setting up your website with a good CRM tool is now the way to move your business forward.

This is a great topic Robert, but unfortunately a big one. I have worked with CRMs for many years and am a huge advocate in their use. Most CRMs require a lot of set up and some simply will not work for a sole-proprietorship. I have tried 5 different CRMs only to trash all of them.
Based on your comment above, I will give HubSpot a try.
