Are Good Online Reviews Proof Positive Of How Your Website Ranks?

Hi Folks

A new member asked me last night if a Review Site would make them money?

As people love to read reviews of course I said it was a good idea but the content of those reviews would make a big difference to success or failure. Why is this? Read On...

I personally publish a lot of reviews on my sites and I know from comments left that on the whole they are doing the job they are supposed to. That is they give a clear and unbiased view of the product or service I'm promoting. I also know that with most of them they are looked on favourably by the search engines because they end up on page one of the listings.

Of course everyone here at wealthy affiliate want to rank as high as they can in the listings. Here are a few reasons you probably never really gave much thought to:

  • Free Exposure

With every review your business publishes your customers will be helping to advertise your brand, effectively increasing awareness about what you are offering.

Forget about that old adage about any publicity being good. However the type of response your reviews receive will determine if that publicity is good or bad.

  • Public Opinion

Studies have shown that individuals are far more likely to trust the word of a peer than any advert you can publish. While advice from friends or family is ok, other people are still inclined to lend credibility to online reviews.

For example; A survey last year uncovered that out of the 1,000+ people who responded, 83 percent trusted reviews about companies just as much as a personal endorsement. Therefore positive reviews give the social proof needed to generate new customers.

  • A Boost to Search Engine Optimization

Search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing take reviews into mind when ranking search results. Studies conducted point towards the thought that reviews account for upwards of 10 percent showing how search engines rank listings.

Consequently, the more reviews you have and the better they are, the higher you are likely to rank.

  • Differing Opinions

Not all the comments you receive for your reviews will be good;

Nevertheless negative comments are great opportunities to convert a troubled consumer into a loyal customer and transform your business practices for the better.

  • A Good Relationship With Potential Customers

Such as with social media, responding to customers who leave comments (positive or negative) shows that you are enthusiastic about their opinions and experiences.

Through this customers can get to know you and the other way round.

There you go folks. Now all you have to do is make sure your reviews are targeted towards your product and /or service and more especially to your Brand without prejudice and ultimately your potential customers.

Anyone with their own thoughts please leave them below via a comment.

Enjoy your weekend.

Carol

Hello Carol with the bright eyes.
This blog is number one for the title and headline so I guess that as you say Google likes people to be reminded of great content breeds good relationships.
Have a great week as well and take care.
Robert

Thanks for this Robert, I really need to start doing more reviews, I keep forgetting about them but I do think they are a good idea. xxx

Hello Cheryl and thank you for taking the time to read my blog and of course for leaving a comment.
This blog was No. 1 on Google in 4 minutes so there you go.
Google must like it when people are reminded what gets a good rank lol.
I'm off home now for eats.
Catch you again.
Robert

Well done you Robert and you are very welcome. I hope you are well and you enjoy your tea. I am still owe you a coffee. xxx

What you are trying to do online should be consulted to answer the question in the title:

Google (Bing, Yahoo, etc.) are looking for quality content. They are looking for the appropriate number of words and keywords balanced into compelling copy.

What is it that you have that can be compelling? The answer, of course, is yourself (Brand) and the topic you have chosen as your niche! This is where your passion is and it is in this that you can talk (Write) about.

The compelling copy comes from within you, based on any research that is necessary. A review is a perfect vehicle for this!

The more reviews, the better and Google (Bing, Yahoo, etc.) will love you!

Hello Mickey and thank you for your input.
It seems I am getting it right with my title and headline Mickey because this blog is number one in the search engines.
Those two will get the people to the blog and what you have within your blog will get them to take heed of what you are telling them.

The proof of the pudding as they say.
Have a great Sunday Mickey and a successful week to come.
Robert

That's significant. Brands = relationships
Niche = group of people!

Yes indeed Mike.
Success depends on the successful relationships you build with your customers.
People that keep coming back to you are doing so because they trust the source of information you have in your reviews.
Enjoy your Sunday and the week ahead.

Hi Robert, excellent information thank you.

I agree about trusting a consumer review over a manufacturer description. You can't trust enough these days, but reading a consumer review makes a difference. Especially the helpful, quality content, and any experience with the review topic is important :)

Hello Patsy and thank you for your input via your comment.
I have always found that word-of-mouth is a great advertiser.
People will read about a product or service and will pass it on to their family and friends and quite possibly urge then to read the same review.

Good reviews - Good
Bad reviews - Don't have to be bad news for you.
It depends on your content and how you have come across in your content.
You turn the negatives into positives with your reply to the comments.
Works for me and it will work for anyone else who takes the time to give an honest answer.
Have a great Sunday.
Robert

You are welcome Robert.
Yes, word of mouth has always come through it's something we can all relate to.

I agree fully how we can turn the negative into positive.
I've had this experience before where I showed the 'other' side and it was a surprise for the one who commented to see this.

Thanks, have a great Sunday yourself :)

Yes honesty is the best policy when dealing with people and especially if you want them to part with some of their money.
Just about to sign off for the night.
Have a great week ahead.
Robert

Hello Beauty and thank you for reading my blog.
Hope you went away with those tips and advice in mind to put into practice for your own business.
Have a great Sunday.
Robert

I always appreciate the thoroughness of your posts, Robert. This is is an area that I definitely need to approve upon, so I'll make sure to add your post to my favorites.

Thank you!

Hi Veronica and many thanks for taking the time to read my blog and for your kind words.
Quite a few members sites I've looked at seem to forget that the visitors to their sites are actual people with opinions and thoughts of their own.
This can sometimes be seen in the comments they leave.
Its in every marketers interest to take heed of those comments and act on them.
Its good to know you will be looking at your content a wee bit closer from now on.
Enjoy your Saturday.
Robert

It just thought of how many times, when I've applied for something online, and there would be a box at the bottom, "check below if you're not a robot". A customer is a person, not a robot, lol.

100% buddy and thanks for sharing

Paul
