You might ask yourself what are the search engines looking for when they crawl websites? Well, although each search engine uses a different set of algorithms to rank websites, generally speaking there are some main factors that are considered by the search engines. One of those is Linking.
Many search engines use a ranking system that involves measuring and ranking the number of links that are directed towards a particular website. This is an extremely powerful traffic generation tools because: Building a well thought-out linking strategy is a great way to attract large numbers of targeted traffic! Think about it. A person arrives at their favourite website and sees a link to your website. Obviously, developing a linking strategy that generates a high volume of targeted traffic to your web site is not an overnight process. It can take you several months to secure the quality links you need. Once you have done the initial footwork though, the links that are established will remain on these websites for years to come.
Another factor to think about is your Domain Name. A domain name plays a vital role in traffic generation to any website. Domain names rich in keywords will rank higher in search engines because search engines love URL's that have great keywords. You should do lots of research for your keywords and key phrases for your website then use them to create a great URL. This will ensure you get ranked higher in the search engines.
Keywords are definitely a key factor to ensure a high ranking. Your keyword density is a factor that is very much considered by search engines, so it's very important to make strategic use of your keywords throughout your website.
There you have it folks. In my opinion these are the main factors through which you can achieve a high rank and therefore drive high traffic to your website. I should also mention that you should not expect to enter a couple of your top keywords into the search engines and instantly start making money. However you can really generate a high traffic volume through search engines. Then its up to your content to turn them into buyers.
