So I've been searching about for a new niche to get into. I've had another website up for almost 4 months now and it's done pretty well on Google and I've had a healthy amount

Thanks!

Hi there again,
Follow on to below....
As far as YouTube...I would go for it
If its in your head and you are thinking and talking about it...
I would go for it
Afterall its a very topical subject or niche and you can promote several different aspects of it
And then to promote cameras, mikes, and so on...
Go for it, I say
Cheers again and best wishes
PB

Thanks Phil!

Hi there,
I hear your argument...
I can't help, unfortunately
I suspect that people will not offer any solutions for you ....because anything that they would recommend, maybe they would like to do that for themselves
I remember being in that boat, when I first joined WA
But I found a niche and that was one that I knew a great deal about...
since then I have been writing down on a note book other niches that I would like to creat a website on and I will admit, I have a pretty interesting list.

Best wishes on your next adventure
Cheers PB

Hey Rhys,

If you've followed all of the steps detailed in the following posts:
http://nichehacks.com/chapter-5-find-niche-market/

http://www.chrisducker.com/finding-your-niche/

http://www.pastmasterblogger.com/the-ultimate-guide-to-niche-market-analysis/#niche-market-analysis-starting-a-business

and your niche proves viable ... GO for it!

Suggest you also start a Facebook group so you will have followers to your channel straight away!

Thanks! I'll take a look at these :)

I also love YouTube, I think if you are sincere, engaging, entertaining, and have good content, you can do awesome. I would rather watch someone I can relate to than some of the corporate types. I like to see what "real" people do to be successful. You should totally go for it!

I'm definitely considering it :)

There is nothing wrong with going for niches that have heavy hitters in it like Forbes or other wise.

It is not a good idea to do so for your first site because of the competition but if you are OK with being a little extra patient than most than by all means throw your name in the big boy hat.

Jay's training is suggestions not law!

He is right, it will be harder to rank in those niches and it will take more time than others.

That is where the patience comes in because if you're willing to wait a bit longer the payoff will be that much better.

My first niche was in a niche that has Forbes and other bid sites like it and I am out ranking them in search for quite a few terms.

Googles search ranking algo is always changing and now with the raise of Rank Brain search is wide open and not all of the old "SEO Laws" apply like they used to or at least not with as much ranking factor as they used too.

In other words, if you are a patient person than go for whatever you want to go for because it can be done.

It's just not a good idea to start off that way in such a competitive niche with the big players.

But again it can very well be done.

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide that insight! :D

A subject that will be the focal point of your website...
Something that you have experience and know how that others can learn from
This will attract the people that will be your traffic.
The more traffic you have the more exposure to your affiliate links.

Hey Rhys!

I haven't reached 100% site trust because I use more plug-ins than they recommend. I do notice a difference in ranking a little faster with my sites that have high trust compared to a new one that hasn't gained trust yet.

I will say though that internal links have better effect on ranking though. And submitting the site and/or articles to google also have a bigger effect on ranking than trust by my experience.

Hope this helps :)

I'm curious about this one. If your website was say a year old (or at least had 100% site trust in the site manager section), how quickly could you expect your posts to rank?

Hey Rhys,

You could have 100% trust and offer low quality content and not get ranked at all ... or have 30% trust and offer great, unique, in demand content and get ranked on Google page 1.

Google picks their own "keywords" to rank a post and/or page for. You can see which keywords your site gets ranked for in your Google Analytics.

Anywhere from a few minutes to never.

How quick do new posts rank if website is a few months old?

Hey Rhys,

The best way I know how is:
1) purchase and use a fully optimized theme - this removes the necessity for sooooo many plugins ... and should offer you the option to optimize your images

2) optimize all images 3) add a cache plugin These are some of the easiest methods to speed up your website that I am aware of. There are more than these, but MOST website owners do not attend to these, thus my advice to you.

Hope this helps you.

Thanks Triblu! I'll take a look at those options!

The sheer number of plug-ins is probably what is bogging you down. I use no more than three-five personally.

Alright thanks. I'll see what I can do

Hi all,

Just thought I'd pop a question. I've been coming across Alex Becker a lot. He's popping up in a lot of youtube ads that I watch. I've had no experience with him

Slow and STEADY is what's going to win the race for you, my friend. I don't know if I've seen him specifically but I see and endless amount of these people all over social media and youtube ads. They are just trying to push their product packages. I've looked into 2 of them and they were both scams. Steer clear and stick to what's been proven time and time again.

Hey Chad81,

Gotcha. I was just curious because I've seen a ton of scams promising easy rankings too with products that you'd need to sell your kidney to afford. You're completely right with your 'slow and steady' comment. Couldn't agree more. There's no quick way to make money or rankings. Thanks for your reply :)

Hi, RMcKenna. The process is what it is and even if you pay somebody it will take some time. There is no fly by night deal and don't worry it will come. All you need to do is put in the work.

Hello pparadise,

Thanks for your reply. Yeah I totally understand the whole time aspect of getting ranks in Google. It takes time to get ranks and that's that. Thank you for your answer!

Dude is just trying to sell his product and while there are ways that can get your site ranked faster the same tactics will also get your site knocked out of search results the next time Google rolls out a Panda or Penguin update.

Also the "tactics" he is trying to sell you is not only going to mean you have to pay him you will also pay out quite a bit to get his tactics to work.

Rank will come and it will get much easier to rank for keywords the older your site gets.

My site is a little over three years old now and I am able to rank for new keywords any where between 4- 6 hours and 12 hours at the latest.

There is no substitute for hard work not if you want your site to stand the test of time and Google bots.
Jason

Hey Jason,

Thanks for that man. Yeah I knew it was shady looking source for SEO info. Probably a lot of Black Hat SEO tactics involved (only just learned what Black Hat SEO tactics are).

100% agree with your hard work statement. Thanks for putting your opinion forward!

That's interesting... definitely seems a little scammy. I'm sure there are other ways, but I kind of like the idea of getting ranked through quality content and keywords because it feels more honest. I have only been with WA for about a month, but they haven't let me down yet. But I haven't been doing this long enough to see much result with regard to my Google rankings. Sorry I can't answer your question, but I find that a different perspective always helps.

I know what you mean. I've been here for 6 months and my rankings haven't been too great. Totally agree with the thing about content. It just seems so much more rewarding to get ranked the harder you work with making great content. I found Becker's system pretty sketchy. He seems more like a salesman who's found his own success and is trying to sell it.

I'm hoping to get some more insight into this issue from the veterans of internet marketing to see what they think about Becker and his salesman type 'Get ranked quick' scheme.
