COVID AFTERMATH

It Threw Us All 'Out Of Whack'

I really don't have to tell you that 2020 kicked all our behinds! How wealthy affiliate and our business prevented us from totally losing our minds. We lost people we knew and loved. We were constantly reminded on TV, radio and all over social media about staying 6ft apart, wearing mask when we go out anywhere and away from crowds.

Also, we had to explain to our children the changes happening in our society and why wearing a mask was essential.

Remember, when it first hit us, they were telling us to stay at home. It was like living in a cave or a bubble.

Basically, we had to put ourselves on lock down.'

Unless you were a die hard TV person, we, as marketers, had no other choice but to plunge deep into our business.

In a funny and weird way, covid actually helped us! It made us concentrate on spending time doing many other things.

During isolation, we had a total of 14 months to do what ever it was we had to do. What ever could fill our time slots, so we don't become bored as hell.

Family Time Limited

At the height of the pandemic, I feel this was one of the hardest things we had to deal with. No contact. (Boy! This was rough!) If it wasn't for texting and zoom, we'd go crazy. We all missed those family gatherings, big dinners and warm, happy smiles. (And I can't rule out FB Face ).

You noticed how the pregnancy rate seem to increase dramatically, during this time.

(Hell! What else have couples got to do with all that 'downtime?')

Set a scheduled time, put the kids to bed early, then mama and daddy 'Get Busy!'

If anymore new little family additions pop up down the road, just add more 'water to the soup.' You'll survive. Won't be heavy on the finances.

Many Things On My Mind

My Wealthy Affiliate business was a non-stop thing back during 2020. As I mentioned earlier, the lock down was like a 'Blessing in disguise.' I got a lot done during those 14 weeks of 'lock down.'

Back tracking over the training and staying on top of Jay's weekly Friday night classes is like 'Gold.' I was working on my business day & night. Some days I felt burnt out. (I think we all had days like that). When, not working on our business, we're doing something else. Thank God I was able to stay creative in other things.

You see I love art as well. Been creating through art for a long time. I like using oil paints the most.

Creative painting and pencil drawing, doing cartoons and all other crazy stuff, is one of the things I live for.

Many of you here have hidden skills for creative arts, and don't even realize it!

I never knew I could really draw until at 9 years old I was drawing on the inside of my text book.

I drew a picture of a cowboy, 'The Rifleman' for another classmate. And when I finished, he took my book and 'squealed' on me to the teacher.

It got me in big trouble. (I should've kicked his ass)!

This was my escape route when I want a break from doing Wealthy Affiliate.

I started thinking about looking into art fairs out here in California. I found one, submitted my work but was turned down.

I think it's feel it's politically connected. (Also, I only been in the state four months).

I'm still kinda new to the state (Only been here three years. Covid took away one year, couldn't get around. Damn it!)

But I've always had the mind set if you fall down, you get right back up. Keep moving forward and 'never give up!'

Manhattan Beach Art Center

Here in California where I live, we are considered the 'Entertainment Capital Of The World'.

Folks come from all over, just to break into the entertainment field. That's why I felt good making the move to California. (I figured I'll get a chance to showcase my art and music skills).

The Manhattan Beach Art Center were looking for artist to display their work in its gallery.

I submitted two paintings, they selected this one, a Cavalier King James spaniel,
to exhibit in their gallery starting July 16th to Sept.12th (An 8 week run)

I'm excited for the opportunity & art recognition of my work, by a well-known gallery.

Now I don't feel too bad that the first art fair turned me down. I just kept the faith because I knew something else would develop.

Music Is Family Passion

I moved from Chicago to California May 1st, 2018 after selling my home. I decided to make this move after my wife died July 10, 2015. I have family here in California, but most of my family is still in Chicago.

While in Chicago, my oldest and youngest brother sing and record together. We've been doing this for a long time. They both are song writers. My younger brother in Chicago has a full recording studio in his den and we produced three CDs. (We're currently looking for a marketing outlet.)

I know my brothers are hoping that I make some type of musical contact out here in LA. I'm hoping for the same thing. We do all types of music styles, but our focus is on gospel.

My older brother and myself have been singing together since in our teens (My younger brother wasn't even born yet, but did start making musical contributions years later.)

This is our group we formed together back in high school. (That's me kneeling with the white framed glasses, my brother standing behind me).

We wanted to be the next soul group like, 'The Temptations'. We did pattern our group off them, had the voices and all the 'fancy foot work.'

Having the same type of sound, great four part harmony, we had it going on. Just no million dollar record deal. LOL!

Sometimes, I sit back reminiscing on days-gone-by. Those were some incredible fun times singing with the group back in the early years, but thankful I'm still musically active. (My voice haven't totally left me yet) LOL.

I currently go out and sing at karaoke bars to give myself a break. And when inspiration hit, I do some artwork. Although I'm an old fart now, lol, working peacefully on my Wealthy Affiliate business. I hope to one day, become the best marketer that I can be.

Stay Safe Everyone.
