Feeling Defeated, Discouraged, Uninspired. Unless I Can Write Humour?

Hello, all;

I'm back from a break. Long story short, I put the pause button on WA and pursued e-commerce and failed miserably. I am frustrated by the lack of support in e-commerce that you don't have to pay hundreds to thousands of dollars for, and I'm back here with a healthy respect for WA and now I truly believe in its potential.

My dilemma?

I have NO idea what I want to start a blog about. I have many interests but I'm not passionate about any of them. I'm rather apathetic, actually. Is there a niche for a 30-something who is frustrated about being a self-employed adult, working part-time and barely breaking even while in pursuit of something more? Because I'm ready to do that. It's not going to add value unless they want to relate, vent, and laugh at my stupid webcomics illustrating my point. I picture something like Hyperbole and a Half but in my own flavour. And what the heck could I even sell with a blog like that? I want to make more than a modest income.

What I'm interested in I can't imagine making sales from. I like psychology, philosophy, and humour. And I'm not even that technical about any of it. I'm constantly in an existential crisis of some kind and I ironically love cats and dogs but can't own them because of allergies. I feel like that's comedy gold (at least for someone like me), but can a humour blog from a frustrated adult really lead to sales?

I don't want to feel stuck selling merch for my own brand...

Does anyone else have a humour blog as their main niche? I'd love to hear from you...

You have set us a challenge, let us see what the response is! As yet my brain is a little fried as it is rather late.

Just an idea really. There's nothing wrong with writing about a topic but using a "humorous" tone of voice. Writing has a pitch, a tone, a voice.

I have a B.A. In writing and the biggest thing I learned was that no writing is the same. There are millions of authors there's only one you. And you know something that I don't see a lot? Humor.

Read 100 blogs and I bet that 98 of them will sound emotionless. Writing should have emotion and if your drawn to humor than use it!

I like connecting with my readers. I present information at non stop speeds in my writing. Does it scare people off? Of course! Just like reading a post about "The Best Smart T.Vs On The Market" that is presented with humor and laughs might scare people from your site.

But I bet the ones who stay will stay nearly forever.

There's always the niche about teaching other comedy people to succeed in today's world but that's really all I got lol

This was really encouraging - I am a very emotional person. I feel I can probably connect with people in any niche!

WE all believe you can. You have an entire community behind you!

I sincerely love this community
