There are a lot of themes out there and it takes a long time to get through all the possible options.
I am still new to online marketing and SEO and I don't know what I "nee

I don't know much about you niche, but I do know that people who are into that really specialize. If I were you, I would google the subjects and see which seem to get the most hits. Sci fi is still huge. Secondly, I would look at what kind of affiliate relationships are available in each area. Thirdly, i think its important to decide which format you are looking at .... paper, back, illustrated novel, comic book, periodical. I guess this isn't much help because you still have to make a choice about genre.

How do I choose the best theme for me?

I am currently trying to get comments on my website.

I received my 1st comment today but it is not entirely positive. They hit me pretty hard on writing style and they

Its all part of the game.
You will get good and bad comments and if you're wise you will take it on the chin and reply as best you can.
Of course you can always delete a less than positive comment.
Enjoy your day.
Robert Allan

Thanks Robert, that sounds fair to me.

I also noticed that we appear to have the ability to edit the comment (here at W.A.).

Is this correct and is it okay to use this option to make it less negative?
Or... is it unethical/immoral to edit somebody's comment

You can but then the person who made the comment can report it.
If the comment is within WA then you can delete it.
I get lots of less than complimentary comments and I don't worry about it.
I reply with the b est answer I can think of.
If the comment is on your site you can also delete it or edit it.
Robert

Thanks again for your advice!!

Ok, so it does also have a negative impact with ranking in google. Thank you for sharing! I was most curious about that fact ;)

You'll also find that if your grammar or spelling is really bad Google will correct it for anyone who searches. So, in some cases, you might rank for the keyword but people won't get shown those SERPs. Instead, they get shown the corrected version.

Very interesting! The things that go on behind the scenes always intrigue me and here we thought spell check was great, back in the day ;)

Thanks for the added info!!

So, it does not sound like there are any real big issues SEO wise and all rather than just readability.

That makes sense... I think it is as I thought. You would then just be writing for traffic and would be writing in a way that humans don't do.

This may work for traffic but not for quality content. This could hurt you long term as you may have difficulties maintaining quality followers too.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this!

Google does also pay attention to grammar. So, if you have bad grammar or spelling, there is a risk that your content will be considered lower quality, which will have direct SEO implications.

Personally, I wouldn't risk it.

The only time that I would use a keyword that is bad grammatically would be when I could make it okay with clever punctuation.

Thanks again!

No reason why you can't use fantasy-books-teens as your page permalink and "Best Fantasy Books for Teens" as your title.

That is an interesting approach!

I would not have thought of that but I suppose you are almost able to address 2 different keywords at once that way.

I have been refraining from posting Keyword rich posts until I have some static content established as webpages. This is mostly because I don't want people visiting my website

Do not postpone anything. Publish posts as soon as they are ready.

thanks for the advice!

When starting a new site I go for a mix of static pages and posts. It's OK to drive traffic as long as you're capturing email as you build the site out. Organic traffic takes months to get rolling along at a good rate, so I would worry about doing SEO as you build.

Thanks for the insight!

I kind of suspected this but my time is limited right now and I did not want to get started and have to back off.

It sounds like it doesn't really matter since the traffic will not come as soon as I post my 1st post but over time as I continue to post.

I think I will get my 1st post out after my next book summary is complete ;)

Thanks again!!

Early on in the training we created some webpages for practice/experience. In doing this we were not trained on keywords yet.

I agree. The only problem comes if you have linked to the page you are about to delete. Users will be sent to a page that does not exist. If this might happen, then you can add a redirect plugin to assist you.

Hi there...
You can delete whatever you like...it's not going to make that much difference to your rankings unless you can re write what you have or do some para phrasing to include some of the words you want in the post...I change and update my posts quite often so think about keeping it and beefing it up to read how you want it to...hope this helps a bit...
Best wishes
Steve

deleting a page will create a 404, you would have to create a 301 redirect, you could just rewrite the page although you would still have the same URL.

Thank you for responding!

So, it is typically not a good idea to delete a page as it will cause some issues/errors.
I'm not familiar with the issues and fixes associated with 404s and 301s...

I can rewrite it to avoid this but I may want to keep the same page name since the URL will not change.

It sounds like my best bet will be to try and work keywords into the page I already have whether they are high competition or not.

Thanks again Gordon!!

Thank you for that cookie. Very nice tasty one to know.
...Is it possible to create said redirect if one no longer remembers the name of the page one deleted? :-/

If you dont want to do a personal 404 redirect page there is a wp plugin that will do the job automatically for you- 404 to 301 redirect, this plugin will redirect any 404 page back to whatever you set it to.
