40 Days and 40 Nights
Time flies when you're having fun and the last fourty days have flown by. It's almost six weeks since I joined WA and I have learned a great deal.
The community is fantastic and the help, encouragement, training and depth of knowledge here is phenominal.
Within a day or two of joining I had signed up for premium and within a week I knew I had made the right decision and would be around for the longer term. I had already decided to take out annual membership when Kyle put in place the Black Friday offer which I have taken advantage of.
Progress
To it appears to me that my progress has slowed to a crawl; I have to remind myself that it hasn't. What I have realised is the truth in that saying "the more I learn, the more I realise I don't know" and I pause occasionally to look back to remind myself how far I've come.I have to force myself out of my comfort zone to write a blog, I'm quite happy to comment but to compile one is a different matter, I'm not yet fully familiar with placing and sizing images and I don't have anyone to delegate this task to! Such a hard life!!
I've just completed level two of the OEC, I have one website up and running and I initially tried biting off more than I could chew. I have a tendancy to try to run before I can walk, give me a little knowledge and I can be dangerous as I often act with haste. What I have done now is to pace myself; I've set realistic targets for May, the next six moths, 2020 year end and one year hence.
What I have done is taken some action every day, I still have a small business to run which, like many, has taken a hit with the current state of affairs and I've found great comfort in this community. I wish to say a huge thank you to all of you for the wecome, the advice and the help I've received.
Fourty days and nights have passed since I joined WA, over 10% of a year! When I was a small boy my grandmother told me that when we get older time goes more quickly. At the time I thought "what rubbish", now I realise she was right!

Oh it definitely runs away with you the older you get Rick, I can vouch for that one!
The point about finding out there's more to learn the more you learn is a valid one as each snippet of new info comes with its own set of new questions but doing it all bite size is sensible. After all, you can't eat an elephant all in one go!
Good stuff Rick

Yes, bite size pieces is definitely best Mark, I find myself wishing I'd learned a little more about the internet and its workings years ago, but I'm aware I can't change the past.
I'm pleased to have found WA when I did.
Have a great weekend.
Maybe so Rick but there's no reason why us, ahem, "more experienced" people can't get to grips with it and thrive with it.
Have a great weekend yourself too Rick👍
Mark
Absolutely right, no reason at all why those of us more experienced in life can't thrive.
For a long time it was my uncertainty, pride and fear of "not being very good" with technology that prevented me investigating the internet world!
At the rate I'm learning in a year or two I might catch up with my children!!
Cheers
Rick
Big Congratulations on your progress so far.
Taking a pause for thought on what you have achieved so far is important. It gives confidence, inspiration and motivation to keep moving forward.
I wish you much success.

Congrats on completing level 2. Moving along nicely I would say. Your goals seem realistic and thats a good thing. Keep up the good work my friend

Thanks Greg, I'm reasonably happy with how I'm moving forward; I'm not in a race, I want to understand, digest and put into practise what I learn and I want to keep momentum.
It's great to have the WA community for support and encouragement.
