Wealthy Affiliate Is People Helping People
But I would like to spend a few moments talking about the people at Wealthy Affiliate and the fact that very few of us have actually met face to face.
Community
One definition that I particularly like is that we are a "unified body of individuals". We have a common goal and are working together to achieve it, albeit as individuals. But the group support and encouragement lets us know that we are not working in isolation, regardless of the country we are from or the particular circumstances we are in.
There is no corporate ladder
Many of us have experienced this at work and know that others may very well trample on us on their way to the top. At Wealthy Affiliate, our businesses are based on our efforts and everyone here truly wishes for our individual success. In my 4 months I have not had anyone climb over me or push me into the mud.
Owners that engage
We know who Kyle and Carson are, we see one or both of them most every day. They are leading by example and are setting the bar high for all of us to interact with one another in a genuine and respectful manner...and to include that way of thinking and writing in our websites. That's a business model that I will follow any time.
Empathy and Compassion
I am continually surprised, impressed, and moved by the support and encouragement that is found here at WA. I read a post today of a member who was discouraged and I read with appreciation the many comments of encouragement and wisdom he received. I did add my own words as well, just like I've received similar support when I needed it. Many of us are not accustomed to working alone in front of a computer screen so knowing that there are caring members out there gives us reason to hit the help and reply buttons.
The impact "out there"
Not only does WA develop our people skills and our compassion in our online community, it is also something that we can and should use in our day to day interactions in the "real world". Since joining, I am more conscious of my actions at work, with my family, and even in my community. It may be that I can offer information, support, or a listening ear...just like we do here.
Wealthy Affiliate is a business and each of us are creating our own business...and it's a privilege creating it with people who wish us nothing but success.
Thanks for reading.

Of all the things on your list I think community rates highest with me. My worldview is greatly expanded since joining WA
Yeah, that's a big one for me, too. Even with my website I'm more focused on helping people and giving them the information they are looking for.
Great Post Rick. You are right in everything you said. I think i would of used this as an article to promote WA! lol
If you think about it this article is promoting WA. It gets indexed in the search engines and when people click on it and enjoy the article they might decide to join. Then he will get full credit for them joining. Awesome post Rick
Hey Rick, great post and a very accurate overview of WA! Kyle and I have always aimed to not only make community as helpful as possible, but to make it feel safe and friendly to everyone. It's a great feeling to hear you mention these things. Thanks :)
Thanks Carson. This is a great place and like Kathy says below, we get renewed and, I would add, recharged when we're here.
I feel this way too Rick! It's great having a place to work along side dedicated online entrepreneurs like yourself! The possibilities are endless for those who stick with it. Rome wasn't built in a day, and Internet success does not happen overnight. It will happen for EVERY single person who is dedicated to learning and taking action. Keep inspiring people!! Motivational posts like this help so many people realize what it is to be part of WA!
Well said, my Friend and well written. I believe it speaks for all of us here who are so grateful for the help and encouragement we receive at WA. Working with others who have a common goal is such a satisfying feeling. Thank you for putting this sentiment out there that I know all of us have in our hearts. It really is a privilege to work with the WA community. Not only that, but every day because all of you are here, I am inspired and renewed. Your post is living proof of that.
I think many of us are renewed when we engage here. Working on our own is tough but it's like having a 2nd home here in WA. Enjoying our chats, Kathy. All the best to you.
Aside from the fact that I also took on the 30 day challenge also it seems to be going well. I am bogged down.
Wow, a very astute post. Thank you so much, Rick, for capturing the true essence of this special community. I am honored more than ever now to be a part of it.

This was the best! Do you think Kyle and Carson could set up a community for the U.S. Congress and the President? If they had the support and caring we all have here - maybe some of the problems in the world could be solved better.
And I agree with IGOTFISH, my world view has improved. I think we have hope as a species.
I like your idea, I think a lot of world issues could be solved if everyone treated one another like we do here. Hope is a great thing. Thanks for reading.
