On October 31st I blogged about a writing challenge I was entering for write 50,000 words in 30 days. You can read about it here: "See You In 50,000 Words". I'm very happy to report that I was able to do just over 70,300 words and now have a completed novel. I do want to note that I took the first 11 days of November off work and that helped get me close to my goal. I knew all along that I wanted to complete a 70,000 word novel so I was pretty motivated. Now to edit and uplo
Hi everyone. This is my second year in a row taking advantage of the Black Friday discount at Wealthy Affiliate and I wanted to tell you that I have no regrets! My first year I paid monthly but then a year ago I had earned enough in WA affiliate commissions to pay for the discounted annual membership. That brought me great peace of mind as I stopped thinking about making my monthly payments (even though it was all automated) and started thinking about my 12 month plan and how I would map out
From Canada -- To all the American WA members at home and abroad -- I wish you all the best this Thanksgiving and trust you and yours have a fantastic weekend. You're in my thoughts...enjoy!

Hi folks. As some of you know I've gone back to writing Western fiction. This November I've decided to enter the NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) writing challenge. This is a challenge to write 50,000 words in 30 days. I've never done it before but I'm really looking forward to it. This will be the equivalent of 50 blogs of 1,000 words each. Here's what I've done so far: Outline is 90% done Character sketches are 90% done Setting is 80% done (I don't have all the minor location
I've been working on promoting my newest project and have recently been posting publicly on social media. And guess who has jumped in and commented, re-shared, and liked my FB page? You guessed it...WA members. All I can say is "Thank you". You have warmed my heart and reinforced that this is the best online community there is. Did I say "Thank you"!
I've got things to write, things to promote, and things to learn...and 24 hours a day to do this in. Oh yes, let's not forget a job to work, a family to grow, and activities to do. Here's my new schedule: WEEKDAYS Morning (before work) - grab a coffee and go to my writing place for at least one hour Afternoon (after work) - exercise Evening - study a specific lesson on WA or my writing class for 60 to 90 minutes. Then turn the lights to where I like (you should control your lighting and
Hi folks. I just wanted to create a quick success post about how well the training at Wealthy Affiliate really works. I haven't been able to do a lot of work on my website for the past 5 months or so for personal reasons. But now that I'm getting back at it I thought I would check how well (or poor) some of my review posts were doing. Well, it shouldn't come as a surprise but here's what I found...and I was in Google Incognito: One of my posts written in January of this year is in the number
Hi folks. Are you planning to do a Christmas site? If so, you may want to start now. I had a successful Christmas site last year and I'm starting to see a slight spike in activity. I.e. Traffic in Google Analytics and even some re-pinning from Pinterest (which I got a lot of activity from). You will need some time to get it up and running so you're ranking as the season approaches. I have some links I need to update and begin working on the direction of my site for this year. It may be

Hi folks. Many of us arrived at Wealthy Affiliate because we were scammed on the internet and likely even lost some (a lot?) of money. But now that you've been here for however long I wonder how many of us are still tempted. So I'm curious, how do you decide if "a new opportunity" is a scam or not? What questions do you ask yourself? What flags are you looking for? I think it's great when I read WA blogs asking other members if they think something is a scam or not. I think it's a great w
My Definition: choosing to help and support (what's your definition?) We all know that WA is a supportive online business community made up of people who likely will never meet...BUT...who like nothing better than to see one another succeed, in both our personal and business lives. The help and support we give each other is one of the main reasons many of us stay; working at home in isolation can be difficult. And so we come here to refresh, recharge and connect. My question, and hence the wo
