So, Have I Been Here 3 Months Or Is It More Like 5 or 6?

Well, both really…

How?

Well, I became a Member of this awesome Community in January but I’ve had an unplanned and unwanted 2-and-a-bit month ‘break’ if you can call it that.

In April, I contracted an extremely debilitating virus in my respiratory tract that left me with very little physical or mental energy for around 6 weeks. It was basically like having flu the whole time.

I was not able to concentrate on anything ‘cerebral’ and so that brought my Bootcamp training to a grinding halt at Course 1 Lesson 7. Not a disaster, however, as the Bootcamp has been revamped and I rewound to the beginning yesterday to go through the new version and to give myself a refresher.

I have still done bits here and there like connecting with newbies and fellow Premiums and liking and commenting on the odd blog post, so I haven’t been completely away from it.

Also, for the past few weeks my ‘Part Time’ 15 hour a week job suddenly went Full-on-full-time and I was working flat out all kinds of crazy hours but that’s all settled down now to about 25 hours per week – nicely manageable with a bit more pay!

So, here I am back in the ‘Driving Seat’, which is the point of my title for this post.

WE SHOULD NOT MEASURE OUR PROGRESS BY THE LENGTH OF TIME OF OUR MEMBERSHIP – RATHER BY HOW LONG WE’VE ACTUALLY BEEN ACTIVE.

So, effectively I’ve been with WA for 3 months.

So, what is my progress so far?

Well, I upgraded to Premium on Day 1 and to Annual within my first week. Within the following 3 months I had got my first website up and running with 4 decent but still to be tweaked pages, gained over 1000 followers, written 19 blog posts and got into the Top 200. Due to said inactivity, I dropped to Rank 313 but I’m working my way back up.

So, what have I learned so far?

First and most importantly, that after having struggled with various forms of marketing over the years, there is nothing out there to compare with WA. This is a ‘One Stop Shop’ University with a vast wealth of resources both within the programme itself and within the Community, who’s more experienced and knowledgeable members are more than happy to share so as to help others.

I’d like to make particular mention of people like Jay, Tony Hamilton, Loes, Steve1958, Mike Kearns, Marion Black, Ericcantu, JewelCarol, Paul Goodwin, WilliamBH to name but a few. There are many more, so if I haven’t mentioned you, it’s certainly not out of less respect to you than those I have mentioned.

I learned also to be a little cautious about going up in rank too quickly. My rapid increase in rank was not down to technical knowledge or being able to be particularly helpful to newbies struggling with the training, it was simply down to my interaction with other WA Members.

I became quite nervous as I had no prior experience with creating websites and I fretted that new Members who might not understand the rank structure would see me in the Top 200 as some kind of ‘Maestro’ affiliate marketer or website creator to whom they could turn as a ‘Font of Knowledge’, only for me not to live up to their expectations.

Whilst I was happy in the Top 200, I didn’t really want to go any higher without an income generating website.

On the other hand, when I looked at the comments I was getting on my blog posts, particularly the ones where I focus on self-development, I started to feel a little more comfortable with my rank. Self-development is a passion of mine and, I believe, an essential ingredient to success in both business and life in general. I realized that I was actually helping people after all, and maybe some of the things I had posted might have made some people who may have been thinking of leaving WA due to temporary lack of self-belief give it one more go or a bit more time.

So, if going up in rank means more people seeing those posts and maybe getting a little bit of inspiration when they feel stuck in a rut, then I’m happy with that. It also means that my own website will be going up the Search Engine rankings and increasing my chances of Referrals. However, I do not feel anywhere near ready for Ambassadorship at the moment!

I’m so glad to be back at the wheel and a part of this awesome Community again. You’re an amazing bunch of people who truly make this fantastic programme Kyle and Carson have given us so much more than just the sum of its parts.

Onwards and upwards!

Rich

Welcome back...that is the advantage of membership...it keeps us committed...along with all the great things we are learning. Continued success. Debbie

So true, Debbie - annual is the way to go :-)

We are glad to have you back, Rich. I hope that respiratory bug is completely out of your system.

All better now, Wayne, thanks for the kind welcome back :-)

Thank you for the share Rich, glad to hear that you are on the mend and ready and rearing to go.

Thanks, Harvey - the great thing about WA is that we can start over and make today Day 1 whenever we need to :-)

As the saying goes, time flies when you're having fun.

It certainly does! :-)

Thanks Rich, great post and as a new member of 2 weeks, it's very heartening to hear stories like this as it gives me great confidence in the community I have joined. Cheers

You're welcome, Paul - glad you got some inspiration from it :-)
Rich

What an incredible post, Rich.

First and foremost, I'm glad your health has improved.

Second, I've learned that we all have something unique to contribute to this community. Just as a body has many parts, so this community has many elements that make it so incredible.

The same insecurity you felt about being in the Top 200 is the same insecurity I felt about becomming an Ambassador. I actually had no desire to be one...none! I Iiked being in the Top 50 and I was happy to be there. But, in the end, the WA algorithms have the last word, lol. I'm still not a techie and I may never be one, but I know that whatever I contribute has value...not because I think so, but because others say so in their comments.

I'm glad you have embraced your role, Rich. All the best with moving forward!

Thanks, Veronica - you've articulated your feelings about the value of your and all of our own contributions brilliantly there. Any positive feedback we get on whatever we contribute to the Community proves it has been of benefit to somebody in some way :-)
Rich

Thanks for sharing, Rich.

You're welcome, Rog - nice to hear from you :-)
Rich

Hi Rich, welcome back. Irv.

Thanks, Irv :-)

Good for you Rich, well done for hanging in there. How long have you been doing Self-development for?

Carl

Hi Carl
I got into when I was in my twenties to a limited degree for the purpose of overcoming shyness and when I got into MLM in the early 2000's I really started to study it big time. It's a great concept that I think everybody should embrace :-)
Rich
