I'd Love To Have The Community's Opinions On A Couple Of Domain Names Please!
I'd love to have the Community's opinions on a couple of domain names I've purched please.
I'm not overly inspired by the name of my current Bootcamp site, not so much for the name itself, but because I feel it's too long and it's also hyphenated which, I believe, is not good for SEO.
As I was accepted for this year's Super Affiliate Challenge, I thought I'd make a completely fresh start and effectively make this 'Day 1' of my Weatlhy Affiliate membership going forward as my 2 and a bit years have been littered with false starts and distractions.
I thought I'd start with a fresh site with a fresh look, and started looking for domain names to include the words 'affiliate' and / or marketer in them. Sadly, but not really surprisingly, the most obvious are already taken, especially with .com extensions.
One of those on the list I compiled for myself was available 'themarketingsniper' and I've bought it as a .com. The other came to me in a 'flash' of inspiration, and I hope you'll excuse the pun as the domain I've purchased, again as a .com, is 'thenakedaffiliate'.
There's an awful lot of online marketing nowadays that uses words like naked and exposed. Here in the UK we've got a TV shows called 'The Naked Chef', 'Naked And Afraid' and 'Naked Attraction' which is actually a rather tawdry and poor taste dating site for exhibitionists (so I'm told by a friend of mine!). It's not actually that new, since there was a TV show from America called 'Naked City' dating way back to 1958!
The simple fact is, the word 'Naked' is eye catching and maybe in this particular context, there is a humourous element too. At the same token, some may find it a little off-putting or 'cheesey'. I'm not sure what sort of site logo I'd come up with. It certainly won't be a picture of me in my birthday suit since, with 'Attraction Marketing' in mind I certainly don't want to frighten people and put them off!
I like both domain names, and may well end up using both, as well as re-using my old site, as I narrow down the very broad 'make money online' niche and start to target specifc demographics, but that's some way down the line.
I'd be interested in hearing your opinions, folks, and thank you for any insight you might be able to give me.
Have a great WA Day everybody!
