I can't seem to get ranked on Googled and I don't know why. I suspect it has to do with keywords. But I must be doing some thing wrong and could use some help

There's not much I can add to the great advice you've already been given. I thoroughly agree with the images/colors suggestions. Set the romantic mood with color scheme and images.

Should I perhaps change my theme?

You might want to look at other themes. I know there are some "heartsy" ones out there. If your site is hosted here, there's a ton of themes to look at.

I took your advice and I think i came up with something that may make a difference. What do you think?

Hello Richard, I forgot to include the link to this training here at WA, enjoy and let me know how you get on with it!
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/how-to-set-up-google-authorship-verify-with-webmaster-tools-google-analytics

Thanks for the link

Lot's of good advice here Richard. Once you have taken all of the necessary steps ... it takes time for Google to move you up in the rankings! Patience ... you will move up!

Hello Richard, very nice site well laid out I like it. You asked about not been ranked on Google? I done a view source on your site and I see you have not set up Google webmaster tools to help rank your site?
You need to set an account with google and go to their webmaster tools section, and from there you have to fill in the forms and insert the code you get from them, into your all in one SEO page about half down in the Webmaster Verification section?
Yes I know it is a bit long winded...? but you should do it.

Thanks! I did not know this and will definitely give it a try

Hi Richard,
Do you use any keyword research tool? I use Jaaxy, as well as the WA keyword research tool. Seems like "relationship" is more popular than "dating". Google long distance, the first thing that pops up on the list is "relationship", you will have to add "d" before dating comes up.
I did some research for you and here are good keywords you could write your next posts on and then take it from there.

....Do long distance relationships work
......How to maintain long distance relationships
....Long distance relationship advice
....Survive long distance relationships
....Long distance relationship activities
......making long distance relationships work

Good luck Richard, let me know if you need any further help, I'll definitely give you as much as I know.
Onyeka

Hey Richard - hopefully you are seeing what this community is all about. Why not try UberSuggest.org (it's recommended in Kyle/Carsons training a few times) - and will do what Onyeka has done for you tonight - but without the effort.

As she says, let us know - there are many of us here who will give you all we know. Only payment is to try and help us, and other people when they ask for help too!! It is a community afterall - and no matter what you think, you will be able to help others too.

All the best, Mark

Thanks Onyeka! I do use jaaxy ,and have been concentrating on on dating keywords only. Thanks for pointing that out to me. I'll look int that

I have taken a look at your website and I think it needs a bit of colour and images, if you are to attract the imaginatin (and the heart) you need to dress it up a bit better.
I know because I got to the present look of my website after 4 refurbishments. My niche is very cimpetitive, so I have to offer a bit more if I want to catch the visitor's imagination.

Thanks! All this support and advice has been very encouraging. Now I have some ideas to work. I'll keep you all updated

Hi Richard.

Don't be disheartened - as Donatella says, it takes patience and constant posting.

If it helps, I've been here since October, and only noticed me starting to rank in Google and Bing/Yahoo for one of my sites, for some keywords, earlier today (I have been distracted with other projects though, so not fully focussing on WA since Oct).

To say I was over the moon would be an understatement. This is WORLD DOMINANCE to me :)

I have been fortunate in having a word of mouth business for the last 10 years or so - marketing never meant anything to me until coming to WA.

Now I am learning what it means to create good content, consistently - now it is not word of mouth, but organic searches that I have seen today.

I honestly believe if you stick to the "post often, and post quality" ethos, you will get ranked before you know it. Keep following the training here too, and do what is says to the letter.

All the best, Mark

Thanks! I needed to hear that

Hi Richard, it does take time to get ranked and a lot of patience! Regular posting of new content is also important. I like your site and the layout, but personally I find the writing font a bit small.

You need more color and images, and they need to be bigger. You want dating to be an exciting prospect, especially for the wary ones! People are very visual by nature, and will always first skim over the pictures before reading the content, so you want to capture their attention as soon as they open your site.

In the following blog, Beverley explains the importance of images, I'm sure you'll find it very helpful.

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/bis/blog/adding-relevant-captions-to-your-images-will-encourage-more-readers

You are on the right track Richard! Wishing you tons of success!

Lydia.

Excellent advise.

Good suggestion Lydia - I use a lot of Beverley's posts to help other people (I do as you do, and link to the article rather than try and redo it in my own words).

Richard - Beverley always has good advice - and following her (if you don't already) would be my good advice to you...

Mark

Thanks Lydia! Great advice

I have experienced it is not so easy to get ranked, and it takes patience and constant posting. There is a lot of competition on the web. But you will get there, and sometimes with an unexpected article. Researching words works, but only to a certain extent. Consistency and interesting content work better in my opinion!

Good advice! I've been worrying so much about keywords that I have neglected posting. Thanks!

I forgot to add my website with this question
http://datingbea.com

I put up couple of sites, they both rank around 100. Then I play with it and mess it up. Now they disappeared from cyberspace. Lol.

I was just wondering if i should ask for comments at the end of every post I make and how do i set it up with captcha added

Kyle encourages us to go for interaction with our readers, so I would suggest requesting feed back on all but the most exceptional of posts.
Regards and good luck

Hey Richard,
I would, personally, just to open up your post to discussion. But at the same time if you are not wanting comments on certain posts you can turn them off in the quick edit on the right side (it's just a check box)

On the captcha, just activate the SI Captcha Anti-Spam. I believe there is a tutorial on what boxes to check on this one. And I'm thinking that this was one of the plugins that automatically downloaded with the WA Wordpress Express website

In looking for affiliate programs on Offervault and I keep coming across the words leads and sales. What's the difference and which is better?

Hello Richard,Josh has given you a good accurate answer and I would just like to add a side note which I hope might help. I understand your confusion, as I once had a site which developed thousands of leads, but very little in the way of sales. As a business matures, the value of a lead can calculated, according to just how many leads are necessary to produce one sale.
Moving leads through the 'funnel' to become prospects and then sales is known as conversion. Various products and services have vastly differing 'conversion ratios' and success is when the ratio becomes profitable enough to warrant continuing your campaigns.
BTW, in my case I decided I was working too hard to provide leads for someone else, so changed my focus and followed a different path.
Regards and good luck

Good advice. Thanks!

I would like to know more of what you read that made you ask the question---

You have been living fir a while like me and think you know what a sale is --

The replies you have received is the answer to the way you asked the question --they gave the best one for that question---

I think what you have been reading has caused you to ask but think maybe we need more information to make sure.

If not you have received great advise ---

Coach Ed

Richard:

A sale is self explanatory. It's when, well... when you make a sale!

Your leads, in online marketing, are the people who come to your site... and submit their details to you via your squeeze page / landing page.

Something on the web "leads" them to your page, hence the name "lead". Whether it's your ranking in Google for a search term, and they clicked on it, or an ad on a Pay-per-Click platform, or a referral from a Facebook like, or an offline classified ad... something brought them to you.

If those leads submit their details to you on your page, those leads go into your auto-responder. They are now "PROSPECTS", as you begin building the relationship with them through your email campaigns.

Basically, prospects are leads that have reached your site, "joined" your site... people with whom you've had a first-time contact, and have profiled them.

Ultimately, your aim is to convert these prospects into a $ale.

In other words, leads are cold first-time contacts, whereas prospects are warm, responsive to your "message" nurtured over time. And sales is what prospects "lead" to (ideally!)

Hope this clears it up for you!

-Josh

Hello Richard,

Leads can lead to Sales.

Sales are money in your back pocket, has that answered your question?

To Our Success Online,
Jonicas

Thanks for a simple explanation!

Hey Richard! A lead is a potential cutover. A sale is when the product is paid for! Sale is definitely better. It means $$$ in your pocket!

Can I add different affiliate links that pertain to my niche on my website?

i actually wrote a post on this topic a month ago if you're interested: finding a good balance is key! http://affiliate-101.com/finding-the-right-balance-of-affiliate-links

Thanks! I'll check it out

Looks like you got some great advice already, Good luck with everything.

Too many links can be a bad thing. I see websites here eveyday that are overwhelmed with ads and links. You cannot even find the content.
So, for example of how to do this, look at my site and see that there is only one link normally down at the bottom, and one in a widget area. This site I've been told has about the right amount starting out.

Thanks! Good advice. I just want to keep it simple

Hey Richarde,

Yes you can definitely put multiple affiliate links on your website but you do not want to add them until you are ranking in the search engines. You want Google to see your website without affiliate links so that you can gain some trust.

Cheers,

Carson

Thanks, that helps a lot! I am already ranking on Google so I'll get started

Yes, but don't over do it!
