I hope I'm not being too presumptuous, but I'm in the pain management niche and I have communicated with a lot of readers over the years in your position. Some will ask for a suggestion on how to complete tasks when issues of health comes up. What works for them was finding a way to pace themselves.

For example, one gentleman actually realized that his pain intensified at different parts of the day. He was able to complete his tasks in parts, doing the most at the time when his pain diminished. He rested at the time the pain intensified. He went one step further and at my suggestion developed a "pain journal" where he marked what situations of the day led to flare-ups. That gave him even more control on and less dread of what the day will bring.
