I want the description to only show up when people click the picture on google images, I tried to add it to the caption on WordPress but it adds it into the actual post instead

Hey Reece,

The following blog post may explain what you are looking for: And then there is the following tutorial: Hope you find this information helpful.

Hi Reece
Wordpress Back Office > Media > Right click on image you want > Look for box on right hand side that says "Alternative Text" > enter text in there > hit 'enter' once you've done the text > click on 'x' in top right of the Attachment Details screen and you're good to go.

Actually, all the above does is place text in place of images so that those who use website readers (those with sight issues for example) are told what the text says the picture is about.

The thing is, if you're trying to work with Google then working in wordpress isn't going to work.

When you upload your images to Google are you given the option to give an alternative text description?

Ah okay thanks

What do you mean upload them to google?

Are this images ones you own or are they someone else's images?

Both as some are affiliate images and others are mine

OK - and you want these images to be on Google - why not on your website?
Forgive the questions, I'm just trying to figure out the best way to help

They are on my website, images from my website rank on google images but I don’t know how to get a description on them

Ah, ok - right, if you add the alternative text as described above; when Google comes along and indexes your post and 'sees' your image; it will index that image.
When you click on the image in Google Images you'll get 2 links on the right hand side.
The top link is the link to your post, the 2nd link is also a link to your website (I'm not too sure what makes Google do that) and the 3rd line is the alternative text that you've assigned to the image in wordpress.
I hope that does what you want it to.

I thought that the alt text was just for people with screen readers?

Me too! so I googled : how to get a description to show up on google images and went to the first result from support.google.com and found that out.

Can you send me the link from google support which says that?

Here you go: Actually no I can't - WA won't allow me to post it - just do a search for : How to get a description to show up on google images and you'll see the link as the first entry

I’ve been using the all in one set for months now and write all my seo on there so would I have to write them all again if I switch to yoast?

Hey Reece,

One member who decided to venture away from Kyle's training and that member switched to Yoast, soon changed back to the All In One SEO, due to a drastic drop in his posts ranking in searches.

Thought you MIGHT want to know of this before wandering away from Kyle's training.

Hope you find this helpful.

No. If all goes right (usually that's the case), no meta data is lost...

Cheers,
Tim

I have a post further down my blog roll and I’d like to move it up to the top again, does anyone know how to do that?

Change the post date to todays date. Or set the post as a sticky post. You can do that in the quick edit feature.

In the listings of your posts in your back office. You'll find the quick edit link under your post title

Yes, WordPress has the option of sticky posts. Go to your posts, click quick edit, and then, click "make this post sticky".

I tried using sticky posts but they don’t seem to be working

Just change the date on blog post till today's date and always change the date to the newest post.

Works the same if you want to make a post disappear too put an old date :-)

It should work. This is what I do. Is it a technical issue of your theme?

I’m already a member of shareasale and I tried CJ affiliates but their website layout was terrible and I can barely use it so I’m looking for a new one, if anyone c

Another option is for you to do a search using your niche + affiliate programs. This should give you some results that you can review. However, I'm sure you will notice that many of these programs are managed through sites like ShareASale, CJ, etc...

Look to private companies that interest you and scroll down to the footers of these sites. If have found many private programs this way. Also, if you find a company you like, and your site has good traffic, you can always send them an email asking if they would consider your promotion of their site(s) in exchange for a percentage.

I’ve been looking into clickbank as I’ve heard they are pretty good

Hi - have you checked out WA's new feature?

I saw that and tried it but it sent me to different websites
