Getting Started

I have Mailerlite for my email provider. I also installed WP forms--the free version.

I am not technical but I think this will work
Step 1: Create Your Webinar Signup Form in Mailerlite

Log into Mailerlite: Access your Mailerlite dashboard.
Create a New Form: Navigate to the "Forms" section and choose to create a new signup form specifically for your webinar.
Customize the Form: Add fields that you'll need for the webinar signup, such as name, email address, and any other relevant information.
Save and Get Code: Once your form is ready, save it. Mailerlite will provide you with a snippet of HTML code to embed the form on your website.

Step 2: Create a form
Create a New Form (Optional): If you prefer to use WP Forms directly for signups due to its integration capabilities, create a new form with the required fields for your webinar. However, note that the free version of WP Forms might have limitations on direct integration with Mailerlite.

Step 3: Embed Mailerlite Form into WordPress

For direct Mailerlite form integration, you won't need to use WP Forms unless you prefer its form design and handling capabilities.

Choose Your Page: Decide where you want the signup form on your website. It could be on a specific landing page dedicated to the webinar.
Edit the Page: In WordPress, navigate to the page where you want to add the signup form.
Add HTML Block: Use the Gutenberg editor to add a Custom HTML block to the page where you want the form to appear.
Paste the Code: Paste the HTML code provided by Mailerlite into the HTML block.
Preview and Adjust: Preview the page to see how the form looks and make any necessary adjustments to ensure it blends well with your site’s design.
Update/Publish the Page: Once you're satisfied with how the form looks, update or publish the page.

Step 4: Test the Form

Submit a Test Entry: Fill out the form yourself to ensure that the data correctly syncs with your Mailerlite account and that you're properly capturing webinar signups.
Check Confirmation Emails: Ensure that any confirmation or follow-up emails are correctly set up and being sent out upon registration.

WP Forms Integration: For deeper integration with WordPress and to utilize the form-building capabilities of WP Forms, you might consider upgrading to a paid version or exploring other plugins that offer direct integration with Mailerlite.
Landing Page Optimization: Ensure your landing page is optimized for conversions. This includes clear call-to-action (CTA) buttons, concise content, and testimonials if available.
Mobile Responsiveness: Check the form’s appearance on mobile devices to ensure it’s responsive and easy to fill out on any device.

I created a new back ground image for my Twitter profile. I can't seem to get it to fit. Can anyone help?

TheApril is spot on...canva.com has templates for every social media platform and heaps of other good image tools and it's free and surprisingly easy to use.

That's good to know. It looks like a wonderful resource. I am grateful for the input! Thanks.

canva.com has a great Twitter template

Thanks much...I'll check it out. I did manage to get my background image uploaded...had to do a work around but it looks good.

cant help sorry don't use social media
Ken

It needs to be 1500x500 pixels.
You can use http://apps.pixlr.com/editor/ to resize. Open your file then go to "Image" - "resize."
Let me know if you get stuck, I can do it in Photoshop for you. :)

Thanks Kathy! I read somewhere that the images needed to be smaller since Twitter enlarges them. I'll try the app.

I made a banner that size for Twitter and it fitted fine, info here. :)

If you have windows you can go to paint and resize it. Find out what size you can use and adjust to it. Paint is in your windows photo gallery.

WA Affiliate Program
Updated

I just posted a WA Success post. My intention is to point the outside world to WA. Since our WA blogs are part of the public internet universe I assumed that I could add my WA

Just want to make sure I have this right.

You have a success post here in the WA. And you want to create a separate post on your website and link to the post here - is that correct?

If so, yes you can do that - just grab the post link from here and use that on your site - it has your affiliate link in it.

I've done that where I talk about some aspect of the WA and then link to the relevant content here in the WA.

But as mentioned you cannot copy content from here and place it on your website.

Hope this helps

Thanks, Leo. What I meant was I posted a blog on WA...not on my website...I wrote a success post regarding learning from WAU. I linked my WA referral link within the post.

I did that because in one of the training programs, Kyle said that writing WA blogs becomes part of the public universe so it is a good way to inform outsiders about the benefits of WA membership.

I'm just trying to get clarification so I don't violate a WA rule that I am unclear about.

Oh ok - you don't need to do that - because when (if) this post gets ranked in the serp's and someone clicks the link that link will bring them to your post inside the WA.

And if someone decides to join the WA your post is your affiliate link and you will get the referral.

Make sense?

Great question Rebecca!
Imy opinion it should be okay if it is just a link going to WA . .
A reply of Kyle and Carson is necessary . . .
Thanks!

Item 3. "Do not copy content from WA and post it somewhere else on the Internet. This includes copying your own blog content and putting it on your website. "

Thanks Ben. I'll check it out.

I'm not so sure they are part of the public internet world. However, they can be used by other folks with the affiliate link that goes on every piece we write here. I don't see the harm in using your WA affiliate link because you're sorta kinda preachin' to the choir as anyone who sees that blog is already here. I figured it was meant for the outside world. You are NOT allowed to promote products in your blogs, i.e. if you sold food and you wrote about your food business with actual sales links. That's in the No Spam policy. I don't see the harm in using your WA link when the post is clearly intended for those outside of WA. Of course, I've been wrong before. You might ask Kyle and see what he says.

Thanks, Carla! Just trying to get clarification, but I think you are right.

Carla...see Leo's explanation above. It all makes sense to me now!

Yes, it sure does. Thanks, Leo!

I inadvertently changed my Gmail capture page to a larger screen size...2-4 times larger font size.......no, I did not change the "settings" in the tool section. It just happene

Hi Rebecca, Had seen this on a Google group.

Did the font of your messages unexpectedly shrink? Wondering how to replace it with the default size? There’s a simple way to do this!

First, hold down [Ctrl] in Windows, or the [Cmd] key on a Mac. Then, while you're holding down that key, press [+] to make the font bigger, [-] to make it smaller, or [0] to reset to normal.

Hope that helps. Best wishes on your endeavors

Ahh...well that was easy! Thanks, it works and now I have a new piece of technical knowledge. Who knows where this could lead?

Maybe one day I will get a jog writing code for Oracle or Microsoft! (LOL)

Lol Rebecca that is so funny...by the way my Skype name is Tinkerbell....Lol...it wasn't me..ha ha. I think it was the Elves.
I don't have Gmail, but I have the other problem. I can't get my text larger, I change the settings in Google Chrome and save it and nothing happens.
Hope someone has an answer for your. Kim

OMG...another technically challenged WAer...let's stick together Kim...no matter what the brilliant techies tell us...we need each other for moral support!

Rest assured, some of my dear supporters like Jim or Jorge or Leo or Craig will come to our rescue. Thanks for holding my hand through this gruesome fight with the Cyber Fairies!

Actually Rebecca, I am very technical I just haven't gone to the trouble to fix it. More things important like, creating my site and and helping out at WA.

Well, that being the case, you are miles ahead of me. Right now I am in the midst of moving....fixing all the little things is all I can handle until I get everything back in order.

Well take care of the moving part, and get back at it when you can. Good luck Rebecca.

If you absolutely had to make $3,000 online within 30 days 1) could you? 2) what would you do?

I think if you can focus and avoid distractions , you could absolutely make $3000 in local marketing. You need to have an irresistible offer to start with--something of value that you will give away or sell for dirt cheap--like a website audit for SEO, claiming their business listings on all the main directories in their industry niche, a webinar that gives information they would want about solving part of a problem they are facing in their business--bad reviews? Social media? No mobile optimized website? Poor rankings? No videos on website?) as a way to get your foot in the door and establish a relationship of trust so that you can get time with the decision maker/business owner to present your core offering, which ideally should be something related to the thing you just gave them, solving the problem (SEO, a mobile website, a video, social media update service, PPC management, etc.) ideally with set up fees and a monthly residual income. Choose a niche to focus on that spends money marketing already and has a budget and that also has high per customer lifetime value ( not a restaurant or hair salon)--dentists, lawyers, cosmetic surgeons, roofers/contractors, car dealerships, etc. Start by getting warm leads first, starting with businesses you use and then asking for referrals to businesses that your friends and family use, and then getting on the phone and email and giving value in exchange for their time and referrals. Build rapport, focus on helping them solve one problem (don't try to do all of those things--just pick one) with one solution. If you did this with consistency every day, you could have more than enough local business clients to make $3000, plus you would be making a monthly residual income with the service you sold as your core offering. Hope this makes sense. I tried to keep it as short as I could and still get the whole plan in there.

You put a lot of thought into your comment, Lisa and you make a GREAT point and that is FOCUS! Love that!

I agree, local marketing seems to be a good way for us WAers to make some consistent cash. Local marketing is a good way to put all this knowledge to work. Thanks, Lisa!

I'm not so sure what I'd do.

That's why we are here at WA...all to learn. Thanks!

I would go get 2 new clients and build sites for them. Should exceed that amount.

Yup! Lots of potential with Local Marketing....building websites, creating citations, local SEO work, online PPC advertising campaigns, managing social media accounts, generating local marketing reports...all work great with consulting or coaching. Great stuff! (:o)

e-bay I guess. I could start clearing out things from my home

Seems like a consensus with a place to start....but then we've only got so much junk....although I probably have more than most! LOL!

I would see my unwanted stuff to start with then work on my site even harder and look to do new stuff

Ebay works! I don't have the patience for it but people do make money with it.

If it was a life/death situation - most likely by selling "stuff" which I should do anyway.

Life/death situations do put a strain on things and yes, we can all lighten up a bit and tighten our belts. Some have developed am Ebay strategy for bringing in cash. They do it by buying cheap on Craigs List and then selling at auction prices on eBay....lots of work!

My answer is a qualified "I don't know." I've never made that kind of money so I honestly don't know how to do it. However, I know I could generate that sum, but not online. . . . YET. Food for thought.

From what I have experienced local marketing, using your skills and knowledge as a coach, doing a successful product launch are quicker to cash flow. Some have built up email lists rather quickly and marketed affiliate products to the list. Others have set themselves up as website developers.

Just trying to gather ideas from the community for now...assessing interest. ~Rebecca

Do I feel a hot training coming on? :)

Now that is another one of your BRIGHT thoughts! Have a great day, ~Rebecca

There have been success stories in the short term, but at this point I would fall short if I set that goal. So my goal would be $1000

Whatever goal you believe you can reach, I have no doubt that you will. ~Rebecca

In 30 days:
1. YES
2. I would not feel comfortable promoting another program here on/at WA.

A diversified portfolio is essential in online business. Putting ALL your eggs in the WA basket is not prudent.

Having said this, I BELIEVE that WA is the BEST place to build a long term business!!!

Best wishes!
Montie

Thanks, Monte. I am not looking for specific names of programs. I was thinking along the lines of getting new coaching clients, or setting up a local marketing business or building websites or other "quick cash flow" ideas.

Yes, indeed it does take awhile to build up an online business with affiliate marketing as the core money maker. ~Rebecca

Good question. $3000 here in Colombia is much more than what is in the States! I would work very hard and I would try to come up with different kinds of money making ideas.

Yes, Hilda...i realize that what works in some areas is not as effective in others. My thought is along the lines of local marketing efforts. I was hoping to hear about getting local clients for coaching or building online marketing campaigns or doing SEO and local listings to get an idea of what some are charging in their areas.

You are so right....building a simple website for a local business owner in the US may net more than building the same site for businesses in other countries. Thanks for the qualification!! ~Rebecca

Thank you for your explanation Rebecca.. I am eager to read the ideas other members come up. I hope I will learn a lot from you and from them. Be blessed.
