Productivity Tips Day 4| Productivity Leads to Life Balance
On Day 4 of Productivity Tips we will explore the concept of how productivity leads to life balance. Many would disagree with that statement because of the sense of overwhelm they often face with the daily challenges that come with life. Maybe you are such person.
Please don’t think I’m sitting in an ivory tower of judgment. I am notorious for spending far too many hours in front of my computer writing. I’ve experienced the weightiness of overwhelm many times in my life. I know what the angst feels like inside when you know you should take better care of yourself but yet you feel the need to complete just one more task.
Do you ever feel like you are running around like a chicken with your head cut off? Oh my, there are days when the flood of interruptions hit like a torrential rainfall and everything goes into my urgent folder. Those are the days when we must remind ourselves to go into what I call “extreme self-care mode” and take frequent breaks from the grind.
Just for fun...here is short video of how hard it is to catch a chicken ....enjoy!

PRODUCTIVE RELAXATION
Try adding productive relaxation to your day. That may sound counterproductive, but many highly productive and successful people take time for exercise, getting a massage, quiet meditation or any number of relaxation activities to help them lower stress and renew their energy.
Your productivity will reach new levels as you start to take better care of yourself. You will feel more vibrant and relaxed which will in turn improve your productivity.
By being more productive with your time not only will you be able to make more money for yourself, you will find yourself enjoying greater life balance. As a result you will be able to spend more time doing the things you enjoy and making better relationships with the people who are most important in your life.
YOUR PERFECT LIFE CALENDAR
For those of you who are self-employed, start by adding an extra half-day of free time into your schedule to achieve a more balanced perfect life calendar. But, be sure to define your “free” time as something you do for fun and relaxation.
Free time allows our brains to rest and recharge. Done consistently, you will find yourself with far less stress and greater creativity and motivation for work days.
Just for fun, take ten minutes and write down the top three things you can do to make the most productive use of the next sixty minutes of your day. Do this simple exercise a few times every day and you’ll find yourself wasting far less of your precious time.
Mark Cuban, Donald Trump and other billionaires are ruthless with their time. Follow their example and learn to be ruthless with your time. Purpose to use every minute of your work day time focusing on the accomplishment of your abundant life goals. Doing so will ultimately lead to even greater freedom with both time and money.
It is a gorgeous day here in Colorado. I’m off for a walk. Tune in again tomorrow for “Productivity Tips From Oprah Winfrey”. Please chime in with your comments below.

Oh hey, that's my new favorite. Thanks!
Glad to help. Thanks for stopping by....I do hope you don't have to waste time chasing chickens out of your yard. >(:o)
Thank you, Kim. I did and fortunately I was able to get back before the downpour. Weather is unpredictable in Colorado. Early this morning I shared my thoughts about how exercise and relaxation improves productivity with my trainer. We both came to the conclusion that is is better in the long run to choose life and all of the opportunities it presents for doing good things for ourselves.
Very good advice as always Rebecca. The feeling of running around like a chicken with it's head cut off and still not accomplishing a lot of the things I had planned has been around way too much lately.
"Learn to be ruthless with their time" I really like that...I've always written down my goals for the next day each night, but then somewhere along the way I lose track, so I'm going to add that exercise for the next 60 minutes into each day as it goes forward.
Thanks for sharing and best wishes to you :) -Sherry
Welcome to my Productivity Series, Teri. Thanks for your comment. It sounds like perhaps you and your husband are "tweeners"....that place in between full retirement and the job that we so often find ourselves tied to.
Time has a funny way of eluding us and at the same time (pardon the pun) we are often deluded into thinking that we will get time for ourselves once the next big project has been completed. That has been the story of my life and I am now in the process of being true to myself and providing my self with the extreme self-care that should have been my priority years ago.
Well now that I feel better...I hope you do as well. I hope you will tune in for tomorrow's chapter. (>:o)
