Five hundred and fifty four years passed from that busy day on May 29, 1453. At that time the cry of "The Polis falled" and the"Queen", the City of Saints, the Emperors and the legends, was heard by the Ottoman ruler. Thus began the Ottoman rule. Nowadays we honor the fallen during the siege and the Fall, we read the laments and the legends, we are moved and taught. Because this is the value of historical memory. To be a lesson for younger and outgoing generations.
