This has all been sorted out. Transaction is complete and now I just wait for a check :-) Thanks for your help guys.

I haven't been able to figure this out. The website's been paid for and funds held in escrow. The buyer sent me instructions which included the following

2) Provide the login to Cpanel and preferably SSH for the ucamgirl.com hosting account.

3) Please provide the FTP host name, user name and password if they are different from #2 above.

Since we don't have access to Cpanel, I'm stuck. What do I do?

Hope this helps

Ftp hostname is your.... ftp.yourdomain.com
so it would be ftp.ucamgirl.com

An example: change yourdomain to this...
- ftp.google.com
- ftp.youtube.com

Your username and password will be seen to this link... https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites

and then click on details and your ftp passwords and user name are there

cheers
Alan

I found the ftp login form and the credentials, but when I put them in that just gave me This webpage is not available >_<

Congratiolations with this success! Angie

There are free plugins that download the whole enchilada. Try googling "complete backup plugin."

I used to use one...wish I could remember what it's called.

Hello,

Would you consider selling the domain [my domain].com for $5,000?

Sounds a bit tricky. Perhaps that means they see some good potential with your site and you could be earning more than that in the future?

Apparently when he said "domain" he actually meant "website" - and he's raised his offer to $10,000 if I include all my content. He said he wants it for the SEO value (I guess the training worked haha), so I assume he's just going to use it for links or something.

I'm hesitating because I feel like selling is a kind of "giving up" on an unfinished project. At the same time, $10k is even better than $5k lol, and the website hasn't really started to generate revenue after 8 months. It definitely has potential, but needs a lot of work on that front.

I would really appreciate some thoughts/advice from someone who knows anything about selling websites.

I've worked for domain flippers. They will buy websites, add more content, and then sell it for a higher price later on down the line. Your website's SEO value might be worth $10,000 now, but in a year from now you can probably triple the value.

Also, if it's not earning revenue now, it will soon. Domain flippers look for signs of high earning potential when they buy domains. If they see high traffic value, they'll put ads on the site, make some revenue, and turn around and flip it for 3-5 times what they paid for it. Sometimes even more than that.

It's up to you but I wouldn't get rid of it, especially if it feels like you're giving up on a potential project.

Thanks for your thoughts Kinya! I started to look at this a different way today, and that is: I can do it again! This was only my second website, and I learned a lot during the process of building it. My ideas aren't copyright, so while I can't go copying the old posts, I can totally rewrite and re-brand and make something even better using the old posts as a sort of guide to kick start it!

Another great thing about this is the opportunity to get on Amazon's good side. They declined my affiliate application because of some perceived mature content, so I'll be more careful this time. Then I can also make use of Adsense, which I avoided because I didn't want to risk getting banned from the program.

I think the money will serve as a serious reminder that I can succeed in my business. I'm going to plow ahead and make something big out of this.

If nothing else it will be a learning experience, not to mention $10k. I've initiated the transaction and with these new perspectives I feel good about it.

:) Good for you. I, personally, would never get rid of my website. I enjoy blogging about chocolate too much. I'm pretty attached to it - I consider it my baby. So unless someone offered me something in the six-figure range, forget it.

But you're not me. And, you can chalk this up as a success, because apparently you were doing something right if someone wants to buy an 8 month old site for $10,000. We should all be so fortunate.

This is so cool. I'm with your thinking, Angie. If you are offered 10k for your whole website, why not just do it all again? Sounds like some great motivation. Most written content is really easy to remake without plagiarizing yourself. And $10k will go a long way for keeping you fed (and your membership paid) until you start earning some affiliate money!

Did some research. Looks like the offer might be legitimate and from a "domain flipper".. also it's just the domain name, not the content, which means (if I can figure out how) I can move my site to a new domain and re-brand it.

This is too much to think about today lol. Anyone know how complicated is it to move my site to another domain?

Yes, it should be really simple especially if it's hosted here at WA. I'm not sure how to "sell" a domain name but I know it's easy to move your site to a new one.

Haha I totally applaud you for being cautious. MarineMom is so right: do your research first.

I would have flipped a table over that amount but then I'd have to do my research before committing. Especially if, as you mentioned, it's one of the companies you did a negative review about. No amount of money in the world would make me sell my domain then, because I know I'm helping people, and you can't put a price on that.

Let us know what you find out!

Google who you are dealing with--research and find out what your website is worth. Contact them and get information but make no commitment. Good luck!

I'd like to know the outcome of this too. I am surprised you are very cautious. If that was me, I dont think I would twice, I'd be blinded by the $5,000

best of luck with this, and sorry I cannot help

I am a little concerned that it's one of the scummy companies I've reviewed on my site, and I actually care quite a bit about keeping new models away from these scams. If I hurt their business I'll just take that as a compliment haha. But I would only be blinded by an extra 0. ;)

This has always been an issue with my posts when they show up in Google. They look something like this:

Issue resolved, thanks to Vuong. :-)

Congratulations to you. Finally, it CAN DEFINITELY BE SOLVED. Great news! The thing is DON'T GIVE UP or SURRENDER to difficulties.

Enjoy your site now :)

At the time I'm writing this, your problems still not fixed yet.

I'm trying to help you out. I don't wanna give up or surrender. This is good for you & for my experience too.

See below for my suggestions:

SUGGESTION 1:

There're currently around 03 plugins running in your site:
1. All In One SEO (of course, right?)
2. si-captcha-for-wordpress (default by WA installation)
3. really-simple-facebook-twitter-share-buttons

==> Try to DEACTIVATE plugin 2 & 3. Then see if it's fixed/ changed. If not, moved on to next one.

Many times, conflicts taken place due to some plugins (they don't like each other...:). Who know?

SUGGESTION 2:

Go to your AIO SEO > General Settings.
Look for the section called "Use Original Title"
There're 02 options there: Enabled & Disabled.

If your setting is "Disabled", then try to choose "Enabled" or vice versa. Save the setting. Close your website, Reopen your site to see if it fixed.

If not, moved on to the next one.

SUGGESTION 3:

Again, you said you've tripled check the setting many times.

I want you to QUADRILED check below thing:

Check if any ADDITIONAL/ MISSING SPACE/ or MISSING character(s) in below:

%page_title% - %blog_title%
%post_title% - %blog_title%

If all are fine, then change "-" back to the default one "|". Becareful about the SPACE(S) (redundant or missing).

I hope my 3 addtional suggestions will solve your problem.

I know that Carson's already checked it your in site setting. However,
If the problem cannot be fixed and If possible, pls PM me your login info so that I can have a look for you. I'd like to see what happened behind the scene.

Pls let us know your result.

Your option 2 about Use Original Title did the trick, only mine was already enabled so I tried disabling it. Voila! Thanks so much for the idea! :D

Carson will be the best bet to get it fixed for you

I'll be happy to login to your theme and see what might be causing this for you. If you've changed the title already as "Vuong1213" mentioned below, it could be that Google simply hasn't updated their database yet. Changes to your site can take a few weeks for Google to notice.

I bet this is the issue, but to be sure, reply to my Private Message that I just sent and I'll login to your site and have a look.

Carson

There was no change made, since it has been set up correctly from the beginning. Sent you my admin details. Thanks.

Thank you both for trying to help, and I apologize if my response sounds rude at all. I have tried to fix this so many times, and everyone always gives me the same answer (the ones you just gave me again). I'm frustrated. :/

I believe that it's caused by AIO SEO setting. Pls double check it ONCE more time.

Pls pay attention to below 02 sections:

Page Title Format: %page_title% - %blog_title%

Post Title Format: %post_title% - %blog_title%

I'm sure that "U Camgirl" is your BLOG title (website title).

If you want it NOT to show up, just DELETE THE SECOND PART which is "| %blog_title%" (in AIO SEO - General Settings)

Pls also check other sections: category, archive...to do it the way you want.

REMEMBER to Click on "UPDATE OPTIONS" for the NEW setting to take effects.

It will NOT POP UP a Save Message the same way as MS Office application that ask you everytime to change something. Therefore, we easily forget to SAVE...

Many people FORGET to click Save or Update, then they still get stucked at it. Believe it or not many times we're in that situation. I've been there too.

Now, AWESOME TIP:

Go to Google, type the whole string below & see what happened:

site:http://ucamgirl.com

Hit ENTER...Everything is exposed under the sun. You should now see all of your Blog/Page/Post titles SHOW UP or HIDDEN...

If you tried my suggestions but it's still cannot fixed, check your theme setting ---> If not fixed again,...---> change another theme.

I hope this will help you out.
Vuong

Vuong: That is exactly what I said I have double checked, and I have triple checked and it is set up correctly. I do not want the blog title removed from AFTER the hyphen. It is showing up directly AFTER the post title, BEFORE the hyphen. This really doesn't help at all. It's been an issue in multiple themes.

Maksim: You didn't look in the right place. Every single post has this issue. It's how it shows up in Google, and at the top when you hover over the tab it will pop up that way... I'm not talking about the titles in the posts themselves. I'm talking about how they appear in search results.

Went to another post and they looks fine so more likely issue with this one. Do you have U Camgirl in title of post or in addiction All in one SEO settings?
