Making Money With Adsense Already (UPDATED!)

Last Update: November 05, 2018

WOW! That was quick!

I applied for Google Adsense yesterday, got approved (as you can see, I made 6cents yesterday) and today, I already made $1.58!

This is a quick post not to brag (this is not even much... lol) but to show those who have not gotten approved by Google Adsense yet, or who have gotten disapproved, that you should not give up!

At this time, I have over 120 articles on my website and my website is 11 months old. I decided to forget about applying for Google Adsense at first because I just didn't want to bring myself down when/if I got disapproved.

I just felt that it was better for me to wait and focus on growing my website before applying as I have heard of people getting disapproved a lot.

If you're wondering whether it is the right time for you to apply for Google Adsense at this time, let me tell you that I get around 200 daily visitors. So this, along with the information about the age of my site and the number of articles that I have, should give you an indication of whether you should go for it and what to expect.

Thanks for reading everybody!

Reyhana

I simply have no words but to thank Wealthy Affiliate and Kyle and Carson for creating such a wonderful community! It would just not have been possible to make money online without their help and the help of the community!

I applied and started with Google Ads several days ago.
Did you allow it to put its ads everywhere it wants?
I choose to do it manually and only inserted the ads in the posts that don't have too many "sales pitches" already.
And I only put it in 1-2 places per post and 2 on my sidebar.
Made maybe 0.07$ or so :-)

Congrats on getting approved, Maria... :)

Yes, I think it's called Auto Ads and I allowed the ads to appear in my headers, footers, within my content and my side bar. I also think that you can allow the ads to appear as popups and so on, but I disabled those.

I just think that completely blocking somebody to read my content with frequent ad popups is going to negatively affect the readability of my website, which I dont want.

So far, I have not seen a decrease in reading time on my website, but it might be too early to tell. I'm still experimenting and if the Auto Ads negatively affect my website severely, then I will switch to manually inputting them.

So far though, it does not seem to be an issue for my readers, so I'm leaving it on.. :)

I read some advice against Auto Ads ( I think from Marion here).
Google puts too many of them and the website might look spammy.
Of course, up to you.

It's great that you're looking into it, but I don't see anything bad happening on my website because of it yet. Like I said, I'm experimenting.

Additionally, you DO have the choice to CHOOSE where you want the ads; like in the headers, footer, sidebar or within your content. Therefore, you do have some degree of control over the amount of ads that you want on your website.

I would ask that you go over the Auto Ads section within Google Adsense yourself and explore more. It's great to get advice from others but it does not beat actually checking it out for yourself and experimenting.

What's not working for others (or what others don't like), does not necessarily mean that it's not going to work for you (or that you're not going to like it).

Please don't take it the wrong way. I'm not trying to say that what Marion says is wrong. This is just my advice to you, and what I have learned through being here. :)

This is awesome. Adsense is all about traffic. The more traffic the better. I worked for a brick and mortar company a few years ago who put adsense on their website. So as a company who really did nothing online except get lots of traffic to their website some months they made 10 grand in adsense revenue. Myself about 6 years ago I was making 500 a month. Adsense can be great money. It shouldnt be your only revenue but I think its a great way to make some money. My highest click I ever had was a 14 dollar click.Keep up the hard work, keep getting the traffic and I think you will be pleasently surprised.

Absolutely, Dale! That's why I wanted to wait until I got enough traffic for the income to make a difference, and apparently, it did.

Thanks for sharing! It really gives the perspective of the difference that some ads can do in our revenue, without impacting the readability of our website.

If I keep doing as good as this (yesterday made $8.58 in adsense revenue) then I'll be hitting it close to $300 in passive income every month (and growing) which is amazing!

This little success really is pushing me to pump out more quality content. What surprised me is that my number of visitors and reading time did not decrease much... :)

Thank you for sharing this information, and congratulations on the great news for you.
How do you obtain so many visitors daily? is there anything I don't do correctly, my traffic doesn't go up.

Thank you, Jackie!

To be honest with you, my traffic was doing well until the Google update in August. Since then, I have not seen anything past 200 per day... But I know that the only way to get the number of visits to go up, it's to keep pumping out content, which I'm doing everyday.

I target keyword with over 50 searches, less than 100 competition (sometimes under 70 if I can) and I target a QSR of over 95%, when I can. It's very strict, but I find that it really helps with ranking most of the time.. :)

That is great news! Congrats!

By the way, did your visitors increase after you added google AdSense?

Thanks a ton!

Hmmm, I have not noticed an increase.. I guess it's a little too early to tell because I only put adsense on yesterday. But my traffic is usually around the 200 mark, which it is today as well.. but remind me in a few days and I'll let you know.. :)

Absolutely! I just checked and now I'm upto $8.58... still can't believe it. It's kinda sad but it's the most that I have made in a single day on my website... lol

But I know, it takes baby steps and I'm getting there eventually. :)

Yep, I should join Adsense too, but hate to put ads on my site. Still, it would be nice to make some money.
