$15,765.97 Earnings For Month of November

It’s been a while since I’ve given a monthly update, but I’m gonna try and be more consistent going forward.

Been busy with a lot of things which I will get to later. But also, I think I’ve been a bit too complacent with the success of my site.

So just know that even those who are finding success with their online business can have moments where they slack off.

But before I get into what I’ve been up to during my time of slacking, let’s go over how the month of November went.

November Earnings

The month started off ridiculously strong for me as you can see from the graph below. This was a bit surprising because I’ve heard from many that traffic seems to tick down during the holiday season.

Eventually traffic did start to go down around the 12th, but was still earning a decent income.

Things did start getting really busy again the day after Thanksgiving. The reason why this is worth mentioning is because my niche is in health and fitness.

So it only makes sense for people to make health a priority after enjoying themselves with all the food.

What surprised me however, was that my clicks didn’t really increase that much, but my conversion rates did.

As you can see, my conversion rate for the month was at almost 14%. But during the time after the 22nd, conversion rates were between 25-31%. Clearly people felt a bit guilty about their thanksgiving meal.

This was a huge boost for me income wise which lead to a strong finish for the month.

A Recap Of September and October Earnings

As you can see, september was my worst month since things started taking off for me. But I think it was like this for others as well, with back to school activities happening and all.

Things returned back to normal come October. Not only that, but I was finally compensated for missed conversions due to the company I was promoting going offline temporarily for 14 days.

This is why you see such a huge bump in earnings for the month. I actually made a little over 15k, and the rest was compensation primarily for the month of August and September.

You can read more about what happened in my August Report.

Believe it or not, I was very close to leaving this program due to lack of trust I was starting to have with the affiliate marketing team.

Things like low conversion rates and missed sales were happening due to them transferring from Sharesale over to Impact Radius.

I was going back and forth with them about when I would be receiving my compensation and for how much.

Eventually they asked how much I think I should be compensated. I said $8,500, but I would be ok with $5500 to get this whole things settled since there was no accurate way to tell how many of those clicks actually lead to sales.

Eventually we came to an agreement and they fully compensated me because they said “we’re thinking about the future of our partnership, and we want you to be happy.”

Since then all has been great, and we've developed a really good partnership.

So what did I learn from this experience?

I learned that we affiliate marketers do matter. I can remember a year ago watching one of the trainings done by Jay.

I can’t remember what he said exactly, but I think he was responding to a question about joining affiliate programs.

He talked about how these companies need affiliate marketers to help grow their business. So don’t think for a second that you aren’t important.

Just because you’re one individual and they’re some huge corporation, in order for them to grow, they need to treat their affiliate partners well.

Which is what makes Wealthy Affiliate such a great place to be. Kyle, Carson and the whole team treat us very well and I’m glad to be a part of it.

So just make sure to always keep that in mind when building your affiliate marketing business.

So What Have I Been Up To Lately?

As many of you know, to be successful with any business, especially your online business where you rely a lot on google, it takes a lot of work.

If you’ve read blogs from any of the other successful members here at WA, you know that it takes a lot of sacrifice and commitment to make this thing work.

When I first Joined WA, my workspace was basically my bed in the living room of my parents house.

Was it comfortable? Not at all. But it sure as heck gave me the motivation to grind hard at this and make it work.

But once the money started rolling in, I could see myself getting a bit complacent. Also, my living situation was starting to have a negative effect on me.

I was finding it hard to concentrate and focus on the work.

So I knew it was time to start making moves and get my own place. Once I felt comfortable with the money coming in from my site, my search for an apartment began.

So basically that past few weeks I’ve been settling into my new apt, along with paying off old credit card debts, and buying a new used car.

I have a second room which will be turned into my office. I plan on providing pics of my setup once I have everything I need.

So It’s time to get back on my grind like Rocky did back in Rocky III. Which is why I’m really looking forward to the new years!

So what are some of my goals for 2019?

Goals For 2019

Although I may not have finished the year production wise the way I wanted to, I plan on getting back at it in 2019.

Some of my goals for 2019 are:

  • Hit 200k in sales

  • Start doing videos

  • Get more involved in social media

  • Qualify for Vegas 2020

Was hoping to hit 100k for this year, but based on how slow December is going, not sure if I will get there. Although I do expect things to pick back up right after Christmas, so we’ll see.

Final Thoughts

The one thing I want to leave you all with is, enjoy the journey you’re on when it comes to building your business.

As you can see from my experience, there are always things that are going to come up regardless if you’re having success or not.

Try not to get too caught up in it and learn how to enjoy the process. I know being strapped for money can be a difficult thing to deal with, but the fact that you’re even trying is something you should give yourself a ton of credit for.

A lot of the times I have friends that say they’re bored and have nothing to do, but for me, i’m never bored because working on my business is always an exciting event. Even when I wasn’t making money.

So enjoy the journey, and know that you’re doing something many people are too afraid to even try. And that’s building a business that can change your life FOREVER!

So are you enjoying the journey of building your own business?

Thanks for your personal success with us. I read from your previous comments that you have completed about 200 posts on your site. May I ask how long it took you to get to this point and how often you post content to your two sites?

Congrats on such a fantastic upward jump!

Cheers,

Jessica

Hi Jessica! For my first site, it took me about 20 months to hit my 200th post, and I currently have 217.

I haven't been as active writing posts for either site due to other things i've been working on, but come the new years, I how to get back to writing 3-4 posts between both sites. I may even hire a writer at some point as well.

Wow that’s impressive! Thanks for the quick reply:)

You're welcome!

Congratulations Ralph!

I appreciate that you point out the aspect of being complacent once money started rolling in.

I believe that this is also one of the reason why we should be enjoying the process right from the beginning, even-though we are not earning yet.

I used to beat myself up for not performing as I have planned.
But reading more blogs here at WA and also learning from other sources makes me thing in a different way.

So I have started to try to enjoy the process, no matter what.
It is not something that happens overnight - but it is a process - at least in my case.
I am glad I can see results.

Thanks a lot Ralph, you have touched many aspects in this post.

Mike

Hi Ralph,
For me this is a very motivational story. It’s always the challenges that bring out the best in all of us. It’s nice to see you write down your goals, not just for you but for everybody to see. Putting it all out there in some ways makes you accountable, even if it’s just to yourself.
Loved your comment about big business needing us. How right you are.
